Internet Journal of Allied Health Sciences and Practice

Problem: Physiotherapy research increasingly requires methodological precision and clinical relevance. Among available designs, the randomized crossover model offers distinct advantages by allowing each participant to serve as their own control, thereby reducing inter-individual variability and improving statistical efficiency. Purpose: This perspective article discusses how appropriately designed crossover trials can enhance the quality and interpretability of physiotherapy research when applied under stable clinical conditions and with adequate washout periods. Methods: Three representative crossover studies illustrate these principles across physiotherapy specialties. In musculoskeletal practice, manual therapy for thoracic pain demonstrated measurable reductions in paraspinal electromyographic activity following counterstrain compared with spinal manipulation. …

A Comparator-Free Architecture For Maximum Product-Exponent Detection Via Or-Bucketing, N/A, N/A Jun 2026

A Comparator-Free Architecture For Maximum Product-Exponent Detection Via Or-Bucketing, N/A, N/A

Defensive Publications Series

This publication describes a hardware architecture for floating-point dot-product arrays that performs exponent alignment using a comparator-free OR-bucketing topology. The architecture uses spatial unrolling to create a single-cycle, parallel-prefix logic tree that is purely combinational. The design exploits algebraic properties to cancel out exponent biases during alignment, which allows the primary timing path to remain completely unsigned and free of bias subtractors. By managing excess timing slack, the system supports various operating modes for artificial intelligence accelerators, including high-throughput and high-efficiency modes. Keywords: floating-point, dot-product array, exponent alignment, OR-bucketing, spatial unrolling, bias cancellation, parallel-prefix logic, artificial intelligence accelerator.

Agi Robotics Safety And Alignment Framework, Divya Garikapati Jun 2026

Agi Robotics Safety And Alignment Framework, Divya Garikapati

Defensive Publications Series

General-purpose robots designed to switch between diverse roles, such as a warehouse mover and a domestic caregiver, may lack a formal, computer-implemented framework for contextual safety verification and for building an overall safe case. This can result in a disconnect between high-level commands and the robot's physical capabilities. A safety and alignment framework is provided that can employ a cascading logic chain, acting as a physical-semantic link, to validate actions before execution. This process can evaluate a command against structured definitions of the robot's operational design domain, its assigned functional role, its specific hardware embodiment, its environment and role in …

Rendering Live Data In Pre-Recorded Video Using Dynamic 3d Topology Extraction, Nikita Agarwal Jun 2026

Rendering Live Data In Pre-Recorded Video Using Dynamic 3d Topology Extraction, Nikita Agarwal

Defensive Publications Series

This technology creates a way to show live, real-time information—such as current traffic or crowd sizes—directly inside a video that was recorded in the past.

The system works by following these steps:

  • It analyzes a regular video to figure out the 3D shape of the environment.
  • At the same time, it finds live data for the specific location shown in that video.
  • It turns that live data into 3D images and places them into the video so they stay in the right spot, even if the camera moves.
  • It uses depth sensing to make sure the live data is hidden …

A Multi-Phase Pipeline For Query Deconstruction, Evidence Gathering, And Narrative Composition, Nathaniel Grabaskas, Levi Zombori, Megan Pusey, Michael Bausor, Liam Roche Jun 2026

A Multi-Phase Pipeline For Query Deconstruction, Evidence Gathering, And Narrative Composition, Nathaniel Grabaskas, Levi Zombori, Megan Pusey, Michael Bausor, Liam Roche

Defensive Publications Series

Some information retrieval systems may provide fragmented or surface-level answers for complex queries that can benefit from reasoning beyond simple keyword matching. This describes systems and methods for a multi-phase knowledge processing pipeline. The pipeline can operate in discrete stages: a strategy phase may deconstruct a user’s query to generate a research plan, a research phase may gather and synthesize source-grounded evidence into a structured dossier, and a consolidation phase can compose a final narrative answer from the dossier’s contents. This modular architecture can separate query planning, evidence gathering, and presentation. The process can transform a complex user need into …

