Automatic Objects Detection And Tracking Using Fpcp, Blob Analysis And Kalman Filter, Hadeel N. Abdullah, Nuha H. Abdulghafoor
Engineering and Technology Journal
Object detection and tracking are key mission in computer visibility applications, including civil or military surveillance systems. However, there are major challenges that have an effective role in the accuracy of detection and tracking such as the ability of the system to track the target and the response speed of the system in different environments as well as the presence of noise in the captured video sequence. In this proposed work, a new algorithm to detect moving objects from video data is designed by the Fast Principle Component Purist (FPCP). Then, we used an ideal filter that performs well to …

The efficiency of a WPT system greatly depends on both the geometry and operating frequency of the transmitting and receiving structures. Genetic optimizations algorithms are presented to prepare the proposed design parameters using MATLAB to optimize the link efficiency. Single and double layer PSCs are optimally designed with minimal proximity losses effect. In this paper, we used the benefit of a double layer technique to miniaturize the receiver PCS size. The proposed single layer (10×10) mm2 and double layer (8×8) mm2 PSCs are validated and simulated using HFSS 15.03 software at a frequency of 13.56MHz in both cases of the …

Computational Analysis Of Punching Shear Models Of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete Slabs, Mereen H. Fahmi Rasheed, Ayad Z. Saber Agha
Engineering and Technology Journal
A computational analysis is presented to predict the ultimate and cracking shear strength of steel fiber reinforced concrete slabs. Different models are suggested considering the effect of concrete compressive and tensile strength, amount of flexural reinforcements, yield strength of the reinforcement bars and steel fiber properties (volume percent, aspect ratio, and type of steel fibers). The predicted results are compared with the experimental data found in literature and found good agreement.
Enhancing Quad Tree For Spatial Index Using Space Filling Curves, Ali Hussain, Rehab Hassan
Enhancing Quad Tree For Spatial Index Using Space Filling Curves, Ali Hussain, Rehab Hassan
Engineering and Technology Journal
Spatial indexes, such as those based on the Quad Tree, are important in spatial databases for the effective implementation of queries with spatial constraints, especially when queries involve spatial links. The quaternary trees are a very interesting subject, given the fact that they give the ability to solve problems in a way that focuses only on the important areas with the highest density of information. Nevertheless, it is not without the disadvantages because the search process in the quad tree suffers from the problem of repetition when reaching the terminal node and return to the behavior of another way in …

Engineering and Technology Journal
Recently the Discrete-Wavelet-Transform (DWT) has been represented as signal processing powerful tool to separate the signal into its band frequency components. In this paper, improvement of the steganography techniques by hiding the required message into the suitable frequency band is presented. The results show that the increase of the message length will reduce the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), while the PSNR increases with the increasing the DWT levels. It should be noted that the PSNR reduction was from -13.8278 to -17.77208 when increasing the message length from 161 to 505 characters. In this context, the PSNR is increased …

Numerical Study Of Effect Of Using Nanofluids Flowing In Simply Supported Pipes On Vibrations Characteristics, Kadhum A. Jehhef, Mohamed A. Siba, Hayder S. Abdulamir
Engineering and Technology Journal
In general, internal vibrations within the pipelines caused by fluids being passing through a pipeline system can cause. These pipeline system can damage by the sudden amplified vibrations that weren’t considered at the design of the system, and flow induced vibrations resonate with the pipes natural frequency. Therefore, it is important to predict and identify the pipeline system vibrations during its lifetime. In this study by using MATLAB code as a CFD solver, it studied the forced and free vibrations caused by fluid flows at Reynolds number ranged as 0 < Re < 2500 for laminar flow and ranged as 104 < Re < 105 for turbulent flow. The working fluid has chosen as of (Al2O3, TiO2, SiO2 and water) with different nanoparticle volume fraction of (0 to 2% vol.). These fluids flow in simply supported pipe with different lengths and diameters. The results presented the effect of pipe and fluid parameter upon the fluid critical velocity and fundamental natural frequencies. The results showed that the pipe natural frequency increased with increasing with decreasing the pipe length and diameter. In addition, it showed that the pipe natural frequency decreased when using the different nanoparticle depressed in the water and with increasing the volume fraction.

An Overview On Most Effective Dras In Crude Oil Pipelines, Raheeq Ibrahim, Manal Odah, Dhoha Shafeeq
Engineering and Technology Journal
The flow of crude oil in pipelines suffers from a problem of fluid flow pressure drop and high-energy consumption for pumping especially in low temperatures environment. Flow can be enhanced using viscosity either reduction or drag reduction techniques. Drag reduction is considered as the most effective and most applicable method. The technique contributes in reducing the frictional energy losses during the flow by addition of little doses of materials knowing as drag-reducing agents. The present work focuses on more recent and most applicable drag-reducing agents used in crude oil flow enhancement via pipelines.
