Technical Disclosure: A Framework For Pre-Geometric Holographic Emergence And Lorentz Metric Genesis, Christopher L. Eckes Jun 2026

Technical Disclosure: A Framework For Pre-Geometric Holographic Emergence And Lorentz Metric Genesis, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

This paper presents a formal conceptual architecture for a background-independent, pre-geometric universe wherein three-dimensional spacetime (\(\mathbb{R}^{3}\)) emerges dynamically from a bounded, non-local two-dimensional information substrate (\(\mathbb{R}^{2}\)). We postulate that the fundamental constituents of reality are one-dimensional standing wave oscillations operating under pure sinusoidal constraints (\(1\text{D}\)). When mapped onto a bounded, curved two-dimensional boundary matrix, these quantum wave functions undergo continuous, non-local superposition and constructive interference. Past a critical localized information density threshold, this matrix crowding forces a phase transition: the overlapping wave states collapse and localize, synthesizing discrete particle-phase coordinates that construct the three-dimensional macro-world (\(X, Y, Z\)). Furthermore, we …

The Metropolitan Ethical Hive Network (M-Ehn): A Decentralized Cognitive Architecture For Fault-Tolerant Urban Logistics, Christopher L. Eckes Jun 2026

The Metropolitan Ethical Hive Network (M-Ehn): A Decentralized Cognitive Architecture For Fault-Tolerant Urban Logistics, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

Highly integrated metropolitan smart cities are increasingly vulnerable to cascading systemic failures, adversarial data poisoning, and the centralized manipulation of critical control software. This paper introduces the Metropolitan Ethical Hive Network (M-EHN), a decentralized cyber-physical architecture for autonomous urban resource management. The M-EHN decouples real-time edge orchestration from macro-logistics optimization across a three-tiered autonomous hierarchy. To eliminate remote exploitation vectors, a physically isolated, ASIC-driven hardware validation core enforces hard-coded safety invariants through transient, zero-knowledge cryptographic handshakes. By shifting system boundaries from volatile software configurations to immutable gate-geometry, the M-EHN ensures fault-tolerant infrastructure operations resilient against both targeted cyber-warfare and administrative …

The Synapse-Net Macro-Architecture: An Integrated, Zero-Vent Framework For Decentralized Interstellar Transit, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

Isolated deep-space exploration and long-duration terrestrial survival architectures are traditionally limited by systemic fragmentation, where propulsion, lifesupport, computational processing, and material reclamation operate as discrete, loss-heavy sub-units. This paper introduces the Synapse-Net Macro-Architecture, an un-gatekept, highly integrated engineering ecosystem that unifies exotic propulsion dynamics, solid-state nutritional synthesis, analog wave-based computing, and atomic hydrocarbon recycling into a single thermodynamic loop.

This paper establishes the structural interfaces, data routing protocols, and cross-system mass-energy linkages between four fundamental open-source baselines: the Tension-Line Fusion Tug, the Elemental Transmutation Replicator, the Cymatic Operating System, and the Hydrocarbon Reclamation Matrix. By formally mapping these cross-system dependencies, …

Aligning Sport Management Programs With The Evolving Needs Of Hopeful Intercollegiate Athletic Administrators., Kelly P. Elliott, Don Rockey

The COSMA Journal

Pathways to becoming an Athletic Director (AD) vary considerably across intercollegiate athletics, highlighting the need for sport management programs to better align academic preparation with evolving professional expectations. While prior research has explored AD roles across NCAA divisions, limited attention has been given to how academic curricula and experiential learning opportunities support students pursuing these careers. This study examines differences in sport management curricula and experiential offerings across programs affiliated with Division I FBS, Division I FCS, Division II, Division III, and NAIA institutions. Two research questions guided the study: (1) What differences exist in required coursework across divisions? and …

Drawing on current research and applied human performance principles, this session highlights practical, field-applicable strategies that tactical professionals and …

Disrupting The Crises, Kasey Henricks Jun 2026

Disrupting The Crises, Kasey Henricks

Fast Capitalism

“Disrupting the Crises” explores bankruptcies within communities who are disproportionately subjected to ticket-related debt. Whereas much sociolegal research to date emphasizes how predatory fines and fees reproduce relations of domination, I focus on departures to these arrangements that emerge through Chapter 13 specifically. Using Chicago as a case study, Chapter 13 operates within the law to stall deadlines for repayment, pause debt collection efforts, safeguard driving privileges, and shelter cars from dispossession. Although bankruptcy rarely produces lasting relief, given its high failure rates and enduring hardships, this legal injunction provides immediate protections that many prefer to inaction. Among drivers facing …

