Steiner And Jung On Esoteric Knowledge, Katherine T. Ziemke Mst, Jd, Phd Candidate

Journal of Conscious Evolution

For centuries, humanity has been accumulating complex knowledge, systematically building increasingly intricate mathematical and scientific models by accruing predictable circumstances or facts, often designated as theories or laws. This essay proposes that there is a hidden well-spring of ideas or knowledge beyond the methodical accumulation of such mathematical and scientific knowledge, from whence the source that inspired the basis of this knowledge might have originated. Carl Gustav Jung and Rudolf Steiner believe there is an abundance of such knowledge that lies hidden in plain sight and available for a vast expansion of human awareness. In this essay, I take a …

Water system centralization and decentralization have variously been promoted as key to achieving household water security and Sustainable Development Goal 6.1. We argue that the lack of specificity with which scholars and practitioners use the terms centralization and decentralization limits our understanding of different water system configurations and their impacts. In this Primer, we provide a framework for thinking about levels of (de)centralization across three linked system dimensions: infrastructure, governance, and operations and maintenance. We encourage those analyzing water systems to characterize (de)centralization with respect to these multiple dimensions, as well as the system's broader political-economic and hydro-climatic contexts. Background

Languages vary in their syntactic (e.g. word order in sentences), lexical (e.g. presence of specific word classes), and morphological (e.g. inflectional or derivational forms of words) properties. This cross-linguistic variation in language typology influences the manifestation of agrammatic symptoms. However, most theoretical models of agrammatism are based on English and a few European languages, limiting their generalizability. This narrow focus neglects the rich syntactic, lexical and morphological variations available in languages globally. Clinically, the lack of language-specific characteristics of agrammatic impairments limits translational potential for precise and improved diagnosis. The Aphasia in South Asian Languages (ASAL) project addresses this …

Accurately predicting Greenland's ice mass loss is crucial for understanding future sea level rise. Approximately 50% of the mass loss results from iceberg calving at the ice-ocean interface. Ice mélange, a jammed, buoyant granular material that extends for 10 km or more in Greenland's largest fjords, can inhibit iceberg calving and discharge by transmitting shear stresses from fjord walls to glacier termini. Direct measurements of these resistive force dynamics are not possible in the field, thus, we created a scaled-down laboratory experiment to study jammed-packed ice mélange mechanics. We recorded videos of the mélange surface motion and subsurface profile during …

Quantization For The Mixtures Of Uniform Distributions On Connected And Disconnected Line Segments, Asha Barua, Gustavo Fernandez, Ashley Gomez, Olga Lopez, Mrinal Kanti Roychowdhury

School of Mathematical & Statistical Sciences Faculty Publications

In this paper, we have studied various mixed distributions generated by two uniform distributions: first, where the supports are two connected line segments, and second, where the supports are two disconnected line segments. For these mixed distributions, we have determined the optimal sets of n-means and the corresponding nth quantization errors for all positive integers n. The methods developed in this paper can be applied more generally to investigate optimal quantization for any mixed distribution P:=pP1+(1−p)P2, where P1 and P2 are arbitrary probability distributions supported on either connected or disconnected line segments, and (p,1−p) is any probability …

Register Blocking: A Source-To-Source Analytical Modelling Approach For Affine Loop Kernels, Theologos Anthimopoulos, Georgios Keramidas, Vasilios Kelefouras, Iakovos Stamoulis

School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics

Register Blocking (RB), also known as ‘Register-level Tiling’ or ‘unroll-and-jam,’ is a key compiler optimizationfor developing efficient micro-kernels. However, applying RB effectively is a complex task due to severalchallenges. First, the exploration space of possible RB configurations is vast. Second, RB and loop permutationare interdependent; therefore, addressing both optimizations simultaneously further inflates the explorationspace. Third, the effectiveness of RB is highly dependent on the target hardware platform and the specific loopkernel being optimized. As a result, an extensive and time-consuming fine-tuning process is necessary forachieving an efficient implementation. To address these challenges, a source-to-source analytical modelling approach is proposed. The RB …

One of the simplest classes of finite groups used as a source of counterexamples in a first course of modern algebra is the class of finite dihedral groups. Among the subgroups of dihedral group, finding subgroups of index 2 is of interest in part because these subgroups are normal subgroups. In this article, we use the representations of the symmetries of the dihedral groups as permutations of the vertices and determine concretely all its subgroups of index 2. Under this representation or embedding, the article determines the intersection of the dihedral group with the corresponding alternating groups when they are …

Incremental Increases Between Successive Integers When Raised To The Nth Power, Sutton J. Olesen

Rose-Hulman Undergraduate Mathematics Journal

For thousands of years, the beautiful field of number theory has captivated mathematicians with its elegant simplicity. Positive integers continue to reveal properties and relationships that are a joy to uncover, and in this paper, we investigate a pattern involving exponents and factorials while exploring some common notations in the field of number theory. Combinatorics, the field dealing with the mathematics of counting and arranging, also holds a presence in this paper. Pascal’s Triangle–the foundation of binomial expressions, also comes into play due to its tight relationship with combinatorics. Pascal’s Identity, the property that builds the triangle, becomes very useful …
