Reimagining Instructional Planning: Balancing Real-Life Experiences With Ai Instantaneity, Shaanii-Grace Robinson-Ritzdorf Mar 2026

Reimagining Instructional Planning: Balancing Real-Life Experiences With Ai Instantaneity, Shaanii-Grace Robinson-Ritzdorf

Essays in Education

Instructional planning challenges teachers to balance creativity, time, and application of real-life experiences. Artificial intelligence (AI) offers rapid lesson ideas, personalized resources, and adaptive tools, yet uncritical use risks generic, disengaging instruction. This essay was based on the background study that examined elementary teachers’ integration of real-life experiences in science and math lessons in northwestern New Mexico through lesson plans, professional development materials, and interviews. Results revealed teacher-centered, procedural approaches with limited connection to students’ lived experiences, while personally designed lessons allowed greater flexibility for meaningful examples. Thoughtfully guided AI can bridge this gap, supporting scenario-based learning, differentiation, and student …

Thesis/ Dissertation Defenses

Education systems globally are experiencing ongoing reform due to globalization, rapid technological development, and increasing expectations for innovative and adaptable learning environments. Teachers are increasingly required to implement policy initiatives and be active leaders of change within schools. However, teachers’ ability to engage in change leadership and self-leadership is influenced by the psychological and relational conditions of their professional environments. Guided by Self-Determination Theory (SDT), this study investigates the association between teachers’ perceptions of competence, autonomy, and relatedness. It further examines how these perceptions relate to their capabilities in leading change and practicing self-leadership in government schools in Al Ain …

Journal of Public Health in the Deep South

Background: Undergraduate college students face stress and concomitant mental health issues that can be mitigated by proper stress management behavior.

Purpose: This article examines the multi-theory model (MTM) of health behavior as a predictor of change in the primary outcomes of initiation and sustenance of relaxation-seeking behavior in undergraduate college students for the purposes of stress mitigation. The two main research hypotheses tested were that (a) participatory dialogue, behavioral confidence, and change in physical environment have statistically significant effects on initiation of behavioral change, and (b) emotional transformation, practice for change, and change in social environment have statistically significant effects …

Baltic Journal of Health and Physical Activity

Background: Evidence on lower-limb strength, explosive power and bilateral asymmetry in competitive fencing is fragmented, and the relative impact of general neuromuscular capacity versus targeted training interventions remains unclear. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to provide a multidimensional, evidence-based synthesis of data on strength, power, and bilateral asymmetry of the lower limbs in professional fencers. Materials and methods: Following PRISMA 2020 (PROSPERO CRD420251041007), six databases were searched by 31 January 2025. Forty studies of fencers aged ≥ 12 years met the inclusion criteria. Three domain-specific random-effects meta-analyses (DerSimonian–Laird) were conducted: (1) integrated strength and power across …

Feather And Freedom: A Fabled Land In The Mind, Yuan Tao

Living in Languages

Set in the deceptively tranquil Honest Town, “The Feather of Sister Zandan” is narrated from the perspective of Zaan, a younger brother, revealing his complicated feelings toward his sister. Written in a fable-like style infused with magical realism, the story explores the tension between restraint and longing, culminating in an abrupt and poignant ending that evokes the emotional sting of an O. Henry-style twist. The short story won the Gemini Prize for Short Fiction of China in 2021. According to the award citation, Lan Du’s writing demonstrates emotional depth, dazzling imagination, and striking narrative tension. Her storytelling defies conventional …

Journal of Issues in Intercollegiate Athletics

This research explores the promotion of women’s sports programs across Division I athletic departments by specifically looking at the strategies, barriers, and opportunities identified by practitioners. Interest in women’s sports is growing, in large part thanks to popular women athletes such as Caitlin Clark, Juju Watkins, and Olivia Dunne. Despite that growing interest and investment in women’s sports globally, women collegiate athletes still face significant disparities in funding, media coverage, and overall promotion compared to their counterparts who are men. The industry faces a unique pivot point with the introduction of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) and the pending implications …

Principals' Ethical Decision-Making In Addressing Cyberbullying: A Systematic Review, Jeana M. Partin, Sonya D. Hayes

