Media Kesehatan Masyarakat Indonesia

Neonatal hypothyroidism screening plays a crucial role in preventing irreversible neurological disorders causing developmental delays. Therefore, the policy decisions are needed based on context-appropriate cost-effectiveness analysis studies. Trend of evidence on cost-effectiveness is still dominated by studies from high-income countries. This evidence cannot be directly generalized to developing countries context such as Indonesia, which differ in health systems, financing, and access to services. In response to this issue, this study aims to analyze cost-effectiveness of using a systematic review approach of five studies following PRISMA-SR guidelines. This study systematically mapping threshold simulation analysis by evaluating the results of each study …

Father Of The Bride: Shakespeare's Daughter Issues Played Out, Allison G. Lincicome Mar 2026

Father Of The Bride: Shakespeare's Daughter Issues Played Out, Allison G. Lincicome

Global Tides

Shakespeare, throughout the majority of his plays, fixated on the relationship and expectation of obedience between fathers and daughters. Given the prevalence of his works in children’s media and secondary public education, recognizing the moral messaging of his works can help those who interact with his work better interpret and share this popular media in proper context. This essay analyzes three of Shakespeare’s plays, conduct literature from early modern England, and historical documents referencing Shakespeare’s own relationship to his daughters. These sources in conversation paint a more comprehensive picture of the expected behavior of daughters during Shakespeare’s time, and the …

Quantifying Potential Spatial Accessibility To Adult American Sign Language Classes In Los Angeles County, Caroline R. Baumann

The Geographical Bulletin

This research examines potential spatial accessibility of adult American Sign Language (ASL) learning opportunities in Los Angeles County, California (USA). Over 90% of all deaf children are born to hearing parents, who typically do not know sign language. Research has shown that deaf children whose parents learn sign language tend to have better outcomes than those who do not. Thus, adult accessibility to sign language classes is crucial for the success of deaf children. The Two-Step Floating Catchment Area (2SFCA) method was used to calculate a provider-to-population ratio using network analysis and aggregate these ratios within population catchment areas. The …

Prairie, Nature, Innovation: Midwest Identity Represented In State Quarters, Kady Nolte, Gillian Acheson

The Geographical Bulletin

The US Commemorative Quarter Program, begun in 1999, was wildly popular with millions of people collecting the coins. Fifty new designs were introduced for the quarter’s reverse that intended to represent each state’s unique history and identity. These coins are a piece of material culture that can be studied to understand how they represent place identity, specifically state and regional identity in the US Midwest. In this study, quarters were examined using content analysis to understand how each design represented its state. Coins were studied individually and then wholistically to identify commonalities shared within the Midwest. Three themes were identified …

Systemic Dehumanization In The Dprk: A Human Security Analysis, Aleksandria Pavlenko

Student Research Symposium (SRS)

This paper examines personal security in North Korea, or the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). The case of DPRK shows how individual safety, dignity, and freedom are jeopardized in one of the most oppressive and militarized regimes of the world. Informed by scholarship, this case study shows how the oppressive tools of control, namely the system of ideological dominance, the caste-like songbun hierarchy, and the ubiquitous surveillance system, systematically dehumanize the population of North Korea. For the most part, the DPRK regime of control is an instance of structural violence, which uses psychological and emotional means of manipulation to …

The Dangers Of Social Media In Political Theory, Eden M. Shimanek Mar 2026

The Dangers Of Social Media In Political Theory, Eden M. Shimanek

Global Tides

Increasing political polarization is a prominent feature of the twenty-first-century political landscape, with social media playing a significant role. This essay evaluates social media as a political platform through Hannah Arendt’s notion of the Vita Activa, which describes the political realm and the ideas of totalitarianism. Using this framework, I argue that the surging political use of social media creates digital “echo chambers” that result from the loss of human plurality, which ultimately marks the diverse nature of the political realm. I would continue to argue that these chambers evolve into the notion that Arendt notes as world alienation or …

Protection Vs. Progression: A Macroeconomic Approach To Military Expenditure Direct Effects On Social Outcomes Using Ihdi Measures, Connor Graham Mar 2026

Protection Vs. Progression: A Macroeconomic Approach To Military Expenditure Direct Effects On Social Outcomes Using Ihdi Measures, Connor Graham

Global Tides

This study examines whether military expenditure reduces inequality-adjusted human development and how national governance quality moderates these effects. Using panel data covering 121 countries from 2010-2023, two-way fixed effects models are employed to estimate the relationship between military spending and the Inequality-Adjusted Human Development Index (IHDI). Three key findings emerge from the analysis based on the resulting data. First, a one percentage point increase in military spending reduces IHDI by 0.0012-0.0015 points. Second, the effects prove seven times larger in developed countries than in developing ones, which runs contrary to expectations and prior literature. Lastly, political stability emerged as a …

It's Raining Money: The Need For Name, Image, And Likeness (Nil) Reform From An Intellectual Property Perspective, Andres Eskenazi Bone

Denver Sports & Entertainment Law Journal

Sports are a cornerstone of American entertainment, with football, basketball, and baseball traditionally dominating. However, soccer, hockey, and tennis have also grown significantly, generating high revenue. While professional leagues' financial value is clear, collegiate and amateur leagues have become multi-million-dollar industries. Athletes worldwide have criticized these leagues for profiting from their name, image, and likeness (NIL) without fair compensation, especially compared to the billions earned by organizations like the NCAA.

This paper will first examine the NCAA’s amateurism policies and their impact on intellectual property (IP) rights. It will then explore new technologies—NFTs, blockchains, social media, and video games—that offer …

Decommissioning Identities In A Defined-Trust Domain, Kathleen Nichols

Defensive Publications Series

Defined-trust Domains (DtD) are a type of Limited Domain [RFC8799] where the rules specifying the networking of application information are defined in a communications schema that governs the information exchanged in a particular Limited Domain. Member identities are distributed within the Domain as a chain of trust, public certificates that have each been signed by the signing key associated with the next certificate in the chain and, at the root, signed by the trust anchor of the DtD. This approach is detailed in [DTD,DTLD,DFT,IOTK,TST] and example implementations using a Defined-trust Transport (DeftT) that handles communications and presents a publish/subscribe API …
