The Impact Of Entrepreneurial Orientation On Innovation Performance: The Role Of Knowledge Sharing As A Mediating Factor, Dhia Qasim, Ahmed Shuhaiber, Zainab Rawshdeh

All Works

Innovation is critical for enhancing business products and processes, leading to improved overall performance for firms. Knowledge sharing (KS) plays a crucial role in fostering innovation within firms. Literature has addressed entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and innovation performance (IP) in firms; however, extant literature has not considered the influence of EO on IP in emerging economies. Thus, based on the EO theory, this paper develops a theoretical framework to investigate the influence of EO antecedents on IP within the mediating role of KS. Data were collected from three national telecom companies in Jordan, and 215 responses were analyzed using partial least …

A Theory Of Fundamental Strata For Twisted Formal Connections, Sorawit Viwanthananut Jul 2025

A Theory Of Fundamental Strata For Twisted Formal Connections, Sorawit Viwanthananut

LSU Doctoral Dissertations

Let $G$ be a complex reductive group. A fundamental stratum for $G$ is a triple $(x,r,\beta)$ where $x$ is a point in the Bruhat-Tits building of $G$, $r$ is a nonnegative real number called depth of the stratum, and $\beta$ is a semistable functional on the Moy-Prasad filtration of $\fg$ associated to $x$ at level $r$. Fundamental strata were first introduced to classify admissible representations of a $p$-adic reductive group. More recently, Bremer and Sage have shown that fundamental strata play an important role in the geometric Langlands program and developed a theory of fundamental strata for $G$-connections. In this …

Automated Analysis Of Tie And Dowel Rods In Concrete Using 3dgpr, Alexander Paul Betancourt Jul 2025

Automated Analysis Of Tie And Dowel Rods In Concrete Using 3dgpr, Alexander Paul Betancourt

Master's Theses (2009 -)

Dowel bars and tie rods in concrete pavement hold concrete together when they are placed and positioned correctly and according to specifications provided by the federal and state departments of transportation. However, unintentional misalignments and omissions during pavement construction can adversely impact the integrity of pavements, leading to cracks and other types of pavement failure. Analyzing the positions of the dowel bars and tie rods, although crucial, can be tedious and laborious. Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) can be used to detect objects within a material of mostly constant permittivity. When GPR is combined with multiple scans across a road, a three-dimensional …

EuZn2As2 (M = Zn, Cd, In, Sn etc.) is an excellent material system for studying magnetism-tuned topological properties. However, discrepancies exist between experimental data and theoretical calculations regarding the bulk and surface bandgaps. In this work, cleaved EuZn2As2 crystals are studied using scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations. Triangular-shaped defect-induced modifications in the local density of states help distinguish between Eu-terminated and AsZn-terminated surfaces. While large bandgaps ( ~1.5 eV at 77 K) are observed on both pristine surfaces, the bandgap size is found to be highly sensitive to local heterogeneity, tending …

Mesopelagic zone (MZ) carbon budgets comparing supply with demand can be difficult to constrain due to the temporal and spatial offsets between key sources and sinks, their associated uncertainties, and potential sampling biases. To address these challenges, the EXport Processes in the Ocean from RemoTe Sensing (EXPORTS) campaign increased the number and variety of simultaneous measurements to monitor temporal variability in the MZ carbon budget using both a Lagrangian frame of reference and long-term autonomous observations. In this study, we collate a comprehensive combination of new and previously published organic carbon supply and demand measurements collected from the surface (5 …

Framework For Mapping Sublimation Features On Mars’ South Polar Cap Using Object-Based Image Analysis, Racine D. Cleveland, Vincent F. Chevrier, Jason A. Tullis

Geosciences Faculty Publications and Presentations

Mars’ south polar cap hosts dynamic landforms known as Swiss cheese features (SCFs), which form through the sublimation of carbon dioxide (CO2) ice driven by the planet’s extreme seasonal and diurnal solar insolation cycles. These shallow, rounded depressions—first identified by Mars Global Surveyor in 1999 and later monitored by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO)—have been observed to increase in size over time. However, large-scale analysis of SCF formation and growth has been limited by the slow and labor-intensive nature of manual mapping techniques. This study applies object-based image analysis (OBIA) to automate the detection and measurement of SCFs using High-Resolution …

