Effective Strategies To Integrate Social Media Influencers In Marketing Frameworks, Vanessa R. Alexander
Effective Strategies To Integrate Social Media Influencers In Marketing Frameworks, Vanessa R. Alexander
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Social media dominates modern marketing, yet many retail businesses struggle to integrate social media influence into their business marketing frameworks. This problem is important to retail marketing leaders because unsuccessful integration influence can weaken brand credibility and reduce revenue. Grounded in Cialdini’s theory of social influence and the electronic word-of-mouth model, the purpose of this qualitative pragmatic inquiry was to identify and explore effective strategies that retail industry marketing leaders on the East Coast of the United States used to integrate social media influencers. The participants were eight retail industry marketing leaders on the East Coast of the United States. …

Special Education Teachers’ Perceptions Of Teaching Effectiveness When Working With Students With Emotional And Behavioral Disorders, Ernest J. Fruge
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
This qualitative study examined how special education teachers perceived their teaching effectiveness in supporting students identified with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD). The study addressed a gap in the literature by examining the factors that influence special educators’ sense of self-efficacy when working with this population. Bandura’s theory of self-efficacy served as the conceptual framework. A generic qualitative research design was employed, and data were collected through semi-structured interviews with eight participants from two central Texas school districts. Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis guided the coding and interpretation process, supported by MAXQDA software. Analysis of the data revealed seven key …

Misapplying Pinkerton And Accomplice Liability In The United States Federal Sentencing Guidelines: How Courts Have Wrongly Imprisoned Criminal Defendants For Decades, Jessica Huang
San Diego Law Review
The Pinkerton and accomplice-liability doctrines are two of the most maligned doctrines in criminal law. Anyone deemed an “accomplice” to a crime can be convicted of that crime as if they had perpetrated the wrongdoing themselves; similarly, Pinkerton liability, a form of conspiracy liability, permits the government to hold someone accountable for the substantive crimes of another so long as those crimes were “in furtherance of the conspiracy,” “within the scope of the unlawful project,” and reasonably foreseeable “as a necessary or natural consequence of the unlawful agreement.” Scholars, activists, and reformers have criticized the doctrines on both constitutional and …
Individuals’ Experiences Of Care Partner Involvement In Heart Disease Management: A Pilot Study, Elizabeth Richards
Individuals’ Experiences Of Care Partner Involvement In Heart Disease Management: A Pilot Study, Elizabeth Richards
School of Nursing Faculty Publications
Introduction: Heart disease impacts both those diagnosed and their families, often due to lifestyle modifications that can alter family dynamics. While existing literature focuses on men and married individuals, understanding care partner involvement for both men and women independent of marital status is important, given gender disparities in heart disease experiences, caregiving roles, and widowhood rates. We explored differences in characteristics of men and women with heart disease, with and without a care partner. Additionally, we explored involvement of care partner beyond spousal relationships. We further examined gender differences in these experiences. Method: Cross-sectional Prolific survey pilot data of persons …

Designing Invisibility: How Hostile Architecture Impacts People Living With Disabilities, Priscilla A. Okolie
The Scholar: St. Mary's Law Review on Race and Social Justice
This comment discusses the potentially unethical and unlawful nature of hostile architecture. This comment posits that hostile architecture is inherently illegal by way of implicitly and overtly violating the Americans with Disabilities Act. This comment argues that hostile architecture violates the ADA because it potentially discriminates against people living with disabilities by hindering their ability to utilize both public and private facilities such as bus stops. This comment acknowledges that while hostile architecture is often used as a tool to discourage unhoused people from using such facilities, hostile architecture also potentially discriminates against people living with disabilities. This comment highlights …