What Is To Be Done? Palestine And The Futility Of Liberal Sympathy, Emily Maureen Schneider Jun 2026

What Is To Be Done? Palestine And The Futility Of Liberal Sympathy, Emily Maureen Schneider

Fast Capitalism

These remarks were delivered on November 19, 2025 as part of a virtual panel featuring the 2025 Marxist Sociology Section of the American Sociological Association Award Winners. In the essay below, I share the core arguments of my award-winning chapter, “Negotiating Indigeneity in Hebron: Criminality, Tourism, and Liberal Settler Colonialism,” which I have since expanded upon in my forthcoming book American Jews in Palestine: Tourism and the Limits of Liberal Sympathy. Based on years of ethnographic fieldwork investigating alternative Jewish tours to Palestine, I argue that liberal identity politics, namely a preoccupation with Indigeneity and race that does not challenge …

Football’S Climate Own Goal: The Case For Abolishing The Fifa World Cup, Toby Miller, Joan Pedro-Carañana Jun 2026

Football’S Climate Own Goal: The Case For Abolishing The Fifa World Cup, Toby Miller, Joan Pedro-Carañana

Fast Capitalism

This paper criticizes the environmental devastation and pervasive greenwashing associated with corporate football, with a particular focus on the FIFA men’s World Cup Finals. Analysis of past World Cups—Germany (2006), South Africa (2010), Brazil (2014), and particularly Qatar (2022)—reveals a consistent failure by FIFA and host nations to meet climate goals. Furthermore, major teams and governing bodies like UEFA and FIFA depend on sponsors from environmentally-damaging industries that utilize these sports for green cover, deflecting attention from their nefarious activities. As future World Cups expand (2026, 2030, 2034) and move to climate-vulnerable nations, the environmental impact is projected to worsen. …

A Micropolitics Of Soccer Visibility: Sports And American Exceptionalism Through A Nashville Lens, John Sloop Jun 2026

A Micropolitics Of Soccer Visibility: Sports And American Exceptionalism Through A Nashville Lens, John Sloop

Fast Capitalism

This essay uses the occasion of the 2026 World Cup to investigate the ways “soccer” or football in the United States has reflected the ideology of US exceptionalism as well as a wide array of other ideological nodal points. By performing a microhistory of soccer as it was covered in the local news in Nasvhille, I bring into relief the ways our understanding of soccer today continues to be constrained by its ideological roots in terms of nationalism, gender, race, and class.

Costing The Earth: Critical Reflections On The Growth Of Fifa’S World Cup Tournaments, Barry Smart Jun 2026

Costing The Earth: Critical Reflections On The Growth Of Fifa’S World Cup Tournaments, Barry Smart

Fast Capitalism

The paper provides a critical analysis of the growth of FIFA’s World Cup tournaments. Consideration is given to FIFA’s status as a global organization, specifically its extensive reach, standing, and responsibility, as well as the interests and concerns driving its expansion policies.  While expansion has fostered greater inclusion and increased global engagement it has also aroused growing climate and environmental concerns. FIFA claims to have a broad social mission, a fundamental social role, and acknowledges the requirement for good governance. In addition, FIFA has expressed a commitment to the protection of human rights and has outlined its climate strategy, which …

Incorporating Feminist Ethics Of Care Into The American Women’S Soccer Market, Julie Brice, Verity Postlethwaite Jun 2026

Incorporating Feminist Ethics Of Care Into The American Women’S Soccer Market, Julie Brice, Verity Postlethwaite

Fast Capitalism

This paper offers a critical commentary on the professionalization of women’s soccer in the United States, exploring the intersection of feminism and capitalism. Drawing on feminist economic theory, we reflect on how feminist values and an ethics of care have been mobilized within women's professional soccer. To accomplish this, we focus specifically on two Southern Californian women’s soccer teams from two iterations of the women's professional soccer league in the US—the San Diego Spirit of the Women’s United Soccer Association and Angel City Football Club of the National Women’s Soccer League. Through historical and contemporary examples, we illustrate how feminist …