Defensive Publications Series

A method (300) for distributed event queue processing includes receiving events via an application programming interface (208) and storing the events in a partitioned database queue backed by a relational database. The method includes periodically discovering queues with pending events using a query that performs atomic detection of queue enumeration and pending event status without cache-based timestamp tracking. Queue partitions are assigned to readers using epoch-based coordination and leader election. The method includes processing queues using a shared thread pool with circulating reader tasks and adaptive backoff. Events are atomically fetched and marked as consumed using epoch-fenced queries that validate …

Aidl — An Ai Directive Language And Multi-Agent Governance Model, Niels S. Goldstein Jun 2026

Aidl — An Ai Directive Language And Multi-Agent Governance Model, Niels S. Goldstein

Defensive Publications Series

AIDL (AI Directive Language) is a compact, machine-readable language for expressing the rules that govern the behavior of one or more AI agents, together with a multi-agent governance model the language parameterizes. The system assigns agents operational roles; accumulates per-agent reputation from observed behavior; mutates roles as reputation crosses thresholds; resolves conflicts through reputation-weighted adjudication that discounts correlation between agents sharing a model provider; and enforces least-privilege, write-scoped execution with drift detection and mandatory audit logging — yielding a Zero Trust posture for AI agents in which authority is earned and continuously revocable.

Deconstruction I: The Fallacy of the Passive Instrument and the Catch-22 of Reductionist Verification

The primary contention of the legacy critique is anchored in a familiar defense mechanism: “The simulations and outputs shown are not empirical demonstrations of new physics… they are generated by equations chosen in the code itself—not measured from physical quantum hardware experiments.”

This argument appears, at first glance, to be the very model of scientific sobriety. It wears the mask of empirical rigor. However, when we apply a surgical phase-space analysis to this statement, we expose a foundational logical contradiction—an institutional catch-22 designed to keep the …

Decentralized Additive Synthesis Orchestra Governed By Biometric Phase Fields For Collective Acoustic Entrainment, Frédéric Renault Jun 2026

Decentralized Additive Synthesis Orchestra Governed By Biometric Phase Fields For Collective Acoustic Entrainment, Frédéric Renault

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure describes a method for procedural acoustic entrainment and generative multi-user music synthesis in which the oscillators of discrete mobile devices are governed by continuous scalar phase fields derived from immutable biometric birth ephemeris. Each device acts as one voice in a decentralized additive synthesizer: the fundamental frequency, waveform timbre, and rhythmic LFO rate are determined by the user's biometric personal data (biological frequency ω_bio, biological polarity, and Maya Tzolkin galactic tone), while the harmonic relationships between simultaneously audible voices are determined by the pairwise resonance metric k = 1/(1 + |sin(Δφ)|) computed from the phase difference between users' …

Tzolkin Kin-Based Oracle Matrices Combined With Phase Interference Metrics For Decentralized Social Coordination, Frédéric Renault Jun 2026

Tzolkin Kin-Based Oracle Matrices Combined With Phase Interference Metrics For Decentralized Social Coordination, Frédéric Renault

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure describes a social coordination system combining a mathematical projection of the Maya Tzolkin calendar (260-day cycle, 20 seals × 13 tones) with a continuous wave-phase interference metric for peer-to-peer social matching in decentralized networks without centralized social graphs.

The Kin computation uses a 52-year modulo lookup mechanism (KIN_MESES monthly offset array + KIN_SUMA 52-year cycle dictionary) rather than standard Julian Day conversions, providing a computationally efficient and offset-correctable mapping from Gregorian dates to Tzolkin Kin numbers.

The resonance metric `k = 1 / (1 + |sin(Δφ)|)` operates on personal phase values φ_i derived from birth ephemeris. Critically, the …

Biometric Birth Ephemeris As Deterministic Parameters For Shamir Secret Sharing Key Recovery, Frédéric Renault Jun 2026

Biometric Birth Ephemeris As Deterministic Parameters For Shamir Secret Sharing Key Recovery, Frédéric Renault

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure describes a method for deriving cryptographic identity keys and Shamir Secret Sharing (SSSS) parameters deterministically from biometric birth and conception ephemeris data, eliminating central biometric storage.

