This Anger Has No Home, Lamarcus M. Lenoir Jr.

Landshark Literary Review

This poem was written because of my frustrations with the media and how the Palestinian genocide is being portrayed. I wanted to combat the way people try to use religion to in a way justify these horrific acts.

Kinky Friedman And His Influence On Jewish American Music, Mara W. Cohen Ioannides Mar 2026

Kinky Friedman And His Influence On Jewish American Music, Mara W. Cohen Ioannides

Music & Musical Performance: An International Journal

Kinky Friedman changed American pop music and Country and Western music’s presentation of Jews. Because of his satirical and counter culture lyrics, the idea that Jews could be Jewish on stage without having to point out they were Jewish was a part of the stage persona that Friedman adopted. His biting lyrics pointed to the derogatory ways that Americans view the other and what he saw as hypocritical Christian values. Additionally, he is set the stage to address painful issues in music, writing and performing the first popular song about the Holocaust. Dubbed the founder of “Redneck Rock” or a …

Despite the implementation of national programs like the National Safe Motherhood Program (NSMP) that aim to improve maternal health outcomes, many women in the Philippines continue to face barriers in accessing quality maternal healthcare (MHC) due to systemic, societal, and psychological factors. Ongoing issues such as poor service delivery, limited health education, and the lack of autonomy in decision-making—particularly in underserved communities—discourage women from seeking care. This study investigates these barriers and how they shape the overall well-being of mothers in Miriam College’s partnered community, Kaingin 1, using the Integrated People-Centered Health Services Framework (IPCHSF) as a lens. Through an …

Uncovering Political Agendas: A Multimodal Critical Discourse Analysis Of Philippine Government Agencies’ Websites, Charlaine G. Alodaga, Julia Cailean G. Dueñas, Giulia Renee Singson, Justine Gabrielle Lee Yu, Janeson Miranda

DLSU Senior High School Research Congress Conference Proceedings

The role of websites in communicating government services and updates to constituents is paramount since they can serve as dependable hubs of critical information. However, since these are government websites, there may be political considerations behind their visual and textual content that need to be uncovered. Yet, there has been a dearth of studies, especially in the Philippine context, that scrutinized the sociopolitical forces that are at play in the production of these website contents. Hence, in this study, we attempted to continue seamlessly meshing the critical discourse analysis framework of Fairclough with a multimodal analytical model in dissecting the …

DLSU Senior High School Research Congress Conference Proceedings

With the massive rise in popularity that social media has gained in recent years, platforms like TikTok have experienced exponential growth. The search interest for TikTok has increased by a staggering 227% in the past five years (Howarth, 2024). As TikTok’s short-form content dominates the digital space, product and restaurant reviews have become a staple on users’ “For You” pages. Despite this trend, there is limited research on how food influencers shape public perception through persuasive speech. This study addresses that gap by using thematic analysis to examine the rhetorical strategies employed by influencers in TikTok restaurant reviews. The research …

The anonymity afforded by university freedom walls proliferates the spread of information and digital gossip, actively shaping ideologies surrounding campus hierarchies—an influence that remains critically underexplored in academic research. This study addresses that gap by seeking to understand how freedom walls function as a form of discourse that constructs and negotiates hierarchical ideologies within academic communities. It analyzed 18 purposively sampled posts from the three most followed Facebook freedom walls of universities in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), namely the University of the Philippines Diliman (UP), National University (NU), and Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU). Using Fairclough's …

In the face of injustice and oppression, history remembers those who dared to resist. GomBurZa (2023), directed by Pepe Diokno, follows the story of the three martyred priests—Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora—whose execution in 1872 ignited a national awakening during the Spanish colonial rule in the Philippines. This qualitative study explored how the Baby Boomer Generation and Generation Z in Metro Manila received and interpreted the film. It reflected whether their views about Gomburza evolved and revealed converging and diverging opinions within and between the two generations. It also investigated the broader implications of their responses for understanding …

Reinhard argues that climate change is driving an eastward shift in Tornado Alley from the Great Plains toward the southeastern United States, increasing tornado frequency in more densely populated and less-prepared regions. It highlights how changing atmospheric conditions—such as increased moisture, instability, and wind shear—are contributing to this shift and emphasizes the need for improved preparedness and infrastructure in newly affected areas.