An Age Of Piracy Or A Golden Era: An Economic History Of Colombian Football From Obscurity To International Notoriety, 1918-1954, Brandon Blakeslee Jun 2026

An Age Of Piracy Or A Golden Era: An Economic History Of Colombian Football From Obscurity To International Notoriety, 1918-1954, Brandon Blakeslee

Fast Capitalism

This paper discusses the economic realities of international soccer in the middle of the twentieth century. As soccer became more popular it became more important for clubs to acquire good players, so fans would continue to attend the games, and for clubs who had good players to maintain them. At a time when Europe was still recovering from the second World War, Colombian business and club owners saw an opportunity to bring some of the biggest stars in the world to the Colombian league (Dimayor). This move inaugurated the golden age of Colombian soccer 1948-1954, but not everyone was happy …

Fifa’S Future In A Changing International System, Amit Gupta Jun 2026

Fifa’S Future In A Changing International System, Amit Gupta

Fast Capitalism

The Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) has shown the most consistent ability to reinvent itself and to increase the commercial potential of the game. In doing so it has followed the fundamental principles of capitalism, using innovation and growth as the basis for success. This has led the sport to become the most popular in the world, with the men’s World Cup finals averaging over a billion viewers. It is not only the viewing audience of the World Cup that makes the game so popular of course: domestic football—particularly the leagues of England, Spain, Italy, and Germany—has found audiences …

Non-Football: The Hyperrationalized Nothingness Of Sporting Late Capitalism, David L. Andrews Jun 2026

Non-Football: The Hyperrationalized Nothingness Of Sporting Late Capitalism, David L. Andrews

Fast Capitalism

Over the past four decades, the origination and remarkable growth of the English Premier League (EPL, has transformed English football from what was a relatively parochial expression of a predominantly urban working class culture, into a mass entertainment-driven, multiple revenue-streamed, and globally consumed sport spectacle.  As such, this discussion engages and extends the voluminous critical scholarship on the EPL as an instructive object of cultural economic inquiry.  This is realized through a contextual model of the EPL as a hyper-rationalized non-football assemblage, largely based on a synthetic reading of Manuel DeLanda, Marc Augé, and George Ritzer’s conceptualizing.  This model forges …

Platform Telecracy: Soccer, Capital, And Media After Galeano, Jason Ludwig Jun 2026

Platform Telecracy: Soccer, Capital, And Media After Galeano, Jason Ludwig

Fast Capitalism

This article builds on on Eduardo Galeano's concept of "telecracy"  to theorize "platform telecracy," an updated framework for analyzing the relationship between soccer, media infrastructure, and capital in the era of digital platforms.  The article argues that the transition from broadcast television to online platforms has fundamentally transformed how soccer media is produced, circulated, and monetized. Where Galeano's broadcast telecracy (Telecracy 1.0) commodified the live match broadcast, platform telecracy (Telecracy 2.0) assetizes match footage, enabling its endless fragmentation and recirculation across digital platforms as a source of continuous advertising and subscription revenue.

The Fifa Vector, Pablo Andrés Castagno Jun 2026

The Fifa Vector, Pablo Andrés Castagno

Fast Capitalism

A key aim within Critical and Cultural Studies is to analyze how non-governmental international institutions engage with political and economic processes. This article argues that the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) shapes a fundamental institutional vector for global capital accumulation, which is based on the exploitation of players and communities. Under the influence of protection rackets, FIFA has actually functioned as a governmental machine that enforces the commodification of football. Furthermore, it propagates a narrative of football's magic that legitimizes non-democratic governments seeking some cultural validation. In these ways, FIFA interacts with the emergence of the vectoral state. Over …

From Many Green New Deals To The New Green Scam, Timothy W. Luke Jun 2026

From Many Green New Deals To The New Green Scam, Timothy W. Luke

Fast Capitalism

This preliminary critical analysis explores the decisive shift in U.S. environmental policy from the Biden Administration, which still honored the mythic might of FDR’s 1930s New Deal, to the rapid implementation of a President Trump's MAGA ("Make America Great Again") approaches to environmental conservation and protection policy. The Biden Administration’s and the Democratic Party also entertained “Green New Deal” measures despite their often misunderstood connections to statist class compromises and corporatist legitimation dynamics that alienated many conservatives and the GOP, as exemplified by the Project 2025 program from the Heritage Foundation behind the Second Trump administration.  As a mix of …

