Implementing Lean Principles To Enhance Warehouse Operations At King Abdulaziz Air Base(Kaab): A Case Study Of Royal Saudi Air Force (Rsaf), Saleh A. Alghamdi
Theses and Dissertations
The Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) relies on efficient logistics to sustain readiness. At King Abdulaziz Air Base, warehouse receiving inefficiencies caused delays and waste. This study used Lean principles and a six-month time–motion analysis, with Pareto and Fishbone tools, to identify 55% waste in dead pile and 75% in palletized shipments. Standard times of 5.98 and 6.55 minutes were set. Key recommendations include SOPs, cross-training, forklift certification, layout redesign, and RFID. Lean adoption could save 100+ labor hours and $4,000 annually, improving safety, accuracy, and mission readiness.

Zika Virus Impairs Autophagic Flux In Trabecular Meshwork, And Inhibition Of Autophagy Restricts Ocular Viral Transmission And Associated Pathology, Faraz Ahmad, Prince Kumar, Pallav Singh, Trupti Joshi, Pawan Kumar Singh
Biomedical Sciences
Zika virus (ZIKV) is the lone member of Flavivirus family known to cause congenital glaucoma following in utero exposure. The molecular mechanisms of ZIKV-induced glaucoma remain elusive, with no known therapeutic modalities. Autophagy plays a dual role in viral infections and glaucoma pathogenesis. However, how ZIKV interferes with autophagic pathways in the trabecular meshwork (TM) and whether autophagy contributes to ZIKV-induced ocular complications remains elusive. Here, we investigated the role of autophagy in ZIKV ocular pathogenesis utilizing a primary human trabecular meshwork cells (HTMC) and IFNAR1-/- mouse model of ocular infection. Our results show that ZIKV permissively infects HTMC, elicits …
Local Identity In The Lives Of The Fathers Of Mérida: When Ethnicity And Religion Aren’T The Point, Erica Buchberger
Local Identity In The Lives Of The Fathers Of Mérida: When Ethnicity And Religion Aren’T The Point, Erica Buchberger
History Faculty Publications
While scholarship on early medieval Europe often centers ethnicity or religion over other forms of identity, they were not always the most relevant form of identification for contemporaries. In the Lives of the Fathers of Mérida (late sixth-early seventh century), ethnic and religious identity were actually deployed to construct a local identity around the space and people of the city. This article explores how the text did so by closely analyzing terms used and their context, and by applying social scientific theories of boundary construction to illuminate the strategies of identification behind it. It argues that such an approach …

Evaluating Unoccupied Aerial Systems (Uass) For The Monitoring Of Unmarked Moose In New Hampshire, Usa, Lily Hall
Master's Theses and Capstones
Accurate estimates of wildlife densities are important for understanding population dynamics and informing management decisions. Recent technological developments such as improvements of unoccupied aerial systems (UASs) and sensors provide novel pathways to estimate wildlife densities. However, these methods require critical evaluation of efficacy. In this research, we evaluated the capability of UASs to predict moose (Alces alces) density across a large landscape (~12,000 km2) in northern New Hampshire, USA using longwave infrared imagery via UAS sampling. In Chapter 1, our objective was to account for imperfect detection by creating a sightability model for unmarked moose that includes covariates expected to …

Speech Pathology and Audiology Faculty Research and Publications
Pediatric feeding disorder (PFD) is now recognized as a diagnostic entity, and we have the diagnostic and procedural codes for it. This is a turning point in our field because these codes don’t just unlock reimbursement—they validate and name the invisible. They allow us to collect data and identify patterns, and they open a door to remarkable things.
Dammed, Diverted, & Dry: The Colorado River Delta Deserves A Chance, Davin Roark
Dammed, Diverted, & Dry: The Colorado River Delta Deserves A Chance, Davin Roark
Water Law Review
Over the last century, dams and diversions on the Colorado River have devastated the Colorado River Delta and the Sea of Cortez-a crisis exacerbated by climate change. While Minutes 319 and 323 of the 1944 Treaty between the United States and Mexico have achieved some success, they have failed to adequately protect or restore the ecosystem in the face of our changing climate. The research is clear: the Delta continues to be in serious trouble. As Minute 323's expiration rapidly approaches, negotiations regarding its successor are ongoing. The International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC) has the power to ensure this …
Uncertain Future: How Conditional Water Rights Have Created Unintended Consequences In Colorado, Andrew Teegarden
Uncertain Future: How Conditional Water Rights Have Created Unintended Consequences In Colorado, Andrew Teegarden
Water Law Review
Conditional water rights within Colorado can create uncertainty for other water users within the prior appropriation system. These issues stem from recent treatment of conditional rights as akin to a vested property right, rather than a placeholder pursuant to which an applicant hopes to be awarded a vested right. Conditional water rights provide a degree of water security for a specifically identified future use by authorizing an applicant to reserve a place in line within Colorado's priority system for a water right to apply to such use. However, to protect the integrity of the priority system, an applicant's right to …

The Mercy Seat Of The Risen Christ: Atonement And The Glory Of God In Romans 3:21-26, David Westfall
The Mercy Seat Of The Risen Christ: Atonement And The Glory Of God In Romans 3:21-26, David Westfall
Faculty Work Comprehensive List
Scholarship on Romans 3.21–26 typically isolates the death of Jesus on the cross as the moment when Paul says the righteousness of God was disclosed, leading to the justification of all who believe the gospel. In this paper I argue that, although the death of Christ relates in important ways to Paul’s claims in the paragraph, this reading does not fully account for his metaphorical description of Christ as a ‘mercy seat’ (ἱλαστήριον), nor his assertion that those who believe are ‘justified through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus’. I show that Paul uses this language and imagery to …

Impact Of Varied Dietary Macronutrient Ratios On The Nutrition Status Of Swiss Albino Mice, Hellen Kinyi, Charles Kato, Gertrude Kiwanuka
Biomedical Sciences, East Africa
The nutrition status of an organism depends on the balance between nutrient intake and utilization. Malnutrition results not only from inadequate caloric intake but also from imbalanced macronutrient ratios, which can affect aging, metabolism, and health. While many studies focus on individual nutrients, this study used purified, isocaloric diets with varying macronutrient ratios to assess dietary effects on nutrition markers in Swiss albino mice.
Mice were randomized into 6 dietary groups, each containing 6 males and 6 females housed separately. Each group received an isocaloric diet with different carbohydrate, protein, and lipid ratios for 15 weeks. Animal weight, body mass …

Background Thevetia peruviana, commonly known as Yellow Oleander or Cabbage Tree, is a tropical shrub. Extracts from various parts of the plant (e.g., leaves, seeds) have demonstrated pesticidal properties, including the ability to repel or kill intermediate hosts of Schistosomiasis. Methods This study employed gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) analysis to identify 33 compo nents in the ethanol extract, with key compounds exhibiting antioxidant, anti‑inflammatory, anticancer, and anti microbial properties. Additionally, the research investigated the molluscicidal activity of the plant extract, its impact on Caspase‑3 expression, steroid sex hormone levels in Biomphalaria alexandrina, and histological alterations in the digestive and hermaphrodite …
