This Doctor of Nursing Practice project was focused on a staff education program aimed at addressing the knowledge gaps of primary healthcare providers regarding pediatric medication adherence. Nonadherence among pediatric patients is a significant issue leading to adverse health outcomes and increased healthcare costs. The project underscores the necessity of enhancing provider knowledge and communication skills, alongside implementing systematic strategies to promote adherence. My objective with the project was to elevate primary healthcare providers’ understanding and practical application of pediatric adherence techniques through targeted, evidence-based education. I developed the practice-focused question to examine whether this tailored staff education could bolster …
The Heart Of An Educator An Autoethnographic Study Of Homeschool Practices That Reflect Core Udl Principles, Kimberly Clinton
The Heart Of An Educator An Autoethnographic Study Of Homeschool Practices That Reflect Core Udl Principles, Kimberly Clinton
Dissertations
The Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework was at the heart of this study, which served as a critical lens for examining the instructional design practices embedded in the homeschool environment. Specifically, I examined how the three core tenets of UDL: representation, action and expression, and engagement were reflected within the Clinton Homeschool Instructional Learning Design (CHILD). The aim was to identify how homeschool instruction, as implemented by the researcher, parallels UDL principles in its responsiveness to learner variability, its emphasis on flexible instructional delivery, and its commitment to student-centered engagement. In contrast to the dominant educational paradigm, which often …

Colorectal Cancer Screening In Saudi Arabia: Current Challenges And Future Directions, Abdulrahman A. Aljabri, Abdulrahman G. Alharbi
Saudi Medical Journal
Colorectal cancer has become a major public health concern in Saudi Arabia. It is the most prevalent cancer among men and the third most prevalent among women. Although screening for people aged 45-75 is recommended by national recommendations, screening uptake is still below 10%, and less than 1% of older persons have a colonoscopy. With regional differences that vary from age-standardized rates of 3.2 per 100,000 in Jouf to 21.8 per 100,000 in Riyadh among men, approximately 29% of cases are detected at late stages. Therefore, we assessed the epidemiological, social, and health-related systemic structures preventing effective colorectal cancer screening …

Predicting The Prognosis Of Primary And Substance-Associated Psychoses Using Urine Drug Screens: A 5-Year Retrospective Longitudinal Study Using Medical Records, Erich J. Aschenbrenner, Andrew C. Voluse
Psychiatry Publications
Substance use is frequently implicated in psychosis. However, the prognostic assumptions guiding differential treatment decisions between substance-induced and primary/affective psychoses have received inconsistent support. Substance-induced psychosis research has often been limited by aggregating substances or using diagnosis as both a grouping variable and an outcome (i.e., diagnostic conversion). The current study examined medical records for 1379 patients for 5 years following their first presentation with psychosis after January 2013 to a regional medical center. Clinically relevant outcomes were compared across groups defined by the substances detected in patients' urine at their initial presentation. Initial drug screen results predicted the initial …
