Information Sciences Letters
In this paper, we propose an executive regulations model for public university employees in Jordan, who are a crucial part of the university community alongside faculty members and students. With the increasing shift towards electronic administration and e-learning, it is important to update the service system and regulations to keep up with these developments. However, the executive regulations for university employees have stagnated and failed to adapt, resulting in practical problems. Therefore, this study focuses on appointment, discipline, and functional conditions for staff and provides suggestions for improvement.

Polypropylene Composites Reinforced By Marine Posidonia Fiber Waste: Effect Of Silane And Alkali Treatment, Saoussen Zannen, Mohammad Kanan, Mohamed Ben Hassen, Mohammed Khouj, Faouzi Sakli, Ahmad S. Barham
Information Sciences Letters
This paper investigates the effects of chemical treatment and the reinforcement rate on the mechanical properties of polypropylene composites reinforced with Posidonia waste fibers. Increasing the reinforcement rate from 20% to 30% improved Young’s modulus and the flexural modulus of the composite. Silane treatment had a positive effect on all the mechanical properties of the composite; on the other hand, the alkali treatment improved the tensile strength but decreased the flexural property of the composite. The greatest Young’s and flexural moduli were obtained in the case of 30% reinforcement treated with silane. The increases in these properties were 57.95% and …

A New Learning Theory-Based Framework For Combining Flow State With Game Elements To Promote Engagement And Learning In Serious Games, Hussein K. H. Abd El-Sattar
Information Sciences Letters
Serious games (SGs) are seen as a clear aid and a potential technique for motivating learners to engage in active and beneficial learning. The creation of SGs is a difficult task. Learning theory, learning aspects (pedagogy and learning materials), and game design are three cross-disciplinary issues related to successful SG design. Numerous studies have looked at this matter and provided guidelines and frameworks for resolving important research concerns. We discovered, however, that research hardly ever discusses the roots of learning theory in SGs. Unfortunately, designing proper SGs is still more of an art than a science. The science of SGs …

Finding The Why: Trauma's Origins And Effects In Morrison's The Bluest Eye, Hope Lopez
Finding The Why: Trauma's Origins And Effects In Morrison's The Bluest Eye, Hope Lopez
Theses and Dissertations
This thesis analyzes the effects of Toni Morrison’s first novel, The Bluest Eye, on its readers and the public discourse surrounding the central issue of systemic racism and incest. The central focus of the analysis is trauma in the novel: how Morrison captures that trauma in writing, how the reader encounters and interprets that trauma, and the effects of that trauma on the narrative and the reader. To construct this argument, I apply the lenses of reader response criticism, psychoanalysis, and trauma studies to the novel.
Morrison expressed concern that readers would miss the crucial message of why the …

BACKGROUND: Health sciences libraries in medical schools, academic health centers, health care networks, and hospitals have established institutional repositories (IRs) to showcase their research achievements, increase visibility, expand the reach of institutional scholarship, and disseminate unique content. Newer roles for IRs include publishing open access journals, tracking researcher productivity, and serving as repositories for data sharing. Many repository managers oversee their IR with limited assistance from others at their institution. Therefore, IR practitioners find it valuable to network and learn from colleagues at other institutions.

The Impact Of Collaboration, Problem Solving, And Creativity On Computer Programming Education For Middle School Girls, Amanda Meek
Dissertations
Despite high scores and abilities, girls lose interest in science and math throughout middle school. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs in the computer science research field will grow 19% by 2026; however, only 18% of the bachelor’s degrees in computer science are earned by women in the United States (ComputerScience.org, 2021). New technology and inventions are being created without the benefit of more diverse perspectives and input from females. There is a need to engage girls and maintain their interest throughout middle school and beyond. Additional research needs to be conducted about the impact and best practices …
