Mediated Effect Of Perceived Supervisor Support On Leader-Member Exchange Quality And Employee’S Commitment, Jeffery Proby
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Social exchange relationship quality can influence an employee’s commitment to supporting continuous improvement (CI) initiatives. Researchers have established that leader-member exchange (LMX) quality and perceived supervisor support (PSS) can reduce employee commitment, affecting an organizational outcome. Based on the theoretical foundation of LMX quality theory, the purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to examine the relationship between the independent variables (LMX quality) and the dependent variable (affective commitment [AC]) through the mediated variable (PSS) and moderated mediation variable (workplace ostracism [WO]). Employee age, gender, tenure with the company, ethnicity, certification level, and the manufacturing sector were control variables of …

In 2017, the U.S. Congress mandated a specific reorganization and centralized approach in military medicine. The Air Force developed a medical reform construct to organize military treatment facilities (MTFs). The leaders of each unit are required to comply with the reorganization using internal resources with no additional funding or personnel. The purpose of this study was to deliver a plan of action and milestones (POAM) suitable for workgroup implementation to achieve the mandated health unit integration at a medium-sized MTF. The Role Between Transactive Memory Systems In The Relationship Between Psychological Safety & Quality In Interprofessional Healthcare Teams, Tera L. Webb
All ETDs from UAB
During uncertainty, the optimum solution for work-related problems or patient care cases require the scopes of practice and competencies beyond a single profession. For this reason, the collaborative efforts of interprofessional teams are a widely used approach to patient care and medical decision making. The interdependency between healthcare professionals with varied expertise and input often lead to desired outcomes. Beyond the structure of the team, there are numerous cognitive processes at play that impact knowledge transfer in highly skilled teams that impact outcomes. Therefore, this dissertation will review relevant literature on two cognitive constructs – psychological safety and transactive memory …

Journal of Occupational Therapy Education
Fieldwork shortages have been noted in the literature for some time. With the ever-changing healthcare system and an increasing number of students in occupational therapy programs, the scarcity of fieldwork placements is dire. Rooted in adult learning principles, the collaborative fieldwork supervision model is one approach to fieldwork education that may alleviate the shortage of placements, while also supporting student learning. This model is designed to have one fieldwork educator supervising two or more students throughout a fieldwork experience. The strengths and challenges of this model are well documented, although it is unclear if the identified challenges are the same …