Two distinct canonical ASCII strings serve as key derivation inputs:

SALT (birth anchor): `YYYYMMDDHHMM_LAT_LON_POLARITY_WEIGHT`   Example: `198504171530_48.86_2.35_0_3.2`

PEPPER (conception anchor): `YYYYMMDDHHMM_LAT_LON_WEIGHT`   Example: `198407110830_48.86_2.35_3.2`

If the exact conception timestamp is unknown, it is algorithmically deduced from the birth timestamp using a weight-modulated gestation formula: `gestation_days = 280.0 + (birth_weight_kg − 3.5) × 4.0`.

The SALT and PEPPER, combined with an email identifier, are fed into a Key Derivation Function to produce a 32-byte seed …

4d Opaque Hexagonal Geo-Addressing Scheme Using Dynamic Goldberg Polyhedra And Chinese Remainder Theorem Encoding, Frédéric Renault Jun 2026

4d Opaque Hexagonal Geo-Addressing Scheme Using Dynamic Goldberg Polyhedra And Chinese Remainder Theorem Encoding, Frédéric Renault

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure describes a compact, opaque geographic addressing format ("a4l:") for hexagonal cells of a Goldberg polyhedron tessellation of the Earth's surface. Unlike static geographic grids, this framework applies a continuous temporal rotation (precession) to the tessellation lattice using the Golden Ratio (φ = 1.6180339...) as the rotation period divisor, creating a 4-dimensional address (spatial + temporal) that cannot be decoded without knowledge of the exact Unix timestamp at event creation.

Format: `a4l:PH` where PP = pentagon identifier (00-11), QQQQ/RRRR = axial hex coordinates offset-encoded as 16-bit unsigned hexadecimal values.

The dynamic grid makes the addressing scheme privacy-preserving by design: …

Deterministic Personal Phase Computation From Birth Ephemeris Data For Social Resonance Matching, Frédéric Renault Jun 2026

Deterministic Personal Phase Computation From Birth Ephemeris Data For Social Resonance Matching, Frédéric Renault

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure describes a method for computing a deterministic personal phase value φ_i from birth data (date, time, geographic coordinates) without storing biometric information centrally.

Formula: φ_i = fmod(T_birth_UTC, T_year) / T_year × 2π + (lon_birth / 360) × T_day + Δφ_pentagon

Where T_year = 365.25636 × 86400 s (sidereal year), T_day = 86400 s, and Δφ_pentagon is an offset derived from the nearest pentagonal node of a Goldberg polyhedron GP(n,m) tessellation of the Earth (12 nodes at icosahedral symmetry axes).

A pairwise resonance metric k = 1 / (1 + |sin(φ_i − φ_j)|) measures harmonic alignment between two individuals, …

Does The Availability Of An Additional Set Of Bunker Gear Impact Firefighter Health, Safety, And Operational Readiness?, Ryan Riley Jun 2026

Does The Availability Of An Additional Set Of Bunker Gear Impact Firefighter Health, Safety, And Operational Readiness?, Ryan Riley

Certified Public Manager® Applied Research

Firefighting is a complex and inherently dangerous profession. Firefighters today face a growing array of occupational hazards, not just from the effects of being exposed to fire and smoke, but also from the personal protective gear they wear, commonly referred to as “bunker” or “turnout” gear. While this gear is designed to protect firefighters in dangerous environments, prolonged use and repeated exposure to smoke, chemicals, and products of combustion can compromise the gear. Research has shown that bunker gear contains and can also retain cancer-causing chemicals. To this end, this paper examines whether the availability of an additional set of …

Biologically Informed Negative Samplingfor Antibody Chain Pairing Classification, Ishita Singh Jun 2026

Biologically Informed Negative Samplingfor Antibody Chain Pairing Classification, Ishita Singh

Computer Science Senior Theses

Antibody heavy and light chain (H/L) pairing is fundamental to antigen recognition and stability. While single-cell sequencing preserves native pairing information, widely used bulk repertoire and spatial transcriptomics platforms do not, motivating the need for efficient ML methods to infer H/L pairing. Training a binary classifier for this task faces the methodological challenge of a lack of true biological negatives, since natural selection eliminates B cells with incompatible H/L pairs.

