Health Literacy And A1c: Evaluating Glycemic Control In Patients With Type 2 Diabetes, Margaret Hickey Feb 2026

Health Literacy And A1c: Evaluating Glycemic Control In Patients With Type 2 Diabetes, Margaret Hickey

ETD Collection

More than 38 million Americans have diabetes, a chronic illness requiring daily self-management. This challenge is further complicated when patients lack health literacy skills, yet 36% of U.S. adults function at or below basic health literacy. Low health literacy and diabetes contribute to poor health outcomes, disproportionately affecting vulnerable populations. This quasi-experimental, descriptive, correlational study examined the impact of health literacy on A1C awareness, glycemic control, and diabetes knowledge in adults with type 2 diabetes, and evaluated a teaching intervention that used visual aids teach-back. Participants with type 2 diabetes (ages 18+, A1C > 7%) were recruited from an outpatient endocrinology …

Strategies To Recruit And Retain Imaging Ancillary Staff For Healthcare Organizations, Stephania Poveromo

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Hospitals and healthcare facilities in the United States continue to face persistent shortages of ancillary imaging technologists, creating significant challenges for hospital administrators. The purpose of this integrative review was to identify effective strategies for recruiting and retaining imaging staff in hospitals. The review question concerned what best practices and strategies healthcare administrators can use to improve the recruitment and retention of ancillary imaging staff. The theoretical frameworks for this research, strategic human resource development and Maslow’s theory of human motivation, provided a lens for understanding organizational enhancement and employee engagement, respectively. Following the application of inclusion and exclusion criteria, …

Post-Operative Hernia Site Infections, Agatha Francesca Inga Gittens-Stay

This doctoral project was a clinical practice guideline (CPG) focused on the development of a perioperative guideline for patients undergoing various types of hernia repairs. Hernia repair is a common surgical procedure to address various types of hernias.. To assure continued compliance with nationally set benchmarks and minimize the rate of postoperative hernia infections, a systematic review of evidence-based practices (EBP) to foster infection prevention was initiated at a hospital in England. The practice-focused question used was: For patients who underwent hernia repair surgery, what evidence informs CPG recommendations on the type of material, surgical interventions, and nursing interventions to …

Staff Education To Prevent Falls Among Older Adults In Primary Care, Chioma Nwosu Feb 2026

Staff Education To Prevent Falls Among Older Adults In Primary Care, Chioma Nwosu

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Falls are a significant health concern for the elderly population and a major cause of injury and functional decline among older adults, yet fall prevention practices are inconsistently applied in primary care. The purpose of this project is to evaluate the impact of staff education on fall risk screening and prevention for adults aged 65 years and older using the CDC’s Stopping Elderly Accidents, Deaths, and Injuries (STEADI) framework. This project employs a pre–post quality improvement design in a primary care clinic. Clinical staff received education on STEADI-based fall risk assessment, documentation, and evidence-based interventions. Data were collected through chart …

Food Councils And Federal Committees: Community Responses To Inaction On Food Insecurity By Government, Kevin O'Connell, Liam R. Rupprecht Feb 2026

Food Councils And Federal Committees: Community Responses To Inaction On Food Insecurity By Government, Kevin O'Connell, Liam R. Rupprecht

Binghamton University Undergraduate Journal

Food insecurity is a devastating force in the United States, as shown by its destructive impact on vulnerable groups like children, racial minorities, and those in poverty. Non-white urban communities of color especially have significantly higher rates of household food insecurity due to systemic racism in American food systems. Despite the prevalence of these factors, they are consistently overlooked by public and private forces. Federal efforts have failed to resolve the issue, leaving it to local “food council” organizations that attempt to help through advocacy and charity. These groups face a difficult task: how can they work to mitigate food …

Menumbuhkan Kepercayaan Untuk Loyalitas Merek Yang Berkelanjutan: Peran Kualitas, Nilai, Kepuasan, Dan Diferensiasi Dalam Layanan Terapi Anak, Riefka Anggraini Riefani

Jurnal Administrasi Bisnis Terapan

Parental loyalty toward child therapy services is a critical factor in ensuring the sustainability of child development therapy centers. This study aims to analyze the effects of perceived quality, perceived value, perceived satisfaction, and perceived differentiation on brand trust and brand loyalty within the context of a child development therapy center. The study adopts a quantitative explanatory approach using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM–PLS). A total of 784 respondents who had utilized pediatric therapy services participated in this study. The results indicate that brand trust is the strongest predictor of brand loyalty (β = 0.386; p < 0.001). Perceived differentiation exerts the strongest influence on brand trust (β = 0.399; p < 0.001). Perceived quality significantly affects brand trust but does not have a direct effect on brand loyalty. Meanwhile, perceived satisfaction and perceived value significantly influence both brand trust and brand loyalty. These findings underscore that parental loyalty is shaped by a combination of trust, service differentiation, satisfaction, and perceived value. This study provides important managerial implications for the development of effective strategies in pediatric therapy services.