Human error remains the most frequently exploited vulnerability in the cyber-security ecosystem. Despite substantial investments in technical safeguards, cybercriminals increasingly rely on social engineering, misinformation, and emotionally manipulative tactics to compromise users. This study examines behavioral changes among participants who underwent structured cyber-security workshops addressing both conventional cyber hygiene practices and emerging digital threats. The training modules covered digital arrest scams, identity theft, sextortion, fake technical support fraud, fake social media profiles, online gaming related risks, and deep fake manipulation. The workshops were designed using interactive simulations, real world case studies, and hands on problem based exercises, with the explicit …

Teaching Contracts: My Journey With Spellbook And Ai Pedagogy, Gregory M. Duhl Mar 2026

Teaching Contracts: My Journey With Spellbook And Ai Pedagogy, Gregory M. Duhl

William & Mary Law Review Online

I am integrating Spellbook, an AI tool for contract drafting and review, into my first-year law school Contracts course in spring 2026. Although Spellbook is highly effective, its educational value hinges on the pedagogical framework structured around it, a framework typically not licensed along with AI tools. In-house instructional design expertise can provide this framework, and the professor-instructional designer partnership offers one model for successful AI integration. Strong tools paired with robust instructional design yield learning experiences in which AI augments, rather than supplants, the cultivation of legal judgment and critical thinking. This collaborative approach among educators, instructional designers, and …

The Changing Legal Landscape Of Cookie Banner Claims: Is Arbitration The Answer?, Jared Berklee

Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution (CJCR) Blog

Website cookie banners have become a ubiquitous part of internet browsing and are often overlooked by the average consumer. When cookies malfunction or a website operator fails to obtain proper user-consent, it creates risk for potential privacy-related litigation regarding misrepresentation of data-collection practices. In several recent class action lawsuits filed in California, plaintiff-users claim to have opted out of non-essential cookies, but malfunctioning cookie banners continued to log user information. Often alleging unauthorized interception of their electronic communications under the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA) or intrusion upon seclusion, consumers have brought claims against a variety of entities, including …

Autistic Traits And Mind Wandering: A Correlational Study Of Themes, Intentionality, And Temporal Focus, Leilani Forby, Farid Pazhoohi, Alan Kingstone

School of Psychology

There is abundant research on the nature and content of mind wandering (MW) in neurotypical individuals, yet little research in these areas on individuals high in autistic traits. The current study explored the relationship between autistic traits and several aspects of MW: themes, intentionality, temporal dimensions, and attitudes towards MW. A total of 1,477 participants completed measures of autistic traits, MW, and stress. Autistic trait level was positively correlated with the MW theme of guilt and fear of failure (GFF), spontaneous MW (MW-S), poor attentional control (PAC), and stress, and negatively correlated with appreciation for MW’s benefits. Participants were then …

Underreporting of campus crime remains a persistent challenge in higher education, with many students choosing to disclose incidents to peers rather than formal institutional channels. This qualitative phenomenological study was an exploration of the social and psychological factors influencing college students’ preference for peer-based disclosure over official reporting mechanisms, with particular attention to peer influence, social norms, and institutional trust. Guided by bystander intervention theory and victim precipitation theory, data were collected through an anonymous, open-ended online survey completed by 13 individuals who had attended traditional, in-person colleges or universities within the past 5 years. Thematic analysis was used to …

Tlr3 Mediated Type I Interferon Response In Mammalian Cell Defense Against Cryptosporidium Parvum Infection., Anjelica Matias

Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

Cryptosporidium parvum is a major cause of a diarrheal disease which affects many children in the USA as well as the rest of the world, yet the contribution of its double stranded RNA (dsRNA) viral symbiont, Cryspovirus (CSpV1) to host innate immunity remains unclear. This study investigated whether CSpV1 activates Toll Like Receptor 3 (TLR3) signaling pathways and downstream Interferon type I (IFN I) responses in mammalian intestinal epithelial cells. Confluent Human Ileocecal Colorectal Adenocarcinoma cells (HCT8) were exposed to CSpV1, and the expression levels of Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor-Associated Factor 3 (TRAF3), Nuclear Factor-𝜅-light chain enhancer of activated B-cells …
