Improving Benzodiazepine Refill Workflow And Communication Via Telehealth Using A Standardized Sbar Protocol, Hendricks Agwu

Doctor of Nursing Practice Projects

The development in telehealth operations in outpatient mental health care has enhanced access to care at the expense of creating challenges in communication and workflow, especially when it comes to dealing with high-risk substances like benzodiazepines. The role ambiguity, inaccurate refill timeline, documentation lapses and high chances of medication errors are caused by inconsistent communication during the process of telehealth refills. This quality improvement project was aimed at assessing the effects of applying a standardized Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation (SBAR) communication and documentation protocol to workflow efficiency, interprofessional communication, and medication safety when making benzodiazepine refills in a telehealth outpatient …

Evaluating The Effectiveness Of Automation And Robotics In Reducing Delays In On-Site Construction Activities, Boaz Safdie Bsafdie

Harrisburg University Dissertations and Theses

Construction delays cause substantial cost overruns and in most cases strained stakeholder relationships in the industry. This study acknowledges the problem that while automation and robotics are touted as solutions, their quantifiable effectiveness in reducing onsite delays remains unclear. The purpose of this research is to evaluate how these technologies reduce construction delays caused by labor shortages, workflow inefficiencies, and coordination issues. Guided by Workflow Optimization Theory and the Technology Acceptance Model, the study employs a qualitative method design. Qualitative data from stakeholder interviews will explore adoption barriers and perceptual impacts on team coordination. Analysis will involve statistical comparison of …

California: Garment Labels Liable For Wages, Alan Hyde Feb 2026

California: Garment Labels Liable For Wages, Alan Hyde

Dispatches

GARMENT WORKERS IN CALIFORNIA SINCE 2022 may collect their wages, not merely from the production facility that employs them, but alternatively from the garment labels and some retailers for whom the facility produces garments. Such joint and several liability is unique in the world. It has long been the goal of garment worker activists around the world, for garment work everywhere is both low-paid and easily mobile. Wage theft, that is, nonpayment or underpayment of wages, is also common in California (U.S. Department of Labour, 2023). How is the statute working out?

Us Federal Budgets And Federal Employee Job Satisfaction, Nathan Favero, Carla Flink, Tingli Qu Feb 2026

Us Federal Budgets And Federal Employee Job Satisfaction, Nathan Favero, Carla Flink, Tingli Qu

Faculty Publications

Researchers have long studied how organizational budgets relate to performance, but how do employees themselves experience the effects of budgetary decisions? Given widespread attention to political dysfunction in US federal budgeting, conventional wisdom holds that employees are negatively affected by budgetary uncertainty (volatility, delays, and stop-gap measures). We test how budget size and uncertainty are associated with US federal employee attitudes using survey and archival data from 2005 to 2020. Results provide some evidence that employee job satisfaction improves with enhanced funds, but there is little to no support for the notion that budgetary uncertainty influences federal employees' job satisfaction.

Leadership And Context For Comprehensive Internationalization: Senior International Officer Perspectives, Elenora Haag Feb 2026

Leadership And Context For Comprehensive Internationalization: Senior International Officer Perspectives, Elenora Haag

Journal of Comparative & International Higher Education

Increasing attention has been paid in recent years to the nature and importance of the role of the senior international officer (SIO) in higher education institutions. With reference to Knight’s (1994) internationalization cycle and Tierney’s (1988) framework of organizational culture, this basic qualitative study examines the intersection of leadership and institutional context as mediators of the internationalization process, a perspective which is lacking in the existing literature. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 11 SIOs from institutions that have received a national award for internationalization, with strategic planning documents serving as a secondary data source. Findings suggest that the roles of …

The Relationship Between Emotional Intelligence And Decision-Making, Nelson Fernandes

Doctoral Dissertations and Projects

This qualitative phenomenological study explores how leaders with high emotional intelligence (EI) experience and describe decision-making in personal, organizational, and leadership contexts. Guided by Rational Choice Theory (RCT), Behavioral Decision Theory (BDT), and Moon’s (2021) emotional intelligence framework, the study integrates psychological perspectives with biblical principles to examine how self-awareness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal awareness contribute to ethical and effective decision-making. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with ten to fifteen purposively selected participants identified as possessing high levels of emotional intelligence. The findings indicate that leaders with high EI view emotions as informational resources rather than obstacles and intentionally integrate emotional …

These elements, while tangentially related, hold significant potential to amplify character formation and sense of belonging. This paper examines the intersection of AI, pedagogy of play, and character formation through a theoretical …

Four patterns emerged: bureaucratic inefficiency, misalignment with departmental needs, workaround behavior and declining institutional legitimacy. These themes informed a Governance-Implementation Feedback Model explaining how control-oriented procurement systems produce institutional erosion and adaptive resistance. The …
