This study uses an econometric approach to examine how sustainability indicators affect agricultural output in Iraq. Water sustainability, food security sustainability, the agricultural labor force, and virtual water imports are independent variables, and agricultural output is the dependent variable. The analysis uses annual data from 1990 to 2024. The Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model is applied to analyze both short- and long-run relationships. Specifically, the results confirm the existence of a long-run equilibrium relationship between sustainability indicators and agricultural output. In the long run, water sustainability positively affects agricultural output, indicating a direct, expected relationship. Furthermore, food security sustainability has …

Photoaging caused by chronic sun exposure exhibits characteristics similar to intrinsic aging, including skin thinning, moisture loss, roughness, collagen degradation, and wrinkle formation. This process is driven by oxidative stress and the formation of malondialdehyde (MDA) as a result of lipid peroxidation. Topical intervention using antioxidant-based moisturizers could prevent further damage. Robusta coffee (Coffea canephora), high levels of chlorogenic acid and caffeine, is known for its antioxidant properties. When fermented with a Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast (SCOBY) to produce kombucha coffee, its bioactive compounds are enhanced, potentially offering additional protection against oxidative stress and photoaging. This …

Diarrhea is one of the leading causes of morbidity among children under five in Indonesia and remains a major public health concern, particularly in the province East Java, which has the second-highest disease burden in the country. Unfortunately, evidence for provincial-level predictors of childhood diarrhea using recent national data is limited. This study aimed to estimate the burden of diarrhea among children under five and identify its associated factors to support targeted child health interventions. A cross-sectional analysis was conducted utilizing data from the 2024 Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI). Data on children under five residing in East Java with …

Female sexual dysfunction (FSD) is a common condition that impairs women's quality of life and is frequently associated with obesity. Beyond hormonal and vascular mechanisms, chronic low-grade inflammation, particularly elevated interleukin-6 (IL-6), has been proposed as a biological mediator of this association. This systematic review, registered in PROSPERO (CRD420251046082), aimed to evaluate the role of IL-6 in mediating the association between obesity and FSD. A comprehensive search of PubMed, Scopus, Embase, and Web of Science was conducted for studies published between 2018 and 2025, focusing on obese women, quantitative IL-6 measurements, and validated assessments of sexual function such as the …

Journal of Bioresource Management
Endophytic actinobacteria are a diverse group of Gram-positive bacteria with high G+C content, which inhabit plants’ internal tissues, and represent a significant yet underexplored reservoir of bioactive secondary metabolites. In host plants, a remarkable repertoire of metabolites, including broad-spectrum antibiotics, anticancer, antiviral, antifungal, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory compounds, is synthesized by these microbial allies, carrying significant medicinal and agricultural potential. These endophytes, in contrast to their soil relatives, have developed unique biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) strongly influenced by plant-associated factors, leading to the production of structurally novel metabolites. In recent years, the advances in genome mining, metagenomics, and metabolomics have accelerated …
