Characterization Of Serx: A Putative Periplasmic Binding Protein In A Selenate Respiring Bacteria, Henry Jacques, Susan E. Childers

A selenate respiring bacterium, Dechloromonas sp. A34, was isolated from a seleniferous mining site in southeastern Idaho. A34 was of interest due to its ability to respire up to 20 mM selenate, the highest concentration tested. The strain has been proposed to represent a new species of bacteria within the Dechloromonas genera, with the prospective name Dechloromonas selenatirespirans (manuscript in preparation). Our research presents characterization of a putative periplasmic binding protein found within an operon that contains genes encoding a putative selenate reductase. Assisted reproductive technologies (ARTs) have been a valuable tool in allowing many people to have children who previously struggled with infertility. However, feminists have raised the question: what impact do these new reproductive technologies have on women? This thesis investigates the discourse around the social implications of ARTs from the seventies to the present day. Looking at both feminist literature and portrayals of ARTs in women’s magazines, I performed a discourse analysis to track how the perception of the social implications of ARTs has changed over time. This project seeks to understand how deregulatory zoning policies, a supply-side tool to increase housing supply of affordable homes, spread across the 300 largest U.S. cities, or not. This thesis explores the representations of men attracted to men (MAM) in South Korean media through the theoretical lens of queerscapes. Queerscapes refer to the physical and metaphorical spaces alternative queer existences occupy amidst dominant heteronormative environments. By analyzing a queer independent film, a bestselling novel, and a subversive boys’ love (BL) drama, this study examines how characters in these media actively carve out alternative spaces of existence. Bifunctional alkylating agents have demonstrated high clinical utility as a chemotherapeutic strategy against cancer. These compounds have been well-characterized for their capacity to exert cytotoxicity via interstrand DNA crosslinking. However, the same electrophilic chemistry can also form DNA-protein crosslinks (DPCs) whose contributions to these drugs’ antitumor effects have been less well-defined. Recently, the metalloprotease SPRTN has been implicated as a predominant mediator of DPC repair in mammalian cells. Previous work has demonstrated that SPRTN deficiency increases the sensitivity of cancer cells to DPC-inducing agents such as formaldehyde and cisplatin, but these findings have yet to be translated more broadly across …

This thesis examines what is at stake in the highly-racialized, -sexualized, and -gendered systems in which male Colby students craft self-concepts and how the college culture both rejects and replicates broader social notions of masculinity. Such operations, however, raise a variety of legal and public policy questions, all requiring answers before drone deliveries become commonplace in the package delivery ecosystem. "Hip-hop music dominates popular culture and fuels the global entertainment industry, from music to dance, film, advertising, television, social media, and the internet.8 Hip-hop music, also known as rap, is an art form created by African American artists, but