Despite efforts to reduce juvenile justice recidivism through education programs, current literature does not demonstrate that these policies have been effective. The research problem was that despite various programs to minimize juvenile justice recidivism in Montgomery County, Maryland, data did not show a decrease in adolescent offenders in the county correctional system. A significant social problem affecting law enforcement investigations into workplace violence is the lack of threat assessments and threat management programs performed in workplace investigations. Collaboration with law enforcement early in workplace violence investigations has significant benefits within the corporate sector. This article describes the difficulties of working with people with serious mental illnesses (PSMIs) at every stage of the criminal justice process—from arrest to post- incarceration release from prison. The needs of PSMI for mental health and social services are complex and require different case management plans and strategies at various points in the process. Severe mental illnesses (SMIs), such as schizophrenia, major depression, and bipolar disorder, stem from abnormalities in the brain structure and neuroprocessing that cause significant distress and dysfunction. In disaster scenarios where visibility can be compromised, and conventional detection methods are ineffective, acoustic detection offers a critical means of localizing victims in search and rescue operations. However, the inherent noise generated by uncrewed aerial rotorcraft systems poses significant challenges to the effective use of acoustic sensing equipment. This research investigates the feasibility of utilizing drones equipped with high-sensitivity microphones to detect and locate humans in such environments. In 1968, Congress passed the Anti-Drug Abuse Act (“ADAA”) in response to the drug overdose of Len Bias, a basketball star at the University of Maryland.  The Act imposed harsh sentences for crack cocaine offenses; a person charged with possession of crack cocaine faced the same mandatory minimum prison sentence as someone charged with possession of one hundred times more powered cocaine.  For example, a person charged with carrying five grams of crack cocaine would receive the same sentence as someone carrying five hundred grams of powdered cocaine. Effective aviation safety oversight depends significantly on public trust and confidence in regulatory institutions. Understanding the dynamics behind public trust in Civil Aviation Authorities (CAAs) is critical to ensuring compliance, improving safety performance, and fostering legitimacy. This poster presents the preliminary results of a scoping review focused on the mechanisms currently used to measure public trust and confidence in public institutions worldwide. The review examines three scales presented in the literature that could support the analysis of institutional trust in governmental bodies, particularly in public safety-relevant industries such as aviation. The vulnerable and underserved incarcerated population face multiple challenges. The incarcerated population need direct, high-quality patient-centered care. This study aims to address the need to fill the gap of health care professionals’ shortage in corrections, particularly social workers. Personal data leakages have been experienced by both Indonesia and South Korea. To ensure the protection of privacy rights relating to personal data, both countries have promulgated special laws, namely the Indonesian Personal Data Protection Law (PDP Law) and the South Korean Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). This study aims to compare the two laws to ascertain their similarities and differences by adopting a comparative law approach. The study found that similarities exist in the two laws. This research focuses on the Proportionality test model of Competing Rights in practice in civil law countries (Germany and South Korea) and the Common Law System (United States and Canada). The research method used is a normative legal research method with statutory, comparative, and case approaches. The results show that the proportionality test is the "ultimate rule of law," a fundamental benchmark in judicial review, and has become a global constitutionalism recognised and applied internationally. The Indonesian criminal justice system faces critical issues with the repeated designation of individuals as suspects, which compromises legal certainty and the protection of human rights. This study provides a critical analysis of the procedural and ethical consequences of repeated suspect designations within the framework of Indonesia's Criminal Procedure Code. This study employs a doctrinal legal research methodology, incorporating statute, case and conceptual approaches. The results show that pretrial judges assess the validity of suspect designations based on procedural and formal principles. Their authority is confined to reviewing formal aspects. The International Convention on The Protection of The Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families (ICMW) is the only Human Rights Convention that distinguishes between normal and irregular migrants in great detail.
