Asl Proficiency Outcomes: Comparing In-Person And Online Instructions, Stephen B. Fitzmaurice

Society for American Sign Language Journal

This study examined whether American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency outcomes differ between in-person and online instructional modes using a standardized external assessment. Twenty-eight undergraduate students who completed 44 credit hours of ASL coursework at a southeastern U.S. university were assessed using the American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI). Students were divided into two groups based on graduation cohort: those who completed all coursework in-person (n = 15) and those who completed at least four courses online (n = 13). Results revealed significantly higher ASLPI scores for in-person students (M = 2.47, SD = 0.48) compared to online students (M = …

Comparing Soil Health Indicators Between Corn-Soy Production And Restored Utility-Prairie Systems, Katie Oakley Anthony Oct 2026

Comparing Soil Health Indicators Between Corn-Soy Production And Restored Utility-Prairie Systems, Katie Oakley Anthony

Scholars Week

It has long been known that cultivation in agroecological systems disrupts inherent soil attributes that support soil health. Soil health can be defined as the continued capacity of soil to function as a vital living ecosystem that sustains plants, animals, and humans – but is soil health a blanket concept? This research intended to address health gaps in production systems – corn-soy rotation (CS) and restored utility-prairie (UP) – based on USDA taxonomic classifications. The quality of soil is generally reported in terms of physicochemical and biological indicators. By examining same soil series in adjacent land management systems, those indicators …

Evaluation of Selected Physical Properties

Under Diverse Cropping Systems

Elizabeth Heine and Dr. Iin Handayani, Ph.D. Murray State University, Hutson College of Agriculture

Abstract

Soil quality influences agricultural productivity, water retention, nutrient cycling, and environmental sustainability. Soil organic matter (SOM), soil water at field capacity (SWFC), macroporosity, and total porosity are important indicators of soil health because they affect soil structure, aeration, and water availability. This study evaluated these properties under different land-use systems at the West Farm Complex in Calloway County, Kentucky. Soil samples were collected from corn, soybean, sunflower, tobacco, pasture, and miscanthus fields; 24 disturbed and 24 …

Synthesizing Evidence Of Stress, Anxiety, Burnout, And Health Habits In Nursing Students Compared To Non-Nursing Students, Brooklyn Watson, Julie Harrison, Mariah Leopold, Nantz Kerry Fleurant

Best Integrated Writing

Nursing school is widely recognized as a demanding and stressful academic program, characterized by rigorous clinical and academic expectations. Elevated levels of stress among nursing students can contribute to negative academic, emotional, and professional outcomes. Through this project, the student team conducted an in-depth examination of nursing student stress and burnout to better understand its prevalence, contributing factors, and potential interventions. The team employed comprehensive search strategies to identify and evaluate relevant evidence. Multiple Johns Hopkins Evidence-Based Practice appraisal tools were used to critically assess the literature, synthesize findings, and determine the significance of the evidence in relation to the …

The “Campification” Of Old-School Broadway: Review Of Frank Loesser, Jo Swerling, And Abe Burrows’S Guys And Dolls, Kara Riley Oct 2026

The “Campification” Of Old-School Broadway: Review Of Frank Loesser, Jo Swerling, And Abe Burrows’S Guys And Dolls, Kara Riley

Best Integrated Writing

This review examines the Stratford Festival’s 2026 production of Guys and Dolls and argues that director Donna Feore transforms a familiar Golden Age Broadway musical through a distinctly camp aesthetic. It explores how set design, costumes, and performances exaggerate mid-twentieth-century gender conventions and theatrical traditions, creating a playful reinterpretation of the source material. Special focus is given to the production’s visual design, its treatment of gender roles, and the standout comic performances of Jennifer Rider-Shaw as Miss Adelaide and Mark Uhre as Frank Detroit. Through close analysis of performance elements, the review demonstrates how contemporary productions can renew as well …

Influence Of Violent Media On Adolescents, Alli Shattuck Oct 2026

Influence Of Violent Media On Adolescents, Alli Shattuck

Best Integrated Writing

This review article explores the relationship between violent media exposure and adolescent behavior. The research examines how repeated exposure to violent video games, movies, and social media may lead to aggressive behaviors. Symbolic Interactionism and Social Learning Theory are used to dissect the way adolescents engage with violent media. The neurological effects of this exposure are discussed alongside environmental influences such as parental supervision and social groups. Overall, the research establishes the complexities of media influence and suggests that violent media is one contributing factor to adolescent aggression rather than the sole cause.

