The Craft Of Tally: Tracing Marketability And Economic Sustainability Of Crafts, Mariam Mabrouk
The Craft Of Tally: Tracing Marketability And Economic Sustainability Of Crafts, Mariam Mabrouk
Theses and Dissertations
This thesis explores the marketability and economic sustainability of the Tally craft in Gezeirit
Shandaweel, Sohag, Egypt, with a focus on how the craft navigates the tension between cultural
preservation and economic adaptation. Tally, a traditional form of embroidery, has deep cultural
roots in Egypt but faces significant challenges due to global market dynamics, shifting consumer
preferences, and systemic institutional neglect. Through an ethnographic case study, this research
investigates how artisans, institutions, and market forces interact to shape the craft's future. The
study examines the role of cultural perceptions, innovation, and institutional support in fostering
or hindering Tally's economic viability. …

Background
The effectiveness of endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) for low Alberta Stroke Program Early CT score (ASPECTS) stroke patients with occlusion of the second segment of the middle cerebral artery (M2) is unclear.
Methods
This was a multicenter retrospective study. Patients with M1 or M2 occlusions and low ASPECTS (< 6) who underwent successful EVT (modified treatment in cerebral ischemia score of 2b or higher) were included. Primary outcome was futile EVT reperfusion (defined as 90-day modified Rankin scale of 5 or 6). Other outcomes of interest include acceptable outcomes (modified Rankin scale of 3 or less) and intracranial hemorrhage (ICH), and all-cause 90-day mortality. Outcomes for M1 patients were compared to M2 patients with multivariable logistic regression models accounting for potential confounders.
Results
173 patients with M1 or M2 occlusions and low ASPECTS (< 6) who underwent successful EVT were identified. After multivariable adjustments, M2 patients had significantly higher odds of futile reperfusion (OR 5.48 [95%CI 1.91 to 15.7], p = 0.002), lower odds of acceptable outcomes (OR 0.33 [95%CI 0.12 to 0.89], p = 0.028), and higher odds of all-cause mortality (OR 4.90 [95%CI 1.65 to 14.5], p = 0.004). These findings suggest that EVT's efficacy for low-ASPECTS stroke patients may be diminished for patients with M2 occlusions. M2 occlusion was not significantly associated with ICH.
Conclusions
Among low-ASEPCTS stroke patients who underwent successful EVT, those with M2 occlusions had significantly higher odds of poor outcome compared to those with M1 occlusions.

The brain's endocannabinoid signaling system modulates a diverse range of physiological phenomena and is also involved in various psychiatric and neurological disorders. The basic components of the molecular machinery underlying endocannabinoid-mediated synaptic signaling have been known for decades. However, limitations associated with the short-lived nature of endocannabinoid lipid signals had made it challenging to determine the spatiotemporal specificity and dynamics of endocannabinoid signaling in vivo. Here, we discuss how novel technologies have recently enabled unprecedented insights into endocannabinoid signaling taking place at specific synapses in behaving animals. In this review, we primarily focus on cannabinoid-sensitive inhibition in the hippocampus in …

Examining Family Accommodation In Early Childhood, Allison Smith Dupre
Examining Family Accommodation In Early Childhood, Allison Smith Dupre
LSU Doctoral Dissertations
The relationship between parent and child anxiety is well established. One factor that may account for this relationship is family accommodation (how family members alter their behavior to alleviate child distress). Family accommodation has been studied in child anxiety for the past decade and has been linked to increased parent and child anxiety. However, little research has focused on a young sample without clinical elevations of anxiety. Acknowledging the impact of family accommodation on child anxiety, the strong link between parent anxiety and accommodation, and the importance of early intervention, this study aimed to expand the literature of family accommodation …

The present disclosure relates to methods and systems for efficiently storing data based on reinforcement learning and actor-critic models. An agent, comprising a “chunking actor” and a “redundancy critic” can segment various types of computer files into “dynamic segments” and “redundant segments” and store those segments in a dynamic datastore and a redundant datastore respectively. In general terms, redundant segments can comprise segments of files that exist “redundantly” among multiple files stored by the system, such as header information. Dynamic data segments can comprise data segments that are unique or generally unique to their respective files. By identifying redundant data …

International Symposium of Adapted Physical Activity and International Symposium on Physical Activity and Visual Impairment and Deafblindness
Introduction
The word “inclusion” has been vaguely defined since its formulation, despite its ubiquity in physical education literature and practice (Imray & Colley, 2017). Without clear meaning, the term’s proliferation has created space for multiple understandings to the detriment of building capacity to meaningfully enhance the concept in social justice and educational contexts (Cobigo et al., 2012). To better understand its use, our purpose in this study was to analyze how “inclusion” is used in scholarship published in well-known physical education journals. This study advances ISAPA’s theme “Creating New Opportunities to Thrive,” by fostering awareness for stakeholders in education environments …

Preferences For Exercise Among Latino Parents Of Children With Developmental Disabilities: A Qualitative Study, Jamie L. Jaime Concepcion, Kristen A. Pickett, Kecia Doyle, Luis Columna
International Symposium of Adapted Physical Activity and International Symposium on Physical Activity and Visual Impairment and Deafblindness
Introduction Latino parents of children with developmental disabilities face significant health disparities, including higher rates of depression and chronic pain, compared to non-Latino white parents (Magaña & Smith, 2006). These disparities negatively impact well-being, highlighting the need for interventions addressing both physical and mental health. While physical activity can reduce these risks, limited research exists on factors influencing exercise participation among Latino parents. Thus, this study aimed to explore Latino parents' preferences toward an exercise program tailored to their needs, aiming to inform the future design of culturally appropriate interventions.
Methods Participants included 15 Latino parents of children aged 3 …

Introduction
Research indicates that aquatic therapy (AT) sessions lead to children feeling happy, relaxed, and calm, and enable them to participate in other activities in school (Muñoz-Blanco et al., 2020). However, to the best of our knowledge, none of the recent reviews have thoroughly or specifically examined the use of AT for children and adolescents with various types of disabilities. The objective of this scoping review was to analyze type of evidence in relation to the use of AT in children and adolescents with disabilities. Such analyze may improve quality of future AT programs, contributes to achievement of health and …

International Symposium of Adapted Physical Activity and International Symposium on Physical Activity and Visual Impairment and Deafblindness
Introduction The United Nations considers sports in its 2030 Agenda as an effective tool for the social inclusion of people with disabilities (United Nations, 2015). Despite its importance in the social and sporting context, the concept of inclusion often remains vague and frequently focuses one-sidedly on a “placement approach” (Haegele & Wilson, 2022, p. 25). A space labelled as inclusive does not determine whether it is really experienced as inclusive. Because inclusion is individual (Hiemstra & Rama, 2024). In a study by Oldörp et al. (2024), blind tennis players describe their sport as inclusive, depending on their own understanding of …