A data set of 23,351 globular clusters (GCs) and ultracompact dwarfs (UCDs) in the Coma cluster of galaxies was built using Hubble Space Telescope Advanced Camera for Surveys data. Based on the standard magnitude cut of MV ≤ −11, a total of 523 UCD candidates are found within this data set of compact stellar systems (CSS). From a color–magnitude diagram analysis built using this catalog, we find a clear mass–magnitude relation extending marginally into the UCD parameter space. The luminosity function defined by this data set shows an excess of sources at bright magnitudes, suggesting a bimodal formation scenario …

Gamma-ray binaries are luminous in gamma rays, composed of a compact object orbiting a massive companion star. The interaction between these two objects can drive relativistic outflows, either jets or winds, in which particles can be accelerated to energies reaching hundreds of teraelectronvolts (TeV). However, it is still debated where and under which physical conditions particles are accelerated in these objects and ultimately whether protons can be accelerated up to PeV energies. Among the well-known gamma-ray binaries, LS 5039 is a high-mass X-ray binary with an orbital period of 3.9 days that has been observed up to TeV energies by …

Navigating Multiple Virtual Teams: How Variety In Communication Rules Affects Knowledge Sharing, Valerio Incerti, Kelly J. Fadel, Elisa Mattarelli, Fabiola Bertolotti, Francesca Bellesia, Paula Ungureanu, Katherine M. Chudoba

Faculty Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity

In contemporary workplaces, individuals are often members of more than one virtual team at a time, that is, they experience multiple virtual team membership (MVTM), and they are subjected to context variety due to different rules across their teams. The aim of this paper is to understand the relationship between context variety related to communication rules and knowledge sharing in situations of MVTM. We propose that context variety and switching between teams negatively affect the individual capability to acquire and provide knowledge resources in a team, due in part to an increased perception of role overload. Through an experimental study, …

Values And Barriers: A Multidimensional View Of College Students’ Motivations To Volunteer, Gavin Warner, Quang Anh Nguyen, Ansuk Jeong

DePaul Discoveries

University students tend to have ample access to many resources for volunteering and so are in a unique position among Americans. With all the benefits of volunteering outlined in past research, the students training to become leaders in their fields may have the most to gain from volunteerism. It is surprising, then, to note that young people are less likely to volunteer than other age groups. Why is it that college students tend to volunteer at such low rates? The current study seeks to answer this question through a mixed-methods survey. A qualitative section clarified which specific barriers students felt …

Using Synchrotron Wide-Angle X-Ray Scattering To Study Collagen Degradation In Second Metacarpal Bones, Zeel Sheth, Misha Romanov, Ruby Schwieger

DePaul Discoveries

The study examines female human second metacarpal (mc2) bones from early medieval cemetery at Greding, Germany, using high-energy Wide-Angle X-ray Scattering (WAXS) at beamline 1-ID of the Advanced Photon Source (APS) at Argonne National Laboratory. Rietveld refinement showed that carbonated apatite lattice parameters did not correlate with estimated age-at-death. For six of the mc2, widths of 00.2 and 00.4 diffraction peaks were substantially narrower than those of a modern (non-diagenetically altered) mc2 and of the other four ancient mc2. The peak width results are interpreted as indicating that four of the ten ancient mc2 retain substantial collagen and six of …

Conical Radon Transform For Medical Imaging, Olivia Medina

DePaul Discoveries

The 2D Conical Radon transform is an alternate approach to medical imaging that is more efficient than the conventional method used in the PET Scan. Here, a 2D Conical Radon transform is used to reconstruct a function or image from a line integral on a 2-dimensional cone with a fixed angle and axis of symmetry at each data point. Implemented in MATLAB, this method uses a single Reimann Sum to produce images in a faster and less computationally expensive way. The V-Line transform is an alternative understanding of the 2D Conical Radon transform in which it is theoretically proven that …

Exact Sampling Of The Six-Vertex Model Using Coupling From The Past, Malaeka Amir

DePaul Discoveries

This paper aims to explore the six-vertex model through simulations designed to investigate the behavior of configurations under specific domain wall boundary conditions. To generate random configurations, we employ the Markov Chain Monte Carlo method while addressing the challenge of mixing times by utilizing the Coupling from the Past (CFTP) algorithm. Implemented in Python, our approach leverages CFTP to ensure exact sampling, avoiding the uncertainty of convergence in traditional Monte Carlo methods. We explore the monotonicity property within this framework and prove that it is only maintained by the steps of this algorithm for very particular values of the parameters.
