Reposisi Literasi Kearsipan Dalam Lanskap Transformasi Digital, Primus Sanbein

Jurnal Ilmu Informasi, Perpustakaan, dan Kearsipan

Digital transformation has fundamentally reshaped the nature of archives, not only in terms of technological media but also in how archives are understood, interpreted, and accounted for. In this context, archival literacy is often narrowly framed as a set of technical skills or individual competencies, a perspective that inadequately captures the complexity of digital archives that are dynamic, distributed, and embedded in contemporary information practices. This article aims to reframe archival literacy as a conceptual lens within the landscape of digital transformation. Adopting a reflective and conceptual approach, the article situates archival literacy within information literacy discourse while examining shifts …

Methods To scientifically reveal the vertical heterogeneity characteristics of extremely thick aquifers, this study investigated the extremely thick Luohe Formation aquifer in a coal seam roof of a representative coal mine in the …

The Toll Of The Bridge: Affective Citizenship And The Negative Dialectic Of The `Promised Land' In Arab American Fiction, Muhammad Khaled Alatrash Apr 2026

The Toll Of The Bridge: Affective Citizenship And The Negative Dialectic Of The `Promised Land' In Arab American Fiction, Muhammad Khaled Alatrash

Journal of Arabic Sciences and Humanities

Scholarship on Arab American literature frequently follows a linear decline from Mahjar-era optimism to the disappointments of post-9/11. This article complicates that trajectory by reading Khalil Gibran's The Broken Wings (1912) and Laila Halaby's Once in a Promised Land (2007) as stages of a negative dialectic—contradiction held in tension without resolution. Gibran envisions America as a sanctuary unreached by the hands of the thieves, where the self might be understood correctly rather than sorted into hostile categories. Halaby reveals how sanctuary becomes a checkpoint: inclusion demands permanent performance of harmlessness, and failure is punished not through formal exclusion but through …

Joint Inversion For Heat Transfer Parameters Of Porous Media With Geothermal-Seepage Coupling Based On A Physics-Informed Neural Network, Zhang Xiao, Yang Duoxing, Cong Lin, Cheng Yimei, Zhang Lianzhong

Coal Geology & Exploration

Background The thermal diffusivity and vertical seepage velocity of porous media are critical to characterizing the mechanisms underlying subsurface heat transfer. These two parameters are typically determined through inversion using temperature data since they are difficult to measure directly. Fiber-optic distributed temperature sensing (FO-DTS) can yield high-resolution, continuous temperature profiles, providing data for parameter identification. However, conventional numerical inversion suffers from limitations such as mesh dependency and sensitivity to initial values when used to process continuous monitoring data. Methods This study proposed a joint geothermal parameter inversion method that integrates FO-DTS data with a physics-informed neural network (PINN). Specifically, the …

System For Real-Time User Compositing Into Media Streams Using Generative Ai Conditioned On Extracted Scene Context, Dev Daftari, Akash Verma

Defensive Publications Series

A system is described for compositing a user's image into media streams protected by digital rights management (DRM). The system may operate via a multi-stage pipeline, which can begin with context extraction on a user device, such as a smartphone or smart television. Computer vision models may analyze a media stream to create a context packet detailing information such as scene lighting, spatial depth, and artistic style. This packet can then be used to condition a generative artificial intelligence (AI) model, which may synthesize the user's likeness into the scene with corresponding visual characteristics. A resulting composite can be rendered …

Automating The State: Public Sector Ai In India And The Challenge Of Rights-Based Regulation, Medha Garg, Shravani Nag Lanka

Indian Journal of Law and Technology

This article examines the deployment of Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) by Indian Central and State Governments across key public sectors, namely, healthcare, law enforcement, justice, welfare delivery, and urban governance. AI applications in these domains promise enhanced efficiency and service delivery but also introduce risks such as algorithmic and automation biases, inaccuracies, and accountability gaps. The absence of a comprehensive regulatory framework in India exacerbates these issues, leaving citizens vulnerable to opaque decision-making processes. We discuss the current fragmented regulatory landscape in India and compare it with AI governance models in the European Union, United States, and China. Building on this …

Doomed To Scroll: Examining The Role Of Motives In Problematic Social Media Use And Associated Psychopathologies, Charlotte Eley Apr 2026

Doomed To Scroll: Examining The Role Of Motives In Problematic Social Media Use And Associated Psychopathologies, Charlotte Eley

Psychology Student Publications

Problematic Social Media (PSMU) is a serious concern in society—as illustrated by recent lawsuits filed against big tech companies.

PSMU is related to anxiety and depression, but the directionality of that relationship remains unclear (Andreassen et al., 2016; Coyne et al., 2020).

Time spent on social media, by itself, is not a strong indicator of negative physical or mental health outcomes (Burénet al., 2023; Coyne et al., 2020), suggesting that certain motivational or dispositional factors may underlie and further explain PSMU.

This study aims to examine how one’s motives behind using social media relate to the experience of fear of …

Aces And Trust In Courts, Michael A. Wesley Jr. Apr 2026

Aces And Trust In Courts, Michael A. Wesley Jr.

Psychology Student Publications

Trust in the American court system is a foundational pillar of the legal system, based on the public's belief that authorities will make fair and just decisions.1 Therefore, understanding what factors degrade the public’s faith in the system is crucial. Most research on this topic examines the amount of trust placed in the police or the government.2, 3, 4However, there are no articles that investigate the relationship between trauma and trust in American courts. This is an issue because, as previously mentioned, individuals who have any number of ACEs are more likely to encounter the criminal justice system, including courts.5Understanding …
