Electoral Due Process, Michael S. Kang

Northwestern University Law Review

Hyperpartisanship has hit century-long highs in American politics and is emboldening state government attempts to undermine election outcomes by using control over state lawmaking structure to strip away authority, and sometimes outright unseat, partisan opponents after they win elected office. Even as traditional norms against such moves have eroded, the Supreme Court has taken a pro-partisanship turn in removing judicial checks against such moves under equal protection and constitutional structure. This Article proposes shifting from challenges under those doctrines to a new approach under electoral due process for confronting this new generation of antidemocracy. Rethinking “Moroccan Personality”: Historical Grounding And Interpretation In Ṭayeb Biad’S Al-Šakhṣiyya Al-Maġribiyya: TaʾṢīl Wa-TaʾWīl, Taoufik Ait Bouchgour

This article offers an academic discussion of Ṭayyib Biyāḍ’s al-Šakhṣiyya al-Maġribiyya: Taʾṣīl wa-Taʾwīl (Tīṭwān, Editions Bāb al-Ḥikma, 2024), arguing that the book reframes a highly politicized identity question into a historical problem open to critical inquiry. The discussion highlights three main analytical operators: (1) space (al-insān wa-al-maǧāl) as a key to understanding circulation, borders, and social recomposition; (2) the longue durée as a safeguard against essentializing “personality”; and (3) the use of historical thresholds—baṣmat al-islām (the imprint of Islam) and ṣadmat al-ḥadāṯa (the shock of modernity)—together with the notion of al-izdiwāǧiyya (duality) to interpret contemporary tensions. Making Meaning: Representations, Learning, And Contemporary Imaginaries, Nadia Kaaouas, Taoufik Ait Bouchgour

This issue explores meaning-making in contemporary societies by foregrounding representations, learning, and cultural imaginaries. Across digital media, cultural practices (including orally transmitted traditions), literary studies, pedagogy, and linguistics, the contributions show how oral, written, and visual forms of expression shape social relations, construct identities, and rework inherited cultural patterns. Literature is approached as a space for self-reinvention; schooling as a laboratory for skills and learner motivation; and linguistic analysis as an essential tool for the circulation of knowledge. Complementarily, heritage-oriented perspectives emphasize that the viability of cultural practices depends on ongoing transmission across generations.

On digital social networks and Instagram in particular, female influencers mainly use images to communicate with their audience. A form of visual communication that allows them to enter a process of digital self-presentation. On Instagram, the female influencers in our sample are depicted as perfect, slim body and attractive. These images can impact women's perception of their own bodies and self-worth. A visual/virtual representation that can encourage women to seek an unrealistic physical perfection maintaining, in order to achieve this ideal, a set of stereotypes that persist in the social imaginary. Preservasi merupakan salah satu upaya penanganan ovarium untuk mempertahankankualitas oosit yang telah diambil dari tubuh ternak agar dapat dimanfaatkan untuk Fertilisasi InVitro. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh waktu preservasi ovarium dombalokal terhadap ukuran folikel dan kualitas oosit. Sampel yang digunakan adalah ovarium domba lokal yang diperoleh dari tempat pemotongan hewan setempat. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode eksperimental, dengan pemberian tiga perlakuan dan enam kali ulangan yaitu: P1= preservasi ovarium pada suhu 37o-38oC selama 2 jam, P2= preservasi ovarium pada suhu 4o-5oC selama 11-12 jam, dan P3= preservasi ovarium pada suhu 4o-5oC selama 24-25 jam. Performa reproduksi merupakan faktor utama dalam mendukung keberhasilan usahaternak sapi perah. Performa reproduksi yang rendah dapat menyebabkan berbagai kerugianseperti produksi susu rendah, produksi pedet yang terlambat, pelayanan IB yang tinggi, yang terakumulasi pada kerugian secara ekonomi. Salah satu performa reproduksi yang menjadi perhatian khusus adalah masa kosong yang merupakan waktu antara periode melahirakan sampai sapi tersebut bunting kembali. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik sifat fisik karkas ayam broiler berdasarkan bobot badan hidup. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Teknologi Pengolahan Produk Peternakan Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran Bandung. Ayam broiler dengan bobot badan 1,3 – 1,5 kg digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Peralatan yang digunakan untuk analisa adalah timbangan duduk, timbangan analitik, termometer, penetrometer. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode survei. Responden penelitian adalah ibu rumah tangga yang ada di kota Padang. Teknik pengambilan sampel secara cluster random sampling berdasarkan wilayah pemukiman yang dibagi menjadi wilayah pusat kota dan wilayah pinggiran kota. Jumlah sampel ditentukan secara quota sebanyak 120 orang yang dipilih dengan metode accidental. Serum merupakan salah satu suplemen yang diperlukan pada media untuk maturasi in vitro. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan tingkat kematangan inti oosit maturasi in vitro selama 24 jam dalam media maturasi yang ditambahkan serum buatan 10% dan Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) 10%. Oosit dikoleksi dengan metode slicing dalam media modified phosphate buffer saline. Oosit yang digunakan adalah oosit yang masih dilapisi dua lapis sel kumulus dan mempunyai sitoplasma homogen. Mayonnaise merupakan produk olahan emulsi semi padat minyak dalam air (o/w) dengan konsentrasi minyak yang tinggi. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan jenis minyak nabati diduga akan mempengaruhi sifat fisik dan akseptabilitas mayonnaise. Sports provide many examples of finance and economics principles. In this paper, we provide seven sports examples that can be used to demonstrate various topics in and out of the classroom. These examples can be used either to introduce material or to assist more advanced students in gaining a deeper understanding of the subject matter. The teaching of pre-college economics has been widely researched for over 45 years with studies focused upon teacher training and improving students’ understanding. This paper reviews that research base, and reports the results of a new national survey, as well as a summary of several recent developments in the field of economic education. Young people can learn economics best when taught by knowledgeable teachers using well developed curriculum materials. But, to accommodate expanding state requirements, pertinacious state bureaucracies must increase teacher training and curriculum standards.