School Leadership Review

Principals’ ethical decision-making in response to cyberbullying presents some of the most complex challenges in K–12 leadership, as issues extend beyond the classroom into digital spaces. National data from 2019–20 indicate that bullying and cyberbullying remain among the most prevalent discipline problems in U.S. public schools, underscoring the urgency of effective leadership in this area. This systematic review examined how principals address and manage cyberbullying by analyzing peer-reviewed empirical studies published between 2012 and 2025 on decision-making and leadership. Three themes emerged: technology-related challenges, policy implementation, and stakeholder education. Findings highlight principals’ pivotal role in prevention and intervention, emphasizing the …

HBRC Journal

As the number of the aged in the world is expected to rise dramatically, the built environment should be adjusted to accommodate aging in place, and most of the facilities currently available are inadequate in terms of interior design requirements to support the functional and psychological needs of the aged. The purpose of this study is to establish the design needs of the aged by incorporating smart technology in interior architecture to make them safer and self-reliant. The methodology will apply a descriptive methodology by use of literature review and an analytical approach by use of a questionnaire of 153 …

Lowering Of The Lowered: The ‘Spectacular’ Construction Of ‘Humiliation’ In The Indian Prevention Of Atrocities Act 1989, Ashna Singh Mar 2026

Lowering Of The Lowered: The ‘Spectacular’ Construction Of ‘Humiliation’ In The Indian Prevention Of Atrocities Act 1989, Ashna Singh

National Law School of India Review

The Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 is the only law in India that explicitly recognises caste-based insults or hate speech as an offence. In doing so, it captures the distinctive harm of such speech as humiliation. This article focuses on Section 3(1)(r) of the Act and argues that this recognition is significantly qualified by the “public view” requirement. Drawing on socio-political scholarship on humiliation, I show that judicial interpretation of this requirement has produced an extra-legislative condition of spectacularity. Courts tend to read caste-based humiliation through the paradigm of visible, overt, and collective atrocity, …

The Private Prison Problem: Finding Pathways To Justice In HawaiʻI, Nathan Lee Mar 2026

The Private Prison Problem: Finding Pathways To Justice In HawaiʻI, Nathan Lee

UC Law Journal of Race and Economic Justice

This article considers the many obstacles in place to challenging private prison operation. Given decades of meaningful scholarship and legal activism on the “private prison problem”, it is puzzling that successful challenges to privatized incarceration remain elusive. This article seeks to introduce the lengthy and tragic history of Hawaiʻi’s use of out of state private prisons, stretching from 1995 to the present. For 30 years, people have been sent thousands of miles from home, effectively banished. Worse, Hawaiʻi has failed to take appropriate action to implement oversight or to bring individuals back home. Moreover, despite Hawaiʻi’s prominent involvement in private, …

Grade 8 Mathematics Teachers’ Perceptions Of Students’ Low Performance In A Northeast U.S. State, Jheneal Dixon Mar 2026

Grade 8 Mathematics Teachers’ Perceptions Of Students’ Low Performance In A Northeast U.S. State, Jheneal Dixon

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

The problem that was addressed through the study is that 82% of Grade 8 students score below proficiency on the end of year mathematics exam in a Northeast state. Grounded in Deci and Ryan’s self-determination theory, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, and Gay’s culturally responsive theory, the purpose of this qualitative study was to explore Grade 8 mathematics teachers’ perceptions of the factors contributing to students’ low performance and the resources needed to support student success. For this basic qualitative design, semistructured interviews with 10 Grade 8 mathematics teachers were conducted. Through thematic analysis, the following four themes emerged: teachers were …

Chronic Post-Mastectomy Pain: Insights Into Mechanisms, Prevention, And Treatment Approaches, Abdulaziz H. Algain Mar 2026

Chronic Post-Mastectomy Pain: Insights Into Mechanisms, Prevention, And Treatment Approaches, Abdulaziz H. Algain

Journal of Medical Rehabilitation Science

Chronic post-mastectomy pain (CPMP) is a prevalent and significant concern for many breast cancer surgery patients, affecting between 25% and 60% of females within the first year after surgery. This multifactorial condition arises from a combination of peripheral nerve injury, central sensitization, and immune-mediated inflammation. Although no single intervention can fully prevent CPMP, a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach that addresses the biological, psychological, and social aspects of pain is crucial for enhancing the quality of life for breast cancer survivors. It is often underrecognized by clinicians, who may attribute pain to the expected postoperative recovery process, while patients sometimes accept discomfort …