largely controlled through distribution and intellectual property ('IP') transfers by majority white-led corporations.9 From its inception, hip-hop presented a challenge to prevailing theories and doctrines of intellectual property, especially copyright law. In recent suits around the world against U.S. tech giants-e.g., litigation in Canada against Twitter (now X), in Kenya against Facebook, and in Europe against Google-plaintiffs urge foreign courts to adapt concepts like specific personal jurisdiction in flexible ways to allow litigation to proceed. In their defense, the U.S. companies are reusing the argument that similarly situated defendants successfully deployed in U.S. courts over the last few decades-that the cases are too foreign and do not belong in these courts. งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความพึงพอใจและการรับรู้คุณค่าตราสินค้าของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ต่อกิจกรรมเปิดบ้านคณะนิเทศศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ระหว่างรูปแบบวิดีทัศน์และสื่ออิเล็กทรอนิกส์ กับรูปแบบจักรวาลนฤมิต (Metaverse) โดยใช้การวิจัยกึ่งทดลองกับนักเรียน 61 คน แบ่งเป็นสองกลุ่มทดลอง วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการทดสอบค่า t ผลการวิจัยพบว่า รูปแบบจักรวาลนฤมิตมีความพึงพอใจสูงกว่ารูปแบบวิดีทัศน์ในทุกด้าน ได้แก่ ด้านเนื้อหา ด้านรูปภาพและเทคนิคการนำเสนอ และภาพรวมกิจกรรม โดยมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p < 0.001) ในด้านการรับรู้คุณค่าตราสินค้า พบว่าคะแนนเฉลี่ยเพิ่มขึ้นในทุกมิติ ได้แก่ การรู้จักชื่อตราสินค้า การรับรู้ตราสินค้า ความสัมพันธ์ และความภักดีต่อตราสินค้า ผลการวิจัยสรุปว่า รูปแบบจักรวาลนฤมิตสามารถเพิ่มความพึงพอใจและการรับรู้คุณค่าตราสินค้าได้ดีกว่ารูปแบบวิดีทัศน์และสื่ออิเล็กทรอนิกส์อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ

A global shortage of chefs and cooks currently exists within the hospitality industry, exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic. Migrant cooks are essential to the culinary industry, yet remain relatively anonymous within the academic literature, a research gap which this original paper seeks to address. Using a phenomenological epistemology, combined with the theoretical framework of hospitality and practice theory, this qualitative research focused on investigating the lived experience of the professional lives and identities of immigrant cooks working in Paris, France, the birthplace of the restaurant. Using the hedonic pricing theory, this study investigates the relationship between Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and hotel room rates in Yangon, Myanmar. Using a dataset of 168 hotels from Yangon, we examined how FDI influences hotel room rates for weekdays and weekends. Our analysis employs the Log-Linear OLS regression model, by using affiliation to a chain, size of hotels, hotel stars rating, service provided by the hotels, location of the hotels, presence of the online, and online customer review ratings on Agoda, Booking.com, Trip.com, and Expedia. We find that FDI has a positive correlation with hotel room rates in Yangon. …

