Organizational Approach To Collecting, Monitoring, Analyzing Workplace Violence Data And Providing Support To Staff Affected, Brandi C. Bosley, Amanda L. Schweng, Shanan K. Sims Feb 2026

Organizational Approach To Collecting, Monitoring, Analyzing Workplace Violence Data And Providing Support To Staff Affected, Brandi C. Bosley, Amanda L. Schweng, Shanan K. Sims

Creating Healthy Work Environments (CHWE)

Significance – Healthcare workers are five times more likely to experience workplace violence than other industries, and 73% all non-fatal workplace violence injuries resulting in missed days of work occur in healthcare settings (OSHA, 2021). WPV costs facilities an estimated $428.5 million nationwide (Van Des Bos et al., 2017). WPV is attributed to burnout, decreased employee morale, increased absenteeism, and increased staff turnover, negatively impacting patient care (Somani et al., 2021).

Background: The organization is a Level 1 Trauma hospital with 573 beds. The Workplace Violence Committee formed in 2018 in response to growing workplace violence incidents. The committee adopted …

Outburst Characteristics Of Transient  Low-Mass X-Ray Binary 4u 1608-52, Can Güngör

Turkish Journal of Physics

We present a detailed analysis of the long-term X-ray light curve of 4U 1608–52, focusing on fast-rising exponential-decay (FRED) outbursts, low-intensity states, and quiescent intervals. By calibrating the onset times of the outbursts, we identify three distinct classes for the FRED-type events: (i) the long-high outbursts, exceeding ~50 d in duration with peak count rates above ~40 cnt s-1; (ii) the short-medium outbursts, with durations of ~20 d and peak count rates of ~30-50 cnt s-1; and (iii) the short-low outbursts, also lasting ~20 d but reaching only ~20-30 cnt s-1 at peak. Furthermore, we examine the relation between preoutburst …

Turkish Journal of Physics

New experimental data on the elastic scattering of the nuclear process 15N+11B at an energy of Elab=26.25 MeV were obtained on the DC-60 cyclotron of the INP RK. Based on a semi-microscopic analysis of the interaction of an accelerated 15N ion with 1p-shell nuclei 11B the effectiveness of the new B3Y-Fetal potential was studied. . The difference between the B3Y-Fetal potential and the traditional Yukawa potentials (M3Y-Reid and M3Y-Paris) is that its density-dependent parameters are determined from the saturation condition of nuclear matter at low energy. Analysis was performed on double folding optical model (DFOM) and so no for other …

Relationship Between Transportation Availability And Obstetric Access In Predicting United States Maternal Death Rates, Veronica N. Trueblood Feb 2026

Relationship Between Transportation Availability And Obstetric Access In Predicting United States Maternal Death Rates, Veronica N. Trueblood

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Maternal mortality remains a significant challenge in the United States with substantial variation across counties reflecting differences in health care delivery systems and access to obstetric services. Fragmented obstetric care networks, hospital closures, and geographic barriers to care contribute to delays in prenatal and emergency obstetric services, increasing the risk of preventable maternal deaths. Guided by the social determinants of health (SDOH) framework, this quantitative cross-sectional health services study examined relationships between transportation availability, obstetric care access, and county-level maternal mortality in the United States. A national scope was required to achieve an adequate analytic sample size, as maternal mortality …

Hold Harmless For Whom? The Impact Of Covid Era Policies On School Funding, Teachers, And Students, Michah W. Rothbart, Samantha Cervantes, Amy Ellen Schwartz Feb 2026

Hold Harmless For Whom? The Impact Of Covid Era Policies On School Funding, Teachers, And Students, Michah W. Rothbart, Samantha Cervantes, Amy Ellen Schwartz

Center for Policy Research

This study evaluates the fiscal and academic consequences of New York City’s hold harmless policy during COVID-19, which aimed to stabilize school expenditures amid unexpected enrollment declines by restoring schools’ funding up to initial levels. We examine how school racial composition predicts whether or when schools receive hold harmless “treatment” and assess the impact of hold harmless on financial resources, staffing, and student outcomes, exploring heterogeneity by timing of policy announcement. Although schools with higher White student shares were no more likely than those with higher Hispanic or Black shares to receive hold harmless funds, schools with higher Black shares …

Confinement And Consent: A Comparative Analysis Of Sexual Abuse In Finnish And U.S. Prisons, Madison A. Greico Feb 2026

Confinement And Consent: A Comparative Analysis Of Sexual Abuse In Finnish And U.S. Prisons, Madison A. Greico

Binghamton University Undergraduate Journal

The Bangkok Rules and The Basic Principles for The Treatment of Prisoners are a specific outline of protections and rights for individuals( Bangkok specifically about women) within prisons adopted by the United Nations compromising states. While The United States is a leader in the United Nations and adopted this set of rules, their failures of commitment are extremely apparent. Every year, thousands of prison rapes occur behind bars in New York alone by the very guards meant to protect them. In Finland, another United Nations member, however, has virtually no record of sexual abuse within their prisons. In investigation of …

Simulation Method For Multi-Crew Construction Processes Based On Large Language Model-Powered Agent, Yifan Wang, Bin Yang, Congjun Wang Feb 2026

Simulation Method For Multi-Crew Construction Processes Based On Large Language Model-Powered Agent, Yifan Wang, Bin Yang, Congjun Wang

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Traditional construction simulation methods typically rely on predefined rules or static scheduling mechanisms, making it difficult to simulate interactive decision-making under complex constraints by dynamically adapting multi-crew construction scenarios. As a result, workforce idleness caused by process dependencies and spatial occupation fails to be solved. A simulation method for multicrew construction processes based on a LLM-powered agent was proposed. The distributed crew agents endowed with construction scenario understanding and reasoning capabilities were constructed, as well as a centralized project manager agent. A “single-manager and multiple-crew” decision-making mechanism for multi-agent interaction in construction was designed. Autonomous decision-making and coordination mechanism …

Kimmel Cancer Center Faculty Papers

Background/Objectives: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a heterogeneous hematologic malignancy with historically poor outcomes, particularly among older adults and patients harboring high-risk molecular features. Advances in genomic profiling have enabled the development of targeted therapies, reshaping treatment algorithms beyond conventional cytarabine-anthracycline induction and hypomethylating agent-based regimens. This review summarizes current evidence and emerging therapeutic strategies across four evolving areas: menin inhibition, FLT3 inhibition, IDH inhibition and treatment approaches for TP53-mutated AML. Methods: We reviewed published clinical trials, preclinical studies, and ongoing clinical trials evaluating targeted therapies in AML. Emphasis was placed on agents with regulatory approval or substantial clinical development, …

Exploring The Theoretical Foundation With Rupture And Delayed Rupture Experiments, Shi-Qing Wang, Junpeng Wang, Asal Y. Siavoshani, Cheng Liang Feb 2026

Exploring The Theoretical Foundation With Rupture And Delayed Rupture Experiments, Shi-Qing Wang, Junpeng Wang, Asal Y. Siavoshani, Cheng Liang

University Research

We carry out uniaxial continuous and step stretching of various cross-linked polymer networks to demonstrate how characteristics of rupture during continuous stretching and delayed rupture after step stretching can be used to probe the structure of the emergent kinetic activation theory of bond dissociation (KATBD) for elastomeric failure. Based on delayed rupture experiments, we show that the network lifetime tntw, taken as the incubation time tdel-rupt for delayed rupture, depends on temperature in an Arrhenius like manner and is exponentially sensitive to the degree of network stretching (depicted by the step-stretch ratio λss). Rupture at λb during continuous stretching for …
