The Impact Of Ceo Sociopolitical Activism On Firms’ Financial And Stakeholder Outcomes: A Critically Appraised Topic, Philip R. Stuczynski
The Impact Of Ceo Sociopolitical Activism On Firms’ Financial And Stakeholder Outcomes: A Critically Appraised Topic, Philip R. Stuczynski
Engaged Management ReView
In recent years, CEO activism has emerged as a highly visible and controversial form of executive communication. This structured literature review examines 23 peer-reviewed, ABS-rated articles published between 2017 and 2025, with the goal of synthesizing what researchers have learned about the effects of sociopolitical speech by corporate leaders. Drawing on studies from strategy, management, accounting, and finance journals, this paper explores how CEO-initiated public commentary influences investor reactions, firm performance, and stakeholder sentiment. Using the PICOC framework, the review defines CEO activism as executive speech or public commentary on controversial social or political issues which may be unrelated to …
Gender Inequality In The South Korean Workplace : Structural Barriers, Cultural Frames, And Conflicted Responses, Seorin Stella Bak
Gender Inequality In The South Korean Workplace : Structural Barriers, Cultural Frames, And Conflicted Responses, Seorin Stella Bak
Proceedings of the New York State Communication Association
Abstract
Drawing on theories of structural inequality, neoliberal ideology, and feminist resistance, the study applies an interdisciplinary framework from media, culture, and communication studies to analyze the mechanisms that sustain gendered disparities in the Korean labor market. South Korea holds the distinction of having the widest gender wage gap among all OECD nations for 30 consecutive years and has ranked last on The Economist's Glass Ceiling Index for eight consecutive years. The World Economic Forum's 2024 Global Gender Gap Report explains that South Korea ranks 94th out of 146 countries (score: 0.696), with a near-perfect score in educational attainment (0.98) …

Preventive Interventions Targeting Social Determinants Of Health: Implications For Healthcare Utilization And Cost, Audrey Wrinkle
Preventive Interventions Targeting Social Determinants Of Health: Implications For Healthcare Utilization And Cost, Audrey Wrinkle
NEXUS: The Liberty Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies
Preventive interventions targeting social determinants of health could reduce avoidable healthcare utilization and positively impact long-term cost outcomes within healthcare systems. Evidence indicates that financial and social barriers to preventive care lead to delayed treatment and increased use of high-cost healthcare services in the long term. Preventive interventions focusing on upstream social factors, like home-based care and digital health programs, could improve patient outcomes and reduce avoidable service utilization. Also, incorporating social needs data into policy creation could promote better allocation of healthcare resources. This research highlights the role of prevention-focused strategies in promoting cost-effective, sustainable healthcare delivery.

Le Défi Mondial : Panorama Comparatif Des Soins Néonatals Au Maroc Et Aux États‑Unis, Manasi Joshi
NEXUS: The Liberty Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies
Root Cause Investigation Memory For Artificial Intelligence (Ai) Agents, Necati Cehreli
Root Cause Investigation Memory For Artificial Intelligence (Ai) Agents, Necati Cehreli
Defensive Publications Series
Artificial intelligence (AI) troubleshooting agents can lose root cause analysis (RCA) investigation state when conversation history is compacted or an investigation is interrupted and resumed. To address the challenges of maintaining RCA investigation state, the techniques presented herein implement a memory system that maintains structured RCA memory outside the chat transcript. The memory tracks diagnostic coverage, unexplored evidence, and candidate root causes; refreshes stale state before compaction; and updates the investigation when new evidence is added. A candidate-cause ledger supports final causal adjudication, reducing the likelihood that a downstream event is mistaken for the underlying root cause.

