Women In Ministry In The Churches Of Christ: A Comparative View, Jennifer Reinsch Schroeder
Women In Ministry In The Churches Of Christ: A Comparative View, Jennifer Reinsch Schroeder
Discernment: Theology and the Practice of Ministry
This article examines the experiences of women serving as full-time ministers in the Churches of Christ. Analysis of the Siburt Institute’s 2025 Salary Survey shows a large gender pay gap that speaks to concerns regarding support and sustainability in ministry. To better understand mechanisms that impact both support and sustainability, a separate qualitative study was performed that analyzed the interviews of twenty-one full-time, female ministers. The study revealed recurring features of unhealthy systems and the impact of unhealthy systems on women in ministry. Conversely, the interviews illuminated hallmarks of healthy systems and the results that emerge out of such systems. …

A Theology Of Public Witness For Churches Of Christ In The 21st Century, Collin Packer
Discernment: Theology and the Practice of Ministry
In a time of increasingly divisive rhetoric and polarization, churches are facing new challenges that threaten their unity and mission. Churches of Christ find themselves in a peculiar position in this cultural moment. We do not bear the negative baggage associated with Evangelicalism’s drift into Christian nationalism and an enmeshment with the Religious Right. And yet, our witness has been muted through our silence pertaining to matters of public life and ethics. In this paper, I set out to investigate the historical reasons for our silence and to suggest a theology of public witness for Churches of Christ in the …

From Disposable To Renewable: Open Pedagogy In Stem Education, Aneliia (Annie) Chatterjee, Canan Eren
Open Access Conference
This presentation shares an action plan developed through the University of Minnesota’s Open Pedagogy Certificate program, showing how a traditional computer science course project can become a renewable, openly licensed assignment. In CS 331, Database System Design & Management, students design and implement relational databases, then publish their work - diagrams, schemas, SQL code, and walkthroughs - on GitHub for reuse and adaptation.
A faculty/librarian partnership introduces students to Open Educational Resources (OER), Creative Commons licensing, and accessibility practices, giving them agency in how their work is shared. This model empowers students as knowledge creators, advances equity, and offers …

Technology, Equity, And Oer: Building Pathways To Global Collaboration And Social Mobility, Evette Reyes
Open Access Conference
This workshop focuses on the connection between Open Educational Resources (OER), technology integration, and equity in education. It highlights how schools and districts can use OER to strengthen professional learning, build community partnerships, and expand access to high-quality resources. The session draws from my doctoral research on how closing the digital divide can promote social mobility, alongside case studies from district leadership and nonprofit initiatives. Participants will examine practical strategies for designing professional development that leverages OER and technology to address inequities, with attention to inclusive design and cross-border collaboration. An interactive design challenge will engage participants in applying frameworks …

Mercer Law Review Symposium
This panel will likely discuss the extent future viability of the Obergefell legacy in light of recent Supreme Court decisions, such as Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization and Department of State v. Muñoz, which have retreated from both the substantive due process jurisprudence that underpinned Obergefell and the traditionally robust understanding of constitutional marriage rights. This continuing viability may rely on alternative rationales such as stare decisis, equal protection, or even religion clause principles. Panelists might also choose to discuss recent First Amendment jurisprudence as it threatens to narrow the rights of same-sex spouses.

Perception Vs. Practice: A Data-Driven Look At Faculty Engagement With Open Access, Maria Deptula, Mina Ghajar
Perception Vs. Practice: A Data-Driven Look At Faculty Engagement With Open Access, Maria Deptula, Mina Ghajar
Open Access Conference
In 2024, the Rutgers Health Sciences Librarians conducted a survey targeting faculty from three schools to explore their understanding of and attitudes toward Open Access (OA) publishing. While the response rate was lower than anticipated, the insights gathered echoed global research trends: faculty widely recognized the benefits of OA, including broader dissemination, increased visibility, and enhanced impact of their work. However, understanding that self-reported data has its limitations, the librarians expanded their approach to include a more objective, data-driven analysis. Leveraging Scopus for comprehensive publication data and VOSviewer for visualizing scholarly networks, the librarians conducted a bibliometric analysis of faculty …
