Machine Learning-Based Hybrid System With Multi-Scale Spatial-Temporal Power Grid Attention For Real-Time Dynamic Ir-Drop Prediction, Google Case Managers Picozzi, Vishant Gotra, Prateek Pendyala
Defensive Publications Series
A machine learning-based hybrid system can utilize multi-scale spatial-temporal power grid attention for real-time dynamic ohmic (IR)-drop prediction. The system employs a two-stage hierarchical architecture combining convolutional neural networks to capture global spatial hotspot contexts and gradient-boosted decision trees to predict instance-specific magnitudes. By shifting from a traditional batch verification process to a real-time predictive approach, the system significantly accelerates design convergence while maintaining high accuracy.

Virtual Power-Aware Spatial Tiling Framework For Automatic Test Pattern Generation, Google Case Managers Picozzi, Mayank Parasrampuria, Vishant Gotra
Defensive Publications Series
The disclosed technology introduces an artificial intelligence-based spatial partitioning framework for integrated circuit testing. By extracting physical and electrical features from design instances, the system constructs optimized virtual tiles to manage power constraints dynamically during structural testing. The methodology utilizes machine learning refinement techniques to maintain load balancing and spatial contiguity, allowing test pattern generation tools to operate with granular, region-specific power awareness that aligns with the underlying power distribution network.
Dementia Detection In Low-Resource Languages: Evaluating Translation-Assisted Transfer Learning For Multilingual Clinical Assessment, Kylar A. Deloach
Dementia Detection In Low-Resource Languages: Evaluating Translation-Assisted Transfer Learning For Multilingual Clinical Assessment, Kylar A. Deloach
Honors Theses
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a growing global health concern, with millions of people affected worldwide and cases expected to rise significantly in the coming decades. Early detection is critical for patient treatment and care, and recent advances in natural language processing (NLP) have shown promise in identifying linguistic markers associated with AD. However, most existing work has focused on English, leaving speakers of other languages with limited access to such tools. This study investigates how effective AD detection models trained on English data are at transferring to Greek, a low-resource language with limited dementia-related speech data available. We propose a …

Physical Properties Of Aqueous Aerosols In The Presence Of Oxalic Acid, Felicia Lutz
Physical Properties Of Aqueous Aerosols In The Presence Of Oxalic Acid, Felicia Lutz
Celebrating Scholarship and Creativity Day (2018-)
Different compounds in atmospheric aerosols absorb water (deliquesce) and release water (effloresce) at different levels of humidity. This can affect the chemistry of atmospheric aerosols as well as the formation of clouds and movement of water vapor in the sky. While there has been previous research on deliquescence of salts, the results of compounds mixed with organics are of more interest as the composition of aerosols are better understood. Organics can impact other physical properties of liquid aerosols like surface tension. In this research, the deliquescence relative humidity, efflorescence relative humidity and surface tension was determined for common salts found …

Getting Your Master's, Is It Worth It?, Vy Le, Madyson Schreifels
Celebrating Scholarship and Creativity Day (2018-)
This project uses a differential equation model to evaluate whether earning a master’s degree is financially worthwhile. Using UC Berkeley’s Master of Computer Science program as a case study, we modeled student loan repayment and compared long-term earnings between bachelor’s and master’s degree holders. The model predicts monthly loan payments and estimates the break-even point where the higher salary from the master’s degree outweighs the total investment cost. Results suggest that the degree becomes financially beneficial after approximately 15 years.
Supercritical Fluid Extractions Of Organic Compounds For Chemistry 202 Laboratory, Avery Polipnick, Autumn Larson
Supercritical Fluid Extractions Of Organic Compounds For Chemistry 202 Laboratory, Avery Polipnick, Autumn Larson
Celebrating Scholarship and Creativity Day (2018-)
Supercritical fluid extractions are a green chemistry technique that is used to isolate nonpolar compounds, without the use of solvents that are harmful to the environment. Compounds reach their supercritical point which is found above their critical temperature and pressure causing them to be in a state between liquid and gas phases. Carbon dioxide in its supercritical fluid form acts as a solvent. This study investigates how a supercritical carbon dioxide extraction can be incorporated into the Chemistry 202 Laboratory curriculum at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University. Initial conditions for this extraction were previously determined. The …

What Makes Leaders In Human Services Effective? A Pilot Study Linking Systems Thinking, Perspective-Taking, And Leadership Success, Ryan Witterschein
What Makes Leaders In Human Services Effective? A Pilot Study Linking Systems Thinking, Perspective-Taking, And Leadership Success, Ryan Witterschein
Journal of Nonprofit Innovation
Leadership effectiveness is a persistent challenge in human services nonprofits, where organizations serving individuals with disabilities and complex needs have grown dramatically but lack validated tools for assessing the cognitive competencies that distinguish effective leaders. This quantitative pilot study introduces the ABA Leadership Assessment Tool version 2.0 (ABLA 2.0), a 48-item instrument integrating transformational and transactional leadership frameworks with three constructs from Relational Frame Theory—perspective-taking, temporal reasoning, and systems thinking. Eight Board Certified Behavior Analysts in organizational leadership roles completed the assessment, yielding 100% completion and strong preliminary reliability across all subscales (α = .71–.94). Leaders who demonstrated stronger cognitive …
General Education Teacher Experiences With Implementing Inclusion In Middle School, Kelly Anne Bodkin
General Education Teacher Experiences With Implementing Inclusion In Middle School, Kelly Anne Bodkin
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
A state in the Pacific Northwest implemented an initiative to increase access to the general education setting for students with disabilities; however, students with disabilities continue to perform significantly below grade level standards despite the increase in inclusion. Guided by Bandura’s social cognitive theory of self-efficacy, the purpose of this basic qualitative study was to examine the perceptions of the challenges, successes, and necessary resources of eight general education teachers who teach students with disabilities in their classrooms. Semistructured interviews were conducted with eight general education teachers teaching students with disabilities in the general education setting. Thematic analysis using deductive …

Controlling Liposome Size And Charge To Promote Lymphatic Drug Delivery, Audrey Parker, Maddy Petruzzi, Makayla Mann, Lauren Sestito
Symposium on Research and Creative Expression (SORCE)
Liposomes are lipid bilayer-structured spherical vesicles often utilized in targeted drug delivery systems due to their biocompatibility and versatility. In order to determine how liposome characteristics like size and charge impact drug transport and absorption within the gastrointestinal and lymphatic systems, these characteristics need to be controlled and analyzed. The goal of this research is thus to develop a panel of liposomes with controllable size and charge for use in future experiments examining the impact of liposome characteristics on lymphatic bioavailability of orally administered drugs. Neutral liposomes were synthesized from a 18:1 phosphatidylcholine (DOPC) and cholesterol and using a thin-film …
