Hispanic Students As Environmental Scientists: Culturally Sustaining Stem Pathways Through Raíces Y Ciencia, Uma Ganesan

This study examines how culturally and linguistically sustaining environmental STEM education (CLSE-STEM) fostered student agency and environmental consciousness among Hispanic/Latinx students in Rio Grande Valley border schools. Through qualitative analysis of the Raíces y Ciencia project's water quality investigations, the research explored how teachers integrated students' cultural and linguistic resources with environmental science learning. Data from conference panel presentations, educator surveys, and classroom artifacts revealed three key themes: linguistic border-crossing as scientific understanding pathways, connecting family knowledge to environmental justice advocacy, and positioning students as community researchers. This dissertation is a collection of work concerning the structure and enumeration of circuits and other distinguished sets in a matroid. The Tutte polynomial, recognized as the universal deletion-contraction invariant in matroid and graph theory, is a natural starting point when considering enumeration problems for matroids. The main result in Chapter 2 generalizes a theorem of Dean Lucas concerning the Tutte polynomial and its behavior under rank-preserving weak maps. This generalization provides an avenue for comparing the numbers of circuits, bases, rank-k flats, and hyperplanes of a matroid containing an element given two distinct, yet related, elements.

Viral infection polarizes monocyte-derived dendritic cells (moDC) to initiate type 1 immunity. The availability of overlapping (homologous) MHC class I and II epitopes, an occurrence frequently and primarily associated with intracellular infection, significantly enhances this process; however, the underlying mechanism(s) are unclear. We demonstrate that moDC loaded with homologous MHC epitopes acquire a cDC1-like phenotype in a process governed by mTORC1. mTORC1 pathway inhibition leads to NF-κB-mediated expression of IL-12 and other type I immune polarizing genes. The work presents the effects of some pertinent parameters on blood flow through bifurcated artery to enhance tumor treatments. Combining appropriately the basic equations, together with the fractionalized Maxwell fluid model allow us to determine the velocity, temperature and concentration of blood flow through bifurcated artery. The study adopted the Atangana-Baleanu fractional time derivative on fluid model to describe the non-Newtonian behavior of blood flow. The numerical simulations were performed using the combined Laplace transform and the method of undetermined coefficients and the results obtained with the aid of Mathcad software were simulated and presented graphically. At-Home Computational And Data Literacy For Pre-K–5 Students: A Review Of The Literature, Marc Sager, Sarah Miller, Zarek Drozda

This systematic review investigates best practices for promoting data literacy development in pre-K–5 learners, with a specific focus on caregiver involvement in at-home learning environments. A comprehensive search and screening process identified 42 studies for inclusion. The studies were analyzed to determine effective strategies for fostering early data literacy. Key findings emphasize (1) early, developmentally appropriate engagement with attention to equity; (2) core learning outcomes in computational and data literacy; (3) learning approaches integrating real-world contexts and hands-on experiences; (4) balanced use of digital tools and unplugged activities; and (5) essential parental and caregiver involvement. A system and method for dynamic allocation of computing resources across local and remote environments based on task complexity and resource availability are described. The approach involves evaluating an input using a probe model to determine a difficulty score and complexity tags. Based on this evaluation, the system isolates the input into individual semantic shards for processing across a heterogeneous network of computational targets. A compute bill of materials is generated to optimize cost and quality, matching specific shards with appropriate models, quantization precision levels, energy limits, and hardware targets. This disclosure presents an integer-based spatial and phase control framework (HVE) designed for embedded systems and actuators. The method replaces conventional floating-point arithmetic and 360-degree metrics with a base resolution of L = 27720. This metric, being the Least Common Multiple (LCM) of integers 1 through 12, guarantees exact integer division for complex mechanical gear ratios and spatial subdivisions.

The framework eliminates progressive floating-point phase drift and provides a computationally lightweight, pure-integer control law suitable for resource-constrained microcontrollers. The mathematical principle is inherently scalable to higher-precision systems (32/64-bit) for cross-disciplinary applications, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) spatial encoding, non-invasive neuromodulation …