The 2026 World Cup, In Trump’S Shadow, Richard Holtzman Jun 2026

The 2026 World Cup, In Trump’S Shadow, Richard Holtzman

Fast Capitalism

This essay examines President Donald Trump’s rhetorical interventions in the lead-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. It is inspired by Eduardo Galeano’s Soccer in Sun and Shadow, which interprets football as a mirror reflecting broader political, cultural, and economic realities. My analysis explores how Trump commandeered the World Cup through spectacle, transforming it into a stage for symbolically demonstrating his power and indulging his ego. The president’s rhetorical behavior is explored and critiqued through three case studies and a final vignette: (1) the establishment of a White House World Cup Task Force, (2) the president’s threats to relocate …

The Role Of Online Influencers In Countering Digital Extreme-Right Messaging: The Case Of Hasan Piker And The Twitch Network, Lachlan Howells, Francis Russell, Ben Rich, Paul Sutherland

Fast Capitalism

Although significant research has been conducted on the role of online influencers in fomenting and proliferating right-wing extremist narratives, conspiracies, and ideology, little attention has been paid to digital content creators who actively work to defuse and counter such ideas. This paper seeks to fill this gap by considering the case of Hasan Piker, a prolific leftist streamer and e-celebrity, theorized through Gramsci’s notion of the organic intellectual. Accordingly, we analyze a series of Piker’s livestreams that engage with various right-wing extremist talking points and consider his role in combating these ideas alongside his interactive audience.

Cyberzombies And The Afterlife Of Thought: Dead Labor, Ai, And The Necropolis Of Capital, Craig Van Pelt Jun 2026

Cyberzombies And The Afterlife Of Thought: Dead Labor, Ai, And The Necropolis Of Capital, Craig Van Pelt

Fast Capitalism

This essay presents a novel Marxist theory of artificial intelligence (AI) as the latest expansive form of dead labor. Drawing on Marx’s Grundrisse (1993 [1973]), I argue that modern AI systems function as cyberzombies: digital entities animated by appropriated dead cognitive labor. This dead cognitive labor operates as seemingly autonomous machine cognition, reproducing the core feature of capital: the domination of living labor by accumulated past labor. These cyberzombies accelerate the widening cognitive rift—the structural separation between communities that supply resources for AI to function and the actors who accumulate the resulting knowledge. The essay concludes that cyberzombies reveal an …

A Culturally Responsive Campus Learning Community: Stories About Professional And Personal Growth, Maria I. Iturbide, Amy E. Sprowles, Kimberly Vincent-Layton, Seth Bradley, Steven T. Margell

Journal of Educational Research and Practice

Although collegiate enrollment for students of diverse identities has steadily increased over the last five decades, their college graduation rates have not increased proportionally. Culturally responsive educational environments allow students to leverage their cultural wealth to achieve their academic aspirations. To create a culturally responsive campus culture, educators’ pedagogy must value culture in thinking, feeling, learning, and the communication of ideas. This article explores the ability of a professional learning community approach to cultivate in educator participants the personal and professional shifts required to create a culturally responsive educational environment. We analyzed qualitative data from 10 open-ended questions through an …

Attached To The Algorithm: Investigating The Relationship Between Adult Attachment Styles And Instrumental And Relational Dependency On Large Language Models, Jim Zapf, Ala Yankouskaya, Timothy J. Evans, Andrew J. Graham, Abigail Hill, Troy Backhuus

Journal of Counseling and Psychology

The rapid growth of large language models (LLMs) raises questions for counselors regarding when such tools are used adaptively versus when they foster dependency. Guided by attachment theory and a dual-dimension view of AI reliance, this study examined whether adult attachment styles predict instrumental (task/decision support) and relational (companion-like) dependency on LLMs, whether spiritual engagement relates to these dependencies, and whether levels differ by age. Faculty, staff, and students who had used an LLM completed the LLM-D12 and the ECR-R (N = 515). Analyses showed that instrumental dependency on LLMs was highest among individuals high in avoidance, with modest additional …