Determinants Of Ai Adoption In Banking: Evidence From Tunisia, Rahma Khattab, Sami Bacha
Arab Economic and Business Journal
This study investigates the factors influencing customers’ intentions to adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI) banking services in Tunisa. Building on an integrated framework combining the Technology Acceptance Model, Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology, Theory of Planned Behavior, Perceived Risk Theory, and Diffusion of Innovation Theory, the study investigates how perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use (, awareness, knowledge, attitude, subjective norms, trust, and perceived risk influence AI adoption intentions. Using survey data from 400 Tunisian retail banking customers and applying regression analysis, the findings show that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, subjective norms, and trust positively and …
Forecasting Demand At Physical Facilities Using Diverse Heterogeneous Real-World Data, Kapil Parakh, Daniel Klein
Forecasting Demand At Physical Facilities Using Diverse Heterogeneous Real-World Data, Kapil Parakh, Daniel Klein
Defensive Publications Series
Unpredictable fluctuations in customer demand at physical facilities can have substantial operational impacts. Current demand forecasting approaches tend to be simplistic and reactive as they rely primarily on internal historical data, which provides inadequate accuracy to support future resource allocation. This disclosure describes techniques to provide accurate medium-term demand forecasts for physical operational facilities by synthesizing a diverse set of relevant real-world factors obtained from a fusion of numerous heterogeneous data sources related to human practices and needs. The factors can be continually aggregated and input to a suitably trained machine learning model trained to generate specific actionable output designed …
Hybrid Reaction Bridge, Hp Inc
Hybrid Reaction Bridge, Hp Inc
Defensive Publications Series
Hybrid meeting platforms give remote attendees structured side-channel mechanisms—virtual hand raises, emoji reactions, poll responses—that are entirely absent for in-room participants, whose non-verbal behaviour remains visible only inside the physical room. This paper describes a bridging system that observes in-room participants through a shared room camera, detects a defined vocabulary of natural non-verbal signals (nodding, head-shaking, raised hands, and postural cues), and translates each qualified signal into a corresponding structured reaction event within the conferencing platform’s existing reaction model. The result is a unified reaction channel in which in-room and remote participants are represented with equivalent expressive bandwidth, without requiring …
Intent-Aware Human Motion Interpretation, Hp Inc
Intent-Aware Human Motion Interpretation, Hp Inc
Defensive Publications Series
The central challenge of camera-based gesture input in video meetings is distinguishing deliberate interaction gestures from the natural hand motion that accompanies speech. This paper describes a system that meets that challenge through an intent classification engine evaluating kinematic, temporal, postural, spatial, and speech-aligned features over sliding temporal windows. Qualified gestures pass to a gesture-to-structure transformation pipeline that produces clean, labelled diagram elements—not freeform ink—and renders them as first-class shared content within the conferencing platform, visible to all participants in real time, without requiring specialised hardware.
Interaction Claim Standard, Brian Harber
Interaction Claim Standard, Brian Harber
Defensive Publications Series
Independently implemented systems increasingly produce, exchange, and interpret claims about AI interactions: what participated, which interaction the supporting evidence concerns, and how far an assertion reaches. Where no shared requirements govern these claims, agreement on their meaning across implementations remains incidental rather than normative—each implementation may interpret the same assertion differently. This document defines the Interaction Claim Standard, a standard for expressing and interpreting claims about AI interactions across independently implemented systems. It standardizes four normative objects: claim semantics, interaction-specific evidentiary binding, claim boundaries, and normative interpretation requirements. Together, these establish cross-implementation agreement on the meaning of claims, their evidentiary …
Integrated Clamp Interface For Joining Mjf Additively Manufactured Components To Non‑Mjf Structural Members, Hp Inc
Defensive Publications Series
This disclosure describes an integrated fastening architecture that enables direct attachment of Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) additively manufactured components to structural elements manufactured from other materials. The solution uses a clamp geometry incorporated into the MJF component, a guided fastening mechanism, and controlled mating faces. The design enables rapid assembly, repeatable retention performance, and non-permanent attachment while minimizing additional hardware. Unlike adhesive bonding, interference fits, or external clamps, the approach separates assembly torque requirements from retention-force generation, improving manufacturing robustness and reducing sensitivity to torque variation. Figure 1a, Figure 1b, and Figure 2 illustrate representative fastening concepts and the screw-held …
Dynamic Exponent-Mantissa Repurposing For Adaptive Microscaling (Demr-Am) Architecture, N/A
Dynamic Exponent-Mantissa Repurposing For Adaptive Microscaling (Demr-Am) Architecture, N/A
Defensive Publications Series
This publication details a hardware architecture and data processing methodology for dynamic exponent and mantissa repurposing, tailored to facilitate adaptive microscaling within machine learning accelerators. The described methodology addresses the quantization errors and memory bandwidth constraints that frequently emerge during the deployment of large-scale artificial intelligence models. By dynamically repurposing redundant exponent bits into additional mantissa bits specifically for outlier values within a given tensor block, the system dramatically enhances numerical precision without expanding the core memory footprint of the data block. A dedicated hardware decoder can be positioned immediately prior to a dot-product engine to re-route electrical signals and …
Tax Equity In The Era Of Paid College Athletes, Kathryn Kisska-Schulze, Adam Epstein
Tax Equity In The Era Of Paid College Athletes, Kathryn Kisska-Schulze, Adam Epstein
Brooklyn Law Review
This Article examines the growing use of narrowly tailored state income tax exemptions as a tool to attract elite collegiate athletic talent, focusing on Arkansas’s amended Student-Athlete Publicity Rights Act. Situating this development within the constitutional frameworks of the federal Equal Protection Clause and state uniformity provisions, it analyzes both the economic motivations and legislative intent underlying such policies. As name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights and emerging revenue-sharing models continue to reshape college athlete compensation, states are increasingly pursuing innovative strategies to maintain the competitiveness of their public institutions. Arkansas has emerged as a first mover in this space, …
Postcolonial Private Law, Debadatta Bose
Postcolonial Private Law, Debadatta Bose
Brooklyn Law Review
This Article provides the missing normative foundation by linking dynamic due process and rigorous rational basis to deliberative democracy. Rigorous rational basis, in essence, requires that majorities offer what deliberative democracy calls publicly accessible reasons—those capable of engaging fellow citizens across lines of difference—for restrictions on liberties. Courts, from this perspective, legitimately referee inevitable democratic conflicts in our pluralistic society. A Court that helps restore reasoned and productive politics cannot come soon enough.
