Classification Cooperative Scheduling Of U-Automated Container Terminal Based On Container Markers, Fei Wang, Daofang Chang, Furong Wen
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: To improve the confusing scheduling of U-shaped yard operations due to improper classification of containers, the classification cooperative scheduling process is proposed, in which the classification cooperative scheduling model is established with the constraints of coordinated operation and efficient independent operation. The container classification principle and the container multiple stacking principle are proposed, the stacking point is selected by the weighted calculation based on the container operation mark to design the penalty mechanism, and the classification cooperative heuristic algorithm solution model is designed. Comparative experiments show that the strategy used in the algorithm is superior, which can reduce the equipment …

Optimal Trajectory Of Full-Duplex Uav Relaying Over Hybrid Probability Channels, Tao Wang, Ji Xiaodong
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: A fixed-wing UAV being the full-duplex moving relay, and a hybrid probability channel being the source to send data to the destination, through the flight optimal trajectory design. On the basis of ensuring the total data amount of source-destination communication, the energy consumption of the system is minimized. Two optimization problems of runway shape and mixed trajectory are established, which are non-convex and are difficult to get the closed-form solution. The hybrid probability channels gains are replaced by the average channel gains, and the lower bounds of the received data at the UAV and the destination are calculated by …

Arterial Coordination Optimization Method Based On Vehicle Speed Guidance And Inductive Control, Mingjun Deng, Xinxia Hu, Xiang Li, Liping Xu
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: Arterial signal coordination is usually based on fixed belt speeds and time-of-day statistical flows. Actually, vehicle speeds and traffic flows are fluctuating, which causes to the mismatch between the signal scheme and the actual optimal belt speeds and traffic flow demands, and affects the intersection's traffic efficiency. Based on the vehicle infrastructure cooperation, by applying Maxband model and the maximum green wave bandwidth, the minimum number of arterial vehicle delays, arterial stops and the minor direction delays being the optimization objectives, a multi-objective optimization model for arterial signal coordination is established. Through using an improved multi-objective particle swarm algorithm …

Repair And Surface Functionalization Of Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composites By Cold Spray, Ibnaj Anamika Anni
Theses and Dissertations
Fiber-reinforced polymer composites are widely used in industries and applications such as energy, automotive, defense, and aerospace. This study investigates the application of polymer cold spray, an emerging additive manufacturing process, for coating and repair of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites. The research starts with feasibility studies focused on the cold spray deposition of thermoplastic nylon-6 particles on woven glass fiber-reinforced composites (GFRP). A parametric study determines critical process parameters window, ensuring successful deposition and bonding without compromising the macroscale mechanical behavior. These findings indicate that the cold spray process does not adversely affect the fiber integrity or surface quality of …

Chemotherapy Drug Release From Hollow Core Polyethyleneimine Nanoparticles, Brian Boyle
Theses and Dissertations
Novel anticancer delivery vehicles are arising from engineered nanostructured materials. This work involved the synthesis, characterization, and release of novel hollow core polymeric nanoparticles (HCPNPs) for controlled drug delivery. Polyethyleneimine (PEI) was bound to AuNPs, forming polymer-shell nanoparticles with dissolution of the gold core via iodine forming HCPNPs with drug intercalated DNA bound to the surface. A high density (85 molecules/particle) of DNA intercalated with daunorubicin was conjugated. Particles were spherical with an average diameter of 105.7 ± 17.3 nm and zeta potential of 20.4 ± 3.54 mV. We hypothesize the DNA backbone electrostatically condensed to the primary amines on …

Communication Research On Sign Language Telecommunication And Digital Modes Of Interpretation., Scooter Briody
Honors Theses
Since the invention and proliferation of the telephone in the late nineteenth century, our world has become increasingly dependent on technologically mediated communication. Nowadays we are just as likely to have our next human interaction through our smartphone or computer screen as we are to meet another person face to face. We do not even tend to think of these things as tools for telecommunication anymore, but rather as extensions of our own will. Despite the overwhelming convenience of this technology, it is also fundamentally created with the interests of certain people in mind. If you are able to use …

Cutaneous wounds, both acute and chronic, begin with loss of the integrity, and thus barrier function, of the skin. Surgery and trauma produce acute wounds. There are 22 million surgical procedures per year in the United States alone, based on data from the American College of Surgeons, resulting in a prevalence of 6.67%. Acute traumatic wounds requiring repair total 8 million per year, 2.42% or 24.2 per 1000. The cost of wound care is increasing; it approached USD 100 billion for just Medicare in 2018. This burden for wound care will continue to rise with population aging, the increase in …

Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: In order to design and verify the fire control system(FCS) algorithm of amphibious assault vehicle under heavy wind and wave conditions, a real-time simulation platform is developed. The traditional single rigid body dynamic model can't describe the body-turret-barrel dynamic coupling relationship and it is not suitable for FCS simulation with high dynamic characteristics. Twist-wrench method is used to establish the multiple rigid body dynamic model of vehicle, the buoyancy and the hydrodynamic calculation is carried out according to the body and the moving relationship between visual generated waves, and the hydrodynamic coefficient is obtained by the computational fluid dynamic …

The reconstruction and expansion project of Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport Expressway is selected as the case. Using VISSIM simulation software, a comprehensive traffic simulation model of the entire route is constructed, and UC-winRoad software is employed to create the highly realistic driving simulation scenarios. Driving simulation experiments are conducted to extract the typical driving behavior characteristics in complex scenarios. Calibration functions for simulation parameters are …
3d Organ-Scale Models Of Tumor Growth And Treatment, Rafael Ramon Bravo
3d Organ-Scale Models Of Tumor Growth And Treatment, Rafael Ramon Bravo
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
To understand the dynamics of cancer, mathematical oncologists have developed models of tumor growth and treatment response. Some models are mechanistic and approach tumor growth at the cell-scale, focusing on the evolution of cancerous cells within the ecology of normal tissue, and are often simulated with agent-based modeling. Other models are more clinically motivated and model tumor growth operating at the organ-scale, using patient data to predict treatment response, and are often simulated with partial differential equations. We developed the Hybrid Automata Library which includes both agent-based modeling and partial differential equations for modeling at either of these scales. We …

Molybdenum Disulfide And Carbon Nanotubes Composite Electrode For Electrochemical Conversion Of Salinity Gradient Energy, Jia-Jun Li, Wei-Bin Zhang, Xin-Yu Liu, Jing-Lei Yang, Yi Yin, Ze-Qin Yang, Xue-Jing Ma
Journal of Electrochemistry
The ocean accounts for 97% of the total water resources on earth, covering over 70% of the map's surface area. With the continuous consumption of non-renewable energy sources such as fossil fuels and the rapid development of renewable energy, humans are increasingly paying attention to the utilization of ocean resources. Ocean energy includes tidal energy, wave energy, temperature difference energy, and salinity gradient energy. Salinity gradient energy is the energy generated by the interaction of seawater and fresh water, which is the ocean energy existing in the form of chemical energy. This energy is mostly generated in estuaries. The osmotic …

In Situ Diffuse Reflectance Spectroelectrochemistry Of Cathode Materials In Lithium-Ion Batteries, Lu-Lu Chen, Hao-Ran Li, Wei-Yi Liu, Wei Wang
Journal of Electrochemistry
Developing in situ spectroelectrochemistry methods, which can provide detailed information about species transformation during electrochemical reactions, is very important for studying electrode reaction mechanisms and improving battery performance. Studying real-time changes in the surface of electrode materials during normal operation can be an effective way to assess and optimize the practical performance of electrode materials, thus, in situ and in operando characterization techniques are particularly important. However, batteries are hard to be studied by in situ characterization measurements due to their hermetically sealed shells, and there is still much room for battery characterizations. In this work, a specially designed battery …

We provide a worldline representation of the one-loop effective action for a Dirac particle coupled to external scalar, pseudoscalar, vector and axialvector fields. Extending previous work by two of the authors on the pure vector-axialvector case to all four couplings, it allows one to treat the real and the imaginary parts of the effective action in a unified manner, at the price of having a non-Hermitian Hamiltonian. Unlike existing worldline representations, our new worldline action contains terms with an odd number of Grassmann fields, leading to ordering problems that in the worldline formalism are usually encountered only in curved space. …

The Influence Of Recycled Water On Microbial Source Tracking Techniques That Aim To Identify Untreated Sewage In Surface Waters, Aldo E. Lobos
The Influence Of Recycled Water On Microbial Source Tracking Techniques That Aim To Identify Untreated Sewage In Surface Waters, Aldo E. Lobos
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Fecal pollution in recreational waters can introduce pathogens that cause increased human health risk, where exposure can occur during recreational activities such as swimming, diving, surfing, and fishing. Furthermore, human fecal pollution (i.e., sewage) can introduce nutrients and other harmful chemicals that may negatively affect the environment and aquatic species. Generally, sewage is considered the highest risk to human health compared to animal fecal pollution because it typically contains a high diversity of pathogens (including human specific viruses), antibiotic resistant bacteria and genes associated with antibiotic resistance. However, pathogens are difficult to detect due to their low concentrations in the …