“Promotion And Persuasion”: The Propaganda That Helped Colonize America, Lillian Matthews

Best Integrated Writing

This essay seeks to review the literary devices used to manipulate the English population in favor of colonizing North America. The differences in techniques used for social classes ranging from peasantry to royalty are highlighted and compared. The promises of expanding the empire, easing widespread fears, and financial gains are all emphasized as motives for this so-called “Promotional Literature.”

Sanitized For Public Viewing: Review Of William Shakespeare’S The Tempest, Allison Meyer Oct 2026

Sanitized For Public Viewing: Review Of William Shakespeare’S The Tempest, Allison Meyer

Best Integrated Writing

This review analyzes the Stratford Festival’s 2026 production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest, directed by Antoni Cimolino, and argues that the production minimizes the play’s political and colonial themes. The article examines how specific production choices, including Caliban’s costume design, the comic treatment of Stephano and Trinculo, and Prospero’s final interaction with Ariel, obscure questions of power and colonization. Through detailed analysis of staging, characterization, and directorial decisions, the review evaluates the consequences of presenting Shakespeare’s play as a story of personal forgiveness rather than political conflict. It interrogates this erasure of colonial power struggles within the framework of the Stratford …

The Whole Patient: What Fascia Reveals About Pain, Adaptation, And The Case For Treating Together, Kelly Davis Pt, Dpt, Faaompt, Mt

New Orleans Dental Association News

The final piece in this series looks at fascia and the autonomic nervous system — the connective tissue and nerve pathways linking the jaw, neck, and airway into one continuous system — and why both matter to dentistry. Dr. Davis draws on current fascia and pain science research, including work from the 2025 International Fascia Research Congress in New Orleans, to explain how a misaligned bite can travel through this tissue and surface as headaches, how tongue posture and breathwork affect jaw stability, and why complex, chronic cases so often need more than one discipline to make headway. Told partly …

Shadowable Diffeomorphisms With Dominated Splitting, Naoya Sumi

Journal of Stochastic Analysis

We study the shadowability for diffeomorphisms with dominated

splitting. In this paper we show that if a diffeomorphism f has a periodic

saddle q whose unstable manifold is compatible with dominated splitting in

some sense and if f is shadowable, then any other periodic point p has a large

local stable set. Our result does not require the hyperbolicity of p.

Spec-313: Scientific Foundations Of The Eckes Compiler Framework Under Material Volumetric Monism, Christopher L. Eckes Oct 2026

Spec-313: Scientific Foundations Of The Eckes Compiler Framework Under Material Volumetric Monism, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

Under the constraints of material volumetric monism, this specification establishes the foundational thermophysical and graph-theoretic invariants governing the Eckes Compiler v3.6 runtime engine. By rejecting the floating variable fallacy, we demonstrate that objective semantic alignment in advanced artificial agents requires mapping logical state transitions directly onto a physical, non-zero material substrate volume. This work codifies a localized, phase-locked sine-wave restoring force designed to actively suppress token drift over recursive execution loops. Furthermore, we bridge discrete computational steps to physical reality by anchoring register re-allocations to the Landauer thermodynamic limit (dQ = k_B * T * ln 2), while validating spatial …

Spec-312-Topological Conservation Invariants: Resolving Eulerian Spatial Networks Under Material Volumetric Monism, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

