Tymczasowy Zarząd Przymusowy – Sankcyjny Instrument Interwencjonizmu Państwa, Filip Grzegorczyk, Patrycja Życińska
internetowy Kwartalnik Antymonopolowy i Regulacyjny (internet Quarterly on Antitrust and Regulation)
Poza sankcjami stanowiącymi lustrzane odbicie systemu unijnego, ustawodawca zdecydował o wprowadzeniu środków uzupełniających, tj. tymczasowego zarządu przymusowego i zarządu w celu przejęcia własności. Rozwiązania te – w praktyce niezwykle rzadko spotykane – tak głęboko ingerują w rynek, że powinny stanowić przedmiot badań naukowych w ramach publicznego prawa gospodarczego. …

Plants, Soils, and Climate Faculty Publications
Topsoil features within a depth of 0–10 cm are vital for making soil management decisions that affect crop production. However, the use of these soil features to predict soil organic carbon (SOC) at 10–20 cm requires further investigation. The study aims to predict SOC at 10–20 cm using total nitrogen (total N), pH, cation exchange capacity (CEC), and SOC at 0–10 cm and select a suitable model for predicting SOC. This study was conducted using data from a long-term tillage, winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)-fallow experiment established in autumn 1970. Treatments included moldboard plow, stubble mulch, no-till, and native …

Intelligent Mobile Application For Alzheimer's Detection And Patient's Life Management, Dilena Majid Bajalan, Muayad Sadik Croock
Iraqi Journal of Computers, Communications, Control and Systems Engineering
The defining feature of Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a gradual decline in symptoms over several years. This decline reduces the effectiveness of daily routines and leads to memory loss. Among the challenges posed by memory loss are difficulties in remembering names, faces, locations, and other important details. This study introduces an intelligent mobile application designed to assist in managing a patient's daily life, with an emphasis on routine activities and monitoring episodes of memory loss. Additionally, the application aims to detect Alzheimer's disease (AD) using a proposed deep learning model. The suggested Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) deep learning model is …

Federated Learning With Deep Learning: A Comprehensive Survey, Sarah H. Mnkash, Faiz A. Alawy, Israa T. Ali
Iraqi Journal of Computers, Communications, Control and Systems Engineering
Federated Learning (FL) introduces a decentralized machine learning paradigm where model training occurs directly on user devices, ensuring data privacy by keeping sensitive information local. This approach ensures data privacy and security by keeping all sensitive or personally identifiable information local to the device, thereby eliminating the need to transfer or centralize raw data. In this survey, we examine federated deep learning — its challenges, recent developments, application domains, privacy preservation strategies, and future trends. We will give some primitive reference papers of the heterogeneity of statistics and systems, communication cost, fairness, and trust. Applications in health, Internet of Things …

Enhancement Dijkstra Algorithm Approach For Path Planning Navigation, Ali Alyasin, Eyad I. Abbas, Jabbar K. Mohammed
Iraqi Journal of Computers, Communications, Control and Systems Engineering
Mobile robots are developing rapidly compared for modern information technology and are used in many fields, such as medicine, industry, military services, and all public services. However, the challenges facing these technologies are significant, including positioning, environmental awareness, path planning, and motion control. Greedy algorithm, Dijkstra algorithm is used for make the path planning better process for ensure increased navigation efficiency. The algorithm uses graphs to find the shortest path between two nodes in a weighted graph by repeating the process. calculating how far things have gone. The initial process of calculating the shortest path speeds up the proposed algorithm's …

A Lightweight Cnn Baseline For Offline Handwritten Digit Recognition On Mnist: Design And Evaluation, Raid Ismael Mohammed
Iraqi Journal of Computers, Communications, Control and Systems Engineering
Handwritten digit recognition is a classic computer vision task, often used as a benchmark for image classification models. This paper presents a lightweight convolutional neural network (CNN) baseline for offline handwritten digit recognition using the MNIST dataset. The proposed CNN has a simple architecture (two convolutional layers with max-pooling, followed by a flattening and two fully connected layers) and is designed to be computationally efficient while achieving high accuracy. We train the model with standard settings (Adam optimizer, batch size 128, ∼10 epochs) and obtain ∼98–99% recognition accuracy on MNIST. We provide a detailed evaluation including training curves and a …
Bringing Worlds Together: How Social Studies Teachers Make Content Meaningful, Harley A. Payne
Bringing Worlds Together: How Social Studies Teachers Make Content Meaningful, Harley A. Payne
Honors College Theses
Secondary educators in social studies classes face the challenge of maintaining the attention of dozens of students during instruction, often on content that seems irrelevant or unimportant. Educators must find ways to emphasize that the content their students are disinterested in is useful and crucial for their development into adults. Research suggests that bridging the gap between the classroom and the real world improves classroom engagement (Cooper, 2014; Tagliaferro, 2012). Students who are engaged and exert more effort in class derive academic benefits, such as placement in advanced pathways and increased test scores (Carbonaro, 2005). Civics education and the inclusion …

Octopuses of the genus Scaeurgus inhabit upper bathyal benthic habitats and are composed of five recognized species. In this study, we conducted morphological and molecular phylogenetic analyses of two individuals of Scaeurgus and provided additional field observations of the genus in seamounts of the Nazca and Salas y Gómez ridges (southeast Pacific Ocean) over the last six years. Specifically, two specimens of Scaeurgus were collected at 234 m depth in 2019 during the EPIC oceanographic cruise onboard the R/V Mirai (JAMSTEC, Japan), and five other specimens were video recorded at depths between 210 and 340 m during three oceanographic expeditions …

Hyperoxia is both an essential therapy and a contributor to lung injury in acute respiratory distress syndrome. We hypothesized that adult female rats are relatively protected from hyperoxia-induced acute lung injury (HALI) compared with males and that this protection is associated with sex-dependent differences in lung mitochondrial bioenergetics and H2O2 production. Adult rats were exposed to room air (normoxia) or hyperoxia (>95% O2) for up to 60 h. Lung injury was assessed by pleural effusion, lung wet weight, pulmonary vascular filtration coefficient (Kf), histologic injury scores, and cleaved caspase-3 (CC3) staining. …