In this thesis, I introduce a biologically informed negative sampling strategy for H/L pairing classification, drawing on known V-gene biases in heavy and light chain pairing. Pseudo-negatives are constructed by …

Mimic: A Multimodal Dataset For Affective Incongruity In Video, Ethan M. Baird Jun 2026

Mimic: A Multimodal Dataset For Affective Incongruity In Video, Ethan M. Baird

Computer Science Senior Theses

This thesis investigates the computational challenges of constructing a database for affective incongruity, exploring the difficulties in automating the collection of contradictory affective states. Capturing these incongruities is essential for advancing Vision-Language Models (VLMs) and sentiment analysis, which struggle to interpret signals deviating from basic emotional archetypes. Curating non-congruent affect provides the data necessary for models to navigate complex social contexts, which is critical for applications like automated Audio Description (AD) for the visually impaired and nuanced Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). To capture these signals, two distinct methodologies were employed. The first utilized a tripartite decomposition of video data, isolating textual, …

Disaster Justice: Queer And Disabled Mobilities And Infrastructures Of Care In The Pacific Northwest, Rachel Springer Jun 2026

Disaster Justice: Queer And Disabled Mobilities And Infrastructures Of Care In The Pacific Northwest, Rachel Springer

Dissertations and Theses

This dissertation examines the social, political, and environmental pressures that drive LGBTQ+ migration to the Pacific Northwest and the social infrastructures people find on arrival. Drawing on thirty-four semi-structured interviews with LGBTQ+ adults who relocated between 2022 and 2025, it argues that these movements are best understood as responses to slow-onset disasters produced by the compounding interaction of legislative targeting and infrastructural violence.

State-level legislation targeting LGBTQ+ people—particularly transgender individuals—has fractured the geography of safety in the U.S., producing a landscape where civil rights, healthcare access, and everyday security vary dramatically across space. For those navigating these conditions at the …

Cohort studies are often challenged by incomplete adherence to sampling regimens, limiting the full capture of disease burden. We describe the detection of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections achieved in a birth cohort using a combination of weekly nasal sample testing and serology. The Pediatric Respiratory and Enteric Viral Acquisition and Immunogenesis Longitudinal Cohort followed 245 maternal-child dyads from birth to age 18 to 24 months. Weekly mid-turbinate nasal swabs were tested for RSV using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Serum was tested for RSV pre-fusion F IgG and IgA antibody at age 6 weeks and biannually from 6 to …

Bullying, Early Sexual Debut, And Sexual Health Behaviors Among Adolescents In New York City, Valentina I. Ramirez Jun 2026

Bullying, Early Sexual Debut, And Sexual Health Behaviors Among Adolescents In New York City, Valentina I. Ramirez

Dissertations and Theses

Adolescent sexual and reproductive health remains a critical public health priority in the United States, particularly given the persistent burden of HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among young people. Adolescents and young adults account for a disproportionate share of STI cases, reflecting ongoing gaps in prevention, early detection, treatment, and equitable access to sexual health care and services. These patterns are shaped not only by individual behaviors but also by broader social, structural, and developmental contexts that influence adolescents’ opportunities to engage in preventive sexual health care.

This dissertation examined associations between early sexual debut, experiences of bullying, and …

Designing Cost-Effective Quadrupedal Service Robots For Disability Aid, Kieran Pazmino, Akira Zone, Ryan Toy, Cyrus Wong Jun 2026

Designing Cost-Effective Quadrupedal Service Robots For Disability Aid, Kieran Pazmino, Akira Zone, Ryan Toy, Cyrus Wong

Interdisciplinary Design Senior Theses

With aging populations and the increased rate of disability diagnosis in the United States, the economy has taken on an elevated toll, as fewer are able to work, including caretakers. Give the rise in unpaid time put in by the average caretaker, it is necessary to determine ways of reducing this burden, for the caretaker and also for elderly and disabled people. Individuals who service dogs for their daily lives face substantial financial and personal responsibilities, on top of their own medical and living costs. This project proposed a wheeled quadrupedal robotic service dog, designed primarily for mobility assistance. In …
