Analog Channel Fault Detection, Anonymous Jul 2025

Analog Channel Fault Detection, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

The present disclosure relates to analog fault detection in amplified spontaneous emission (ASE)-loaded optical line systems, specifically addressing channel power degradation scenarios that are not detectable by conventional digital methods. The disclosed solution initiates fault detection based on integrated, filtered channel power measurements taken at the line-out location of a section multiplexer (section-mux). These measurements are back-scaled to the corresponding section-mux input and compared against forward-scaled measurements and expected channel input power. By comparing these scaled power values, the solution accurately distinguishes between upstream faults (such as incorrect transmitter frequency tuning, silent pixel failures in wavelength selective switches, or fiber …

Selectively Suppress Evpn Routes (Rt1, Rt2 & Rt3) During Rt Mismatch In Evpn Multihomed Topology With Rtc, Anonymous

Defensive Publications Series

The present disclosure describes a method for selectively suppressing Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN) route advertisements (specifically Route Types RT1, RT2, and RT3) during Route Target (RT) mismatches in EVPN multihomed topologies employing Route Target Constraints (RTC). The method involves differentiating RT advertisements based on Ethernet Segment (ES) identifiers by including ES extended community information within RTC updates. Upon detecting RT mismatches between multihomed Provider Edge (PE) routers, selective suppression is applied exclusively to certain non-essential EVPN routes (RT1 with VLAN tags, RT2 MAC/IP advertisements, and RT3 Inclusive Multicast routes). Critical EVPN routes necessary for Designated Forwarder (DF) election, aliasing, …

Baker, Steven C. Munger

Faculty Research 2025

Genetic variation leads to phenotypic variability in pluripotent stem cells that presents challenges for regenerative medicine. Although recent studies have investigated the impact of genetic variation on pluripotency maintenance and differentiation capacity, less is known about how genetic variants affecting the pluripotent state influence gene regulation later in development. Here, we characterized expression of 12,000 genes in a large panel of donor-matched Diversity Outbred mouse embryonic stem cell and mouse neural progenitor cell lines. QTL mapping identified 4,060 expression QTLs in mouse neural progenitor cells, including 2,998 local and 1,062 distant expression QTLs. In a comparison of mouse neural progenitor …

Laying The Groundwork For Liberatory Expressive Arts Research: A Queer Review, Robyn E. Ginsberg

Expressive Therapies Theses

The goal of this thesis was to reveal the interconnectedness of disparate discourse across diverse disciplines and locate it within one queer domain. The intersection of (expressive) art and (community/participatory) action is a space within which queer collaboration can take place. It is a space that can accommodate and energize non-normative idea generation and exchange which can mobilize queer resistance to create societal change (Fernández & Fine, 2024; Rutten, 2016). By engaging with interdisciplinary literature and situating conceptual frameworks in dialogue this review provides a foundation for liberatory expressive arts research (LExAR) and practice. Key themes include: centering queer and …

It is widely reported that teachers in their first 5 years of entering the profession are highly likely to leave their teaching positions. There have been many discussions on how to keep beginning teachers in the profession, mainly in Western countries. However, no such discourse exists on teacher retention in non-Western contexts, such as Saudi Arabia. This study aimed to extend Western literature to the Middle Eastern context by investigating the retention of beginning teachers in Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. Four hundred and sixty-six novice teachers were evaluated using the Teacher Retention Scale, which was developed on the …

Faculty Perceptions Of The Affective Domain In Entry-To-Practice Respiratory Therapy Education: An Exploratory Descriptive Qualitative Study, Jackie W. Davis

Graduate Theses, Dissertations, and Capstones

Background: The affective domain of learning is one of the three learning domains that comprise Bloom's Taxonomy of learning. The respiratory therapy profession places a great emphasis on the development and assessment of all three learning domains in entry-to-practice respiratory therapy education. While the cognitive and psychomotor domains receive significant attention, the affective domain of learning is often given less attention due to its complexity and lack of definition in the profession. Purpose: An exploratory descriptive qualitative study focused on exploring the affective domain of learning in entry-to-practice respiratory therapy education, specifically how the domain is defined, and …

Benford's Law In Basic Rnn And Long Short-Term Memory And Their Associations, Farshad Ghassemi Toosi

Department of Computer Science Publications

Benford's Law describes the distribution of numerical patterns, specifically focusing on the frequency of the leading digit in a set of natural numbers. It divides these numbers into nine groups based on their first digit, with the largest category comprising numbers beginning with 1, followed by those starting with 2, and so on. Each neuron within a neural network (NN) is associated with a numerical value called a weight, which is updated according to specific functions. This research examines the Degree of Benford's Law Existence (DBLE) across two language model methodologies: (1) recurrent neural networks (RNNs) and (2) long short-term …

Parents Of Adolescents On Electronic Use And Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder: Parental Perspectives, Sleep, Internalization, Jessica Wiepking

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

ADHD in adolescents is a common diagnosis, with exposure to daily electronic use. There is strong evidence for a relationship between electronic use and ADHD in adolescents. However, there is a gap on electronic use, internalized feelings, and sleep behaviors in ADHD adolescents and how sleep behaviors might impact that relationship. ADHD has its core symptoms that impact the individual daily. These symptoms need to be taken into consideration when looking at internalized feelings and sleep behavior patterns. The theoretical framework that aligns with this study is the Dopaminergic Dysregulation Theory (DDT). This theory is a module that suggests that …