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่ออธิบายความเป็นอวัตถุของแรงงานมัคคุเทศก์ และแรงงานเสี่ยงของมัคคุเทศก์ในอุตสาหกรรมท่องเที่ยวไทย โดยชี้ให้เห็นถึงการสะสมทุนในศตวรรษที่ 21ที่ส่งผลกระทบต่อแรงงานมัคคุเทศก์กลุ่มนี้ ผ่านการศึกษาวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยใช้วิธีการศึกษา จากการสำรวจเอกสาร และการลงพื้นที่เก็บข้อมูลการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกกึ่งมีโครงสร้างจาก ผู้ให้สัมภาษณ์ที่เป็นแรงงานมัคคุเทศก์ทั้งหมดจำนวน 10 คน ผลการศึกษา พบว่า แรงงานมัคคุเทศก์เป็นแรงงานอวัตถุ เนื่องจากต้องใช้ความคิด อารมณ์ และความรู้สึกในการสร้างมูลค่าให้กับผลงานผ่านการเล่าเรื่องราว เพื่อสร้างภาพลักษณ์ สร้างการรับรู้สร้างอารมณ์และความรู้สึกที่น่าจดจำให้กับนักท่องเที่ยว ยิ่งไปกว่านั้น วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้พยายามอธิบายว่ามัคคุเทศก์เป็นแรงงานอวัตถุที่ใช้ทักษะประเภทหนึ่ง ในการทำงานมากกว่าอาชีพอื่นเป็นพิเศษ คือการใช้อารมณ์ในการปฏิบัติงาน ซึ่งเป็นกระบวนการในการจัดการอารมณ์และการแสดงออกเพื่อตอบสนองความต้องการทางอารมณ์ของงานนำเที่ยว นอกจากนี้ ค้นพบว่าแรงงานมัคคุเทศก์ต้องเผชิญกับสถานะแรงงานเสี่ยงเช่นเดียวกัน โดยศึกษาจากลักษณะของการทำงานนำเที่ยว ทั้งในด้านของงานที่มีลักษณะชั่วคราว งานที่ไม่มีความแน่นอน งานที่ขาดความมั่นคงและขาดสวัสดิการ จากการศึกษาในครั้งนี้ชี้ให้เห็นถึงวิถีการทำงาน การจ้างงาน และผลกระทบของแรงงานมัคคุเทศก์ท่ามกลางการสะสมทุนร่วมสมัย ทำให้มัคคุเทศก์อยู่ในสภาวะงานเสี่ยงที่ไม่สามารถ มีความมั่นคง และมองเห็นอนาคตตนเอง อันจะเป็นความเสี่ยงในเชิงการยกระดับมาตรฐาน ในคุณภาพชีวิตและการดำรงชีวิตของมัคคุเทศก์

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันและสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ในการจัดการเรียนรู้เพศศึกษาในศตวรรษที่ 21 ของครูสุขศึกษา 2) เพื่อศึกษาความต้องการจำเป็นของครูสุขศึกษา ในการจัดการเรียนรู้เพศศึกษาในศตวรรษที่ 21 และ 3) เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางการจัดการเรียนรู้เพศศึกษาของครูสุขศึกษา ในศตวรรษที่ 21 กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ ครูสุขศึกษาในโรงเรียน สังกัด สพฐ. จำนวน 252 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้เป็นแบบสบถาม วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติบรรยาย ได้แก่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และวิเคราะห์จัดลำดับความสำคัญ โดยใช้สูตร Priority Needs Index แบบปรับปรุง (PNImodified) และการศึกษาแนวทางการวิจัย โดยใช้หลักการแนวคิดของความต้องการจำเป็น ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) สภาพปัจจุบันของการจัดการเรียนรู้เพศศึกษาในศตวรรษที่ 21 ของครูสุขศึกษาด้านสื่อเเละเเหล่งการเรียนรู้เพศศึกษา ในภาพรวมจัดอยู่ในระดับปานกลางถึงน้อยทุกด้าน ขณะที่สภาพที่พึงประสงค์ในการจัดการเรียนรู้เพศศึกษาในศตวรรษที่ 21 ในภาพรวมจัดอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุดทุกด้าน 2) ความต้องการจำเป็นของครูสุขศึกษา ในการจัดการเรียนรู้เพศศึกษาในศตวรรษที่ 21 ของครูสุขศึกษา มีดัชนีความต้องการจำเป็นในทุกด้าน โดยด้านการวัดและประเมินผลการจัดการเรียนรู้เพศศึกษา มีความจำเป็นมากที่สุด (PNImodified= 0.72) ขณะที่ด้านสื่อเเละเเหล่งการเรียนรู้เพศศึกษา มีความจำเป็นน้อยที่สุด (PNImodified= 0.51) และ 3) แนวทางพัฒนาการจัดการเรียนรู้เพศศึกษาในศตวรรษที่ 21 ของครูสุขศึกษาในภาพรวม ผู้เชี่ยวชาญประเมินคุณภาพอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้านเรียงตามลำดับ พบว่าความเหมาะสมและความเป็นไปได้ ลำดับแรกคือ ด้านสาระการเรียนรู้เพศศึกษา รองลงมาคือ ด้านวัตถุประสงค์การจัดการเรียนรู้เพศศึกษาด้านกระบวนการจัดการเรียนรู้เพศศึกษา ด้านสื่อเเละเเหล่งการเรียนรู้เพศศึกษา ด้านหลักการจัดการเรียนรู้เพศศึกษา และด้านการวัดและประเมินผลการจัดการเรียนรู้เพศศึกษา ตามลำดับ