The Scholar: St. Mary's Law Review on Race and Social Justice
The Summer Olympic Games unite the world in celebrating athletic excellence, yet behind the global spectacle lies a troubling reality: the pervasive issue of sexual abuse within competitive sports. The high-profile case of former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, who sexually assaulted hundreds of athletes over decades, including Olympic champions Simone Biles and Gabby Douglas, exposed systemic failures in reporting and accountability. This comment analyzes the legal and institutional response to such abuse, focusing on the enactment of Public Law 115-126 in 2018. Designed to protect minors and amateur athletes, the law mandates timely reporting of sexual abuse to law …

In this paper we have assessed the ability of the domain-based local pair natural orbital (DLPNO)-CCSD(T) method to match the explicitly correlated CCSD(T) relative energies of (H2O)n=3–7isomers along with the impact of the level of theory utilized to optimize the water cluster geometries. The benchmark structures were optimized using a 2-body:Many-body procedure in which all of the 1- and 2-body contributions are computed using CCSD(T) while all of the higher-order many-body interactions are computed using MP2 (denoted CCSD(T):MP2). Benchmark relative energies were computed for these CCSD(T):MP2 optimized geometries with explicitly correlated CCSD(T)-F12b single point energies (SPEs) using the …

Rethinking Wireless Microphone Fidelity: Evidence, Outcomes, And Implications, John Trevino
Theatre Faculty Publications
This paper challenges long-standing assumptions about tradeo↵s between duplexing and microphone fidelity in consumer wireless audio systems. Through controlled experiments and comparative evaluations on modern consumer hardware, we demonstrate that (1) measurable improvements in recorded microphone fidelity are achievable in real-world scenarios previously considered infeasible, (2) objective metrics show statistically significant gains under the tested configurations, and (3) these gains enable practical workflows for field production and archival capture. For reasons of responsible disclosure and ongoing intellectual property protection, implementation details are withheld; instead we report experimental design at a high level, evaluation methodology, numeric results, and implications for practitioners …

In this licensee holdover proceeding, the landlord sought summary judgment against a tenant claiming succession rights to a rent-stabilized apartment. The tenant asserted he lived with his grandmother, the former tenant, until 1994, then was incarcerated for over 20 years, returning after her 2018 death. The court deemed the tenant's answer a general denial with a succession defense but struck the defense. It held that the tenant's lengthy incarceration did not constitute a "temporary relocation" under RSC § 2523.5(b)(2) and precluded him from establishing primary residence for the requisite two years before the former tenant's death. Consequently, the landlord was …

Climate change and the global energy crisis have led to an increasing need for greenhouse gas remediation and clean energy sources. The electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) is a promising solution for both issues as it harvests waste CO2 and chemically reduces it to more useful forms. However, the high overpotential required for the reaction makes it electrochemically unfavorable. Here, we fabricate a novel electrode composed of TiO2 nanoparticles grown in situ on MXene charge acceptor 2D sheets with excellent CO2RR characteristics. A straightforward solvothermal method was used to grow the nanoparticles on …

In recent years, there has been an increase in the frequency of severe weather events (like hurricanes). These events are responsible for most power outages in power distribution systems (PDSs). Particularly susceptible to storms are overhead PDSs. In this study, the dynamic Bayesian network (DBN)-based failure model was developed for different hurricane scenarios to predict the line failure of overhead lines. Based on the outcomes of the DBN model, a service restoration model was formulated to maximize restored loads and minimize power losses using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO)-based distributed generation (DG) integration and system reconfiguration. Three different case studies based …

The toxicological effects of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and polycyclic aromatic compounds (PACs) have attracted considerable research interest due to their known bioaccumulation. However, time-resolved and longitudinal studies that examine in vivo bioaccumulation and clearance remain limited. Here we use Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) and Surface-Enhanced Infrared Absorption (SEIRA) spectroscopies to detect and track the presence of two PAHs: pyrene, benzo[a]pyrene, and one PAC: 5,12-naphthacenequinone, in murine organ tissues. Mice were exposed to a three-component mixture of these three chemicals, then their organs were collected at 24-, 48-, and 72- hours post-exposure. The accumulation of each of these chemicals in …