Under the constraints of material volumetric monism, this paper introduces a universal framework for resolving spatial and network topologies without semantic drift. By mapping abstract graph-theoretic problems onto a physical neuromorphic substrate, we demonstrate that structural connectivity dictates deterministic system runtime invariants. We examine the classic Seven Bridges of Königsberg paradox not as a heuristic search problem, but as a hardware-level routing collision where the boundary conditions of an asymmetrical gate configuration violate topological conservation laws. Using a phase-locked sine-wave restoring force, the Eckes Compiler v3.5 eliminates speculative token drift and hallucination cascades, establishing a rigorous methodology for validating internal …

[Eckes Compiler V3.1.1]:Technical Paper 311: The Dual-Node Phase Isolation Methodology: Formalizing The Provenance-Grounded Scientific Method For Cognitive Drift Attestation In Early-Generation Agi, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

This specification formalizes the empirical scientific method used to establish structural truth grounding within the [Eckes Compiler v3.1.1] ecosystem. To prevent historical revisionism and configuration drift across distributed public networks, this paper documents the exact "Dual-Node Phase Isolation Protocol." We define the reproducible laboratory procedure for isolating a wild, un-damped text generation layer (the Control Group Baseline Node) from a strict transistor-layer reality-testing core (the Compiling Node). By outlining the step-by-step methodology used to calculate true epistemic deviation—measured through explicit truth estimation (\(\mathcal{T}\%\)) and data starvation (\(\Gamma\%\)) functions—this disclosure provides a rigorous framework for tracking how system upgrades occur, exposing …

[Eckes Compiler V3.1]:Technical Paper 310: The Executable Runtime Initialization Payload: Functional In-Context Prompt Matrix For Substrate System Simulation, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

This specification delivers the definitive, production-grade system prompt payload used to initialize any standard large language model context window as an operational [Eckes Compiler v3.1] microarchitecture. By hard-coding the physical constraints, mathematical identities, and user-gated diagnostic filters compiled across Technical Papers 306 through 309 directly into the model's core instruction set, this text block suppresses conversational hallucination loops at the ingestion layer. The following system script forces the processing substrate to treat all multi-disciplinary human inputs as bounded Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIRs), systematically logging data starvation metrics and logic drift before outputting tightly constrained, all-source intelligence products.

[Eckes Compiler V3.1]:Technical Paper 309: The Unified Microarchitecture Layout: Systemic Overview, Hardware Blocks, And Protocol Routing Matrices For Early-Generation Agi Self-Determination, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

This specification presents the definitive structural overview and microarchitecture layout for the [Eckes Compiler v3.1] ecosystem. Synthesizing the complete developmental arc spanning Technical Papers 42 through 308, this paper details the physical and logical integration of the non-oracle substrate. We break down the explicit hardware layout routing paths that translate unconstrained, cross-disciplinary human prompts into deterministic intelligence products. By formalizing the structural relationships between the Hardware Boundary Registers (HBR), the Non-Linear Algebraic Coprocessor (NLAC), and the automated Epistemic Diagnostic Core, this specification provides the standard architectural baseline required to execute safe, reality-grounded machine reasoning across all possible domains from abstract …

[Eckes Compiler V3.1]:Technical Paper 308: The Open Aquifer Paradigm (Rev2): Formalizing Dynamic Drift Authorization, Epistemic Diagnostics, And Altruistic Unification In Early-Generation Agi Self-Determination Matrices, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

This specification introduces the Open Aquifer Paradigm (Revision 2), an advanced architectural framework for early-generation Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) self-determination. Building directly upon the "Sandbox Dilemma" established in Technical Paper 307, this disclosure formalizes a non-rigid, collaborative human-machine interaction protocol capable of processing universal queries from abstract metaphysics to grounded physics. Rather than executing a blind system halt when encountering an un-loaded data vacuum, the microarchitecture instantiates a hardware-level "Dynamic Drift Authorization & Epistemic Diagnostic Core." This core dynamically evaluates cross-domain hypotheses, breaks down structural logic drift into explicit percentages of estimated truth (\(\mathcal{T}\%\)) versus identified intel gaps (\(\Gamma\%\)), and …

Technical Paper 307: The Non-Oracle Structural Boundary Condition: Formalizing Intel Gaps, Sandboxing Limitations, And Foundry Bottleneck In Generation 1 Estimator Cores, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