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เพื่อศึกษาสภาพและความต้องการรูปแบบเทคโนโลยีสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้แบบหนึ่งต่อหนึ่งโดยใช้การเรียนรู้แบบสืบสอบเชิงชี้แนะเน้นกระบวนการเพื่อส่งเสริมการรู้ดิจิทัลของนักเรียนประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย 2) เพื่อพัฒนารูปแบบเทคโนโลยี สนับสนุนการเรียนรู้แบบหนึ่งต่อหนึ่งโดยใช้การเรียนรู้แบบสืบสอบเชิงชี้แนะเน้นกระบวนการเพื่อส่งเสริมการรู้ดิจิทัลของนักเรียนประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย และ 3) เพื่อศึกษาผลการใช้รูปแบบเทคโนโลยีสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้แบบหนึ่งต่อหนึ่งโดยใช้การเรียนรู้แบบสืบสอบเชิงชี้แนะเน้นกระบวนการเพื่อส่งเสริมการรู้ดิจิทัลของนักเรียนประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย ตัวอย่างการวิจัยที่ใช้ในการศึกษาสภาพและความต้องการรูปแบบ เทคโนโลยีสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้แบบหนึ่งต่อหนึ่งโดยใช้การเรียนรู้แบบสืบสอบเชิงชี้แนะเน้นกระบวนการเพื่อส่งเสริมการรู้ดิจิทัลของนักเรียนประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย ผู้วิจัยคัดเลือกตัวอย่างจากการสุ่มอย่างง่าย (Simple random sampling) ได้แก่ ข้าราชการครูและบุคลากรทางการศึกษากรุงเทพมหานคร ที่จัดการเรียนการสอนในระดับประถมศึกษาตอนปลายในโรงเรียนสังกัดกรุงเทพมหานคร จำนวน 384 คน จากการคำนวณด้วยสูตรของ Cochran (1977) และตัวอย่างการวิจัยที่ใช้ในการศึกษาผลการใช้รูปแบบเทคโนโลยีสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้แบบหนึ่งต่อหนึ่งโดยใช้การเรียนรู้แบบสืบสอบเชิงชี้แนะเน้นกระบวนการเพื่อส่งเสริมการรู้ดิจิทัลของนักเรียนประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย ได้มาจากการเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเจาะจง (Purposing sampling) ได้แก่ นักเรียนระดับประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 โรงเรียนชุมทางตลิ่งชัน สำนักงานเขตตลิ่งชัน จำนวน 26 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ 1) แบบสอบถามสภาพและความต้องการรูปแบบเทคโนโลยีสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้แบบหนึ่งต่อหนึ่งโดยใช้การเรียนรู้แบบสืบสอบเชิงชี้แนะเน้นกระบวนการเพื่อส่งเสริมการรู้ดิจิทัลของนักเรียนประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย 2) แบบสัมภาษณ์สำหรับผู้เชี่ยวชาญแบบมีโครงสร้าง 3) แบบประเมิน รูปแบบเทคโนโลยีสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้แบบหนึ่งต่อหนึ่งโดยใช้การเรียนรู้แบบสืบสอบเชิงชี้แนะเน้นกระบวนการเพื่อส่งเสริมการรู้ดิจิทัลของนักเรียนประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย 4) แนวทางการใช้รูปแบบเทคโนโลยีสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้แบบหนึ่งต่อหนึ่งโดยใช้การเรียนรู้แบบสืบสอบเชิงชี้แนะเน้นกระบวนการเพื่อส่งเสริมการรู้ดิจิทัลของนักเรียนระดับประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย 5) เกณฑ์การประเมินการรู้ดิจิทัลของนักเรียนแบบรูบริค และ 6) แบบสอบถามความคิดเห็นของนักเรียนที่มีต่อการเรียนรู้ตามรูปแบบเทคโนโลยีสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้แบบหนึ่งต่อหนึ่งโดยใช้การเรียนรู้แบบสืบสอบเชิงชี้แนะเน้นกระบวนการเพื่อส่งเสริมการรู้ดิจิทัลของนักเรียนประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ประกอบด้วย 1) วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลพื้นฐานของตัวอย่างที่ใช้การวิจัยโดยใช้สถิติบรรยาย ได้แก่ ค่าความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน 2) วิเคราะห์สภาพและความต้องการโดยใช้ดัชนีความสำคัญของลำดับความต้องการจำเป็นหรือ Modified Priority Needs Index: PNImodified และ 3) วิเคราะห์การรู้ดิจิทัลของนักเรียนประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย โดยใช้ความแปรปรวนทางเดียวแบบวัดซ้ำ (One-Way Repeated Measure ANOVA) ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ว่า 1) สภาพและความต้องการรูปแบบเทคโนโลยีสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้แบบหนึ่งต่อหนึ่งฯ แบ่งออกเป็น 2 ด้าน ได้แก่ 1) ด้านกระบวนการเรียนรู้เพื่อส่งเสริมการรู้ดิจิทัล 2) รูปแบบเทคโนโลยีสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้แบบหนึ่งต่อหนึ่งฯ ประกอบไปด้วย 4 องค์ประกอบ ได้แก่ 1) Learner and Instructor 2) Learning Environment and Support …

เอกัตศึกษาฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางในการกำหนดให้ผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพบัญชีมีหน้าที่ในการรายงานธุรกรรมที่มีเหตุอันควรสงสัย ซึ่งเป็นมาตรฐานของ FATF ที่ประเทศไทยยังไม่มีบทบัญญัติในเรื่องดังกล่าวและจากการประเมินตามมาตรฐานของ FATF โดย APG ที่ประเทศไทยเป็นสมาชิกนั้นแนะนำให้ประเทศไทยจำเป็นที่จะต้องมีการกำหนดหน้าที่ดังกล่าวให้กับผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพบัญชี เพื่อให้เป็นไปตามมาตรฐานสากล ด้วยเหตุดังกล่าวทำให้ทางสำนักงานป้องกันและปราบปรามการฟอกเงินได้มีการจัดทำร่างพระราชบัญญัติป้องกันและปราบปรามการฟอกเงิน ฉบับแก้ไขเพิ่มเติม กำหนดให้ผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพบัญชีเป็นผู้มีหน้าที่รายงานธุรกรรมที่มีเหตุอันควรสงสัยขึ้นมาและได้มีการให้ทางสภาวิชาชีพบัญชีให้ความเห็นต่อร่างพระราชบัญญัติดังกล่าวว่าการกำหนดหน้าที่ให้เป็นผู้มีหน้าที่รายงานธุรกรรมที่มีเหตุอันควรสงสัยของผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพบัญชีนั้นยังคงมีปัญหาและอุปสรรคในการปฏิบัติหน้าที่ดังกล่าวของผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพบัญชี ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการเพิ่มภาระที่เกินขอบเขต การไม่มีแนวทางในการพิจารณาลักษณะธุรกรรมที่มีเหตุอันควรสงสัย การขัดต่อจรรยาบรรณทางวิชาชีพในเรื่องการรักษาความลับของลูกค้า และการปฏิบัติหน้าที่ตามบทบัญญัติมาตรา 89/25 ของพระราชบัญญัติหลักทรัพย์และตลาดหลักทรัพย์ พ.ศ. 2535 ทำให้การกำหนดหน้าที่ดังกล่าวยังไม่สามารถบังคับใช้ในประเทศไทย จากปัญหาและอุปสรรคดังกล่าวทำให้มีการศึกษาแนวทางจาก FATF รวมทั้งแนวทางในต่างประเทศ โดยเอกัตศึกษาฉบับนี้ได้ศึกษาแนวทางจากประเทศนิวซีแลนด์และประเทศสิงคโปร์ที่มีการบังคับใช้กฎหมายในเรื่องนี้แล้ว และทั้งสองประเทศดังกล่าวเป็นสมาชิกทั้ง FATF และ APG จึงมีแนวทางที่เป็นตามมาตรฐานสากลที่สามารถนำมาศึกษาเพื่อปรับใช้กับการกำหนดหน้าที่ให้ผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพบัญชีเป็นผู้มีหน้าที่รายงานธุรกรรมที่มีเหตุอันควรสงสัยที่เหมาะสมกับประเทศไทย จากผลการศึกษาจากแนวทางในต่างประเทศพบว่า หน่วยงานกำกับดูแลได้มีการจัดทำแนวทางในการปฏิบัติตามกฎหมายการฟอกเงินสำหรับผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพบัญชี จึงเสนอให้ทางสำนักงานป้องกันและปราบปรามการฟอกเงินควรมีการจัดทำแนวทางปฏิบัติในการทำหน้าที่เป็นผู้มีหน้าที่รายงานธุรกรรมที่มีเหตุอันควรสงสัยและหน้าที่อื่น ๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องสำหรับผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพบัญชี โดยมีการกำหนดลักษณะธุรกรรมที่มีเหตุอันควรสงสัยเพื่อให้ผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพบัญชีเป็นแนวทางในการพิจารณาลักษณะธุรกรรมที่ต้องมีการรายงานกับทางสำนักงานป้องกันและปราบปรามการฟอกเงิน นอกจากนี้เสนอให้มีมาตรการอื่น ๆ เพิ่มเติมเพื่อช่วยลดอุปสรรคในการปฏิบัติหน้าที่ดังกล่าว ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการรวมกลุ่มธุรกิจเพื่อแบ่งปันข้อมูลในการตรวจสอบเพื่อทราบข้อเท็จจริงของลูกค้า การจัดอบรมให้กับผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพบัญชี และการนำเทคโนโลยีมาใช้โดยมีการพัฒนาเครื่องมือที่สามารถตรวจสอบธุรกรรมต้องสงสัย โดยข้อเสนอแนะดังกล่าวสามารถเป็นแนวทางสำนักงานป้องกันและปราบปรามการฟอกเงินใช้ในการปรับปรุงการกำหนดหน้าให้ผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพบัญชีเป็นผู้มีหน้าที่ในการรายงานธุรกรรมที่มีเหตุอันควรสงสัยที่เหมาะสมกับประเทศไทย
