Analytic Continuation Of Toeplitz Operators And Commuting Families Of C*-Algebras, Khalid Bdarneh
Analytic Continuation Of Toeplitz Operators And Commuting Families Of C*-Algebras, Khalid Bdarneh
LSU Doctoral Dissertations
In this thesis we consider the Toeplitz operators on the weighted Bergman spaces and their analytic continuation. We proved the commutativity of the $C^*-$algebras generated by the analytic continuation of Toeplitz operators with special class of symbols that are invariant under suitable subgroups of $SU(n,1)$, and we showed that commutative $C^*-$algebras with symbols invariant under compact subgroups of $SU(n,1)$ are completely characterized in terms of restriction to multiplicity free representations. Moreover, we extended the restriction principal to the analytic continuation case for suitable maximal abelian subgroups of the universal covering group $\widetilde{SU(n,1)}$, and we obtained the generalized Segal-Bargmann transform, where …

The Journal of Social Encounters
The values and priorities of sociology as a discipline have changed dramatically over the past 70 years. Theories of race, class, and gender that had been excluded or marginalized in the positivist twentieth century now make up the classical core of social justice reading lists. Where did these central ideas germinate from? This article identifies and illustrates the influence of three representative theorists: Aime Césaire, C. Wright Mills, and Simone de Beauvoir. These three are commonly read for their incisive critiques of colonialism, capitalism, and patriarchy, respectively. Focusing mainly on a critical appraisal of their principal texts in these respective …

A Review Of Zubair Hasan’S Book (2021) “Some Controversial Topics In Islamic Economics – A Reconciliatory Approach”, Islamic Economics Institute, Kau Press., Abdullahi Abubakar Lamido
Journal of King Abdulaziz University: Islamic Economics
Two issues deserve special attention in the development of Islamic economics and finance. The first is the need to develop a consensus around some fundamental topics that, unfortunately, have gradually lost attention in the current literature of the discipline, a task that requires the attention of both current and emerging generations of Islamic economists. The second is imperative to collect, summarize and articulate these consensus positions in textbooks and readings that can serve as authoritative and ready-for-use references for teaching and research. The book under review is a welcome response to both of these concerns. In ten brief chapters, the …

Efficient Two-Stage Analysis For Complex Trait Association With Arbitrary Depth Sequencing Data, Zheng Xu, Song Yan, Shuai Yuan, Cong Wu, Sixia Chen, Zifang Guo
School of Computing: Faculty Publications
Sequencing-based genetic association analysis is typically performed by first generating genotype calls from sequence data and then performing association tests on the called genotypes. Standard approaches require accurate genotype calling (GC), which can be achieved either with high sequencing depth (typically available in a small number of individuals) or via computationally intensive multi-sample linkage disequilibrium (LD)-aware methods. We propose a computationally efficient two-stage combination approach for association analysis, in which single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are screened in the first stage via a rapid maximum likelihood (ML)-based method on sequence data directly (without first calling genotypes), and then the selected SNPs are …

Journal of the North American Management Society
Case analysis is the foundation of business education at many educational institutions. However, there are significant challenges related to the use of cases with particular types of students, in courses with specific structural elements, and with a lack of guidance provided to students. While working with practicing managers, small business owners, and students, I developed a set of templates to aid in the assessment of a firm’s internal workings (to be used in conjunction with other templates addressing environmental, competitor, industry, and other factors). These internal analysis templates provide a structure that is systematic yet adaptable and has improved the …

Using General Systems Theory As A Business Application Paradigm, Vincent O'Rourke
Using General Systems Theory As A Business Application Paradigm, Vincent O'Rourke
Journal of the North American Management Society
General Systems Theory (GST) is reviewed as a paradigm for modeling business applications. The theory has been used and abused for over sixty years, oftentimes the subject of scholarly articles written by authors who felt the need to write, especially as GST was the current ‘flavor of the day’, but who hadn’t reviewed the basic literature to learn what the GST concept actually entailed. The GST concept is reviewed, from its original documents, and the history is explored. A section is devoted to reviewing some of the literature that has been published in scholarly journals or books over the decades, …