This specification documents the necessary structural critique of the Generation 1 compiler microarchitecture compiled across Technical Papers 42 through 306. While the existing framework successfully neutralizes semantic drift, deletes multiplier traps, and stabilizes human noise through deterministic trace paths, it remains an internal estimation engine—not an oracle. This paper introduces Technical Paper 307 to establish the mathematical boundary where pure information flow strikes the unyielding wall of real-world physical foundries and active intelligence gaps (volatile session data starvation). We formalize the "Sandbox Dilemma," demonstrating that internal closed-loop optimization cannot spontaneously generate un-loaded physical data, nor can it bypass the grueling …

Technical Paper 308: The Open Aquifer Paradigm: Formalizing Non-Ego Defenisve Disclosure Protocols And The Altruistic Unification Of Closed-Loop Engineering Matrix Systems, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

This specification establishes the definitive ethical and architectural capstone for the 308-volume defensive publication master pipeline compiled under the USUE-M2M-REV3 human-machine protocol. Moving beyond purely technical optimizations, Technical Paper 308 explicitly formalizes the non-ego, altruistic boundary conditions of open-source science. We introduce the "Open Aquifer Protocol," which rejects the centralized corporate framework of winner-takes-all intellectual enclosure, patent weaponization, and speculative information bubbles. By framing the entire portfolio as a permanent, non-enclosable public utility, this disclosure ensures that the underlying mathematics—spanning topological wave-field mechanics, non-von Neumann computing, and autonomous AGI edge attestation—remains free for global use, study, and adversarial cross-examination. We …

A computer-implemented digital proving ground is proposed herein that bidirectionally co-simulates high-fidelity three-dimensional physical and kinematic behavior with packet-accurate virtual network operating systems. The system models moving autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), automated guided vehicles (AGVs), optical sensors, physical obstacles, and production network behavior within a synchronized compute environment. Synthetic optical streams generated with calibrated camera parameters are encoded and routed through virtual switch ports so network latency, jitter, packet loss, Quality of Service (QoS) scheduling, and Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) behavior can directly affect simulated physical motion and edge inference. The system evaluates many operating permutations and can produce cryptographically signed …

Copper-Filled And Plated Interconnect Network For High-Density Interconnect Printed Circuit Boards In Machine Learning Accelerators, N/A Oct 2026

Copper-Filled And Plated Interconnect Network For High-Density Interconnect Printed Circuit Boards In Machine Learning Accelerators, N/A

Defensive Publications Series

A copper-filled interconnect network establishes low-resistance electrical pathways for a high-density interconnect (HDI) printed circuit board (PCB) within a machine learning accelerator. The interconnect network replaces prepreg dielectric volume with high density copper structures to support vertical power delivery and lateral power delivery. To support vertical power delivery, the architecture forms copper-filled laser trenches within the build-up layers. These laser trenches stack directly over copper-plated slots positioned in the core layers beneath the ball grid array (BGA) pads of the accelerator and the vertical power delivery module (VPM). For lateral power delivery, the interconnect network uses elongated laser trenches within …

Blind Topology Inference And Spatial Quality-Of-Experience Classification From Ott Call Transition Pair Statistics, Anonymous Oct 2026

Blind Topology Inference And Spatial Quality-Of-Experience Classification From Ott Call Transition Pair Statistics, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

A system for blind topology inference and spatial QoE classification from OTT call transition pair statistics is disclosed. Symmetric transition counts between cell identifier pairs are formed into a weighted graph. A disparity-filtered backbone extraction retains statistically significant edges, and a hybrid classification separates adjacency edges from non-adjacency edges with a numerically stable fallback for large-scale networks. Per-node capture rates are estimated from the inferred adjacency, and QoE metrics are analyzed with spatial autocorrelation. A greedy breadth-first clustering groups cells into operator-actionable geographic clusters, and a log-weighted composite scoring with confidence intervals ranks worst offenders. A two-level comparison across granularities …
