Internet Of Things (Iot) Adoption By Organisation: A Systematic Review, Yusliza Jamalut, Mohd Fairuz Abd Rahim, Jeen Wei Ong
International Journal of Management, Finance and Accounting
Despite the transformative potential of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0, adoption of IoT technologies remains slow and limited in organisations. This study addresses this challenge by conducting a systematic review to identify key factors influencing IoT adoption from the organisation level and social science perspective. Using the PRISMA protocol, a total of 16 empirical articles published between 2016 and 2024 were selected from Scopus and Web of Science databases. A deductive thematic analysis guided by the Technology-Organisation-Environment (TOE) framework revealed that relative advantage, organisational readiness, and competitive pressure were the most frequently cited determinants of adoption. Meanwhile, …

Comics, as a medium for conveying ideas and concepts through imagery, integrate textual and visual elements to construct meaning and communicate messages effectively. Their distinctive visual communication enables the delivery of complex social issues in an accessible manner through characters, panels, layouts, and visual representations of sound and dialogue. This study analyzes the Tahilalats comic (2024 edition), which incorporates the hashtag #bersamastopjudol as part of a visual campaign against online gambling addiction. The narrative is presented entirely through images without verbal language. The research applies Primadi Tabrani’s Wimba theory to decode visual language and Roland Barthes’ semiotics to interpret symbolic …

The Merdeka Curriculum, introduced as a new educational initiative in Indonesia, faces several challenges identified in recent studies. This study employed a literature analysis method to evaluate data from relevant articles published between 2021 and 2023. The findings highlight several major issues in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. First, inadequate educational infrastructure, including a shortage of suitable classrooms and limited access to technology, remains a significant challenge. Second, strengthening teachers’ capacity to integrate technology into instruction is crucial because the Merdeka Curriculum relies heavily on technology-based approaches. Effective learning assessment is also a key concern and requires a holistic, process-oriented approach. …

Predictors Of Perceived Hiv Stigma Among People Who Inject Drugs In The United States, Salma Khuwaja
Faculty, Staff and Student Publications
Background: HIV stigma is a huge impediment to ending the HIV epidemic. To develop effective HIV interventions, we must determine factors associated with HIV stigma, particularly among high-risk groups like people who inject drugs (PWID). We aimed to identify predictors of perceived HIV stigma (PHS) among a sample of PWID from 23 U.S. cities.
Methods: We analyzed the 2018 National HIV Behavioral Surveillance data on PWID aged ≥ 18 years. PHS was assessed using a validated survey that measured four PHS constructs: perceived unfriendliness, perceived discrimination, perceived punishment, and perceived support. We created a composite PHS index score by summing …

Implementing Vertical Gardens In Educational Buildings To Reduce Energy Consumption And Achieve Low Carbon Emissions, Khloud Khalid Eldamshiry, Mohamed Esmat Elattar, Ahmed Abubakr
Architectural Engineering
Nowadays, the change of climate has been a crucial problem for architects to address since buildings consume more than half of the energy that results in carbon dioxide emissions that contribute to climate change. Vertical gardens have been proven in studies to be capable of significantly offsetting carbon dioxide emissions from building. in addition to passively cooling and insulating the structure As a result, the energy required for building operation is lowered in what appears to be a butterfly effect. The bulk of non-residential buildings in Egypt have been built without regard for energy efficiency regulations in recent years. As …

Throughout history, travel narratives have taken up various forms and served various purposes. The changes of forms and functions were influenced by the spirit of the age. Today, in the contemporary digital era, social media platforms like Instagram have transformed travel narratives into stories combining images and texts that significantly impact public attitude on travel and tourism. On certain occasions, Instagram travel narratives contribute to the dangerous trend of mass tourism, although there are moments when the same travel writing form advocates sustainability. This study investigates the extent to which travel narratives by prominent Indonesian travel influencers on Instagram advocate …

Comparison Of Javanese Lexicon In Banyumas And Banyuwangi Dialect Bilingual Dictionaries, Muhamad Rizki Darmawan, Satwiko Budiono
Bahasa dan Seni: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastra, Seni, dan Pengajarannya
The Banyumas and Banyuwangi dialects of Javanese exhibit notable lexical similarities, particularly in their retention of Old Javanese vocabulary, consonant endings, the specificity of vowel phonemes, and syllabic structures. These linguistic commonalities necessitate further research at other linguistic levels to substantiate the similarities between these two geographically distant dialects. This comparison also serves as a basis for reinforcing the hypothesis of a historical migration of Javanese speakers from Banyumas to Banyuwangi. Furthermore, this study confirms that the varieties of Javanese spoken in Banyumas and Banyuwangi constitute distinct dialects. This study employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating both quantitative and qualitative methodologies …

In current educational practice, students often experience boredom in both general subjects and Guidance and Counseling activities. Further examination suggests that this boredom is caused by monotonous teaching routines repeated from year to year, in which students remain seated and listen to teachers explain the material. This pattern contributes to learning fatigue across different subjects, learning conditions, and teachers, including school Guidance and Counseling services. Such services consist of four components that must be implemented. This study aimed to determine students’ level of interest in science during the second semester at SMP Negeri 5 Malang in the 2023/2024 academic year. A mixed quantitative and qualitative approach was used, with questionnaires and checklists as data collection instruments. Before implementation of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model, only four students (12.9%) demonstrated interest in science, while 24 students (77.4%) showed low interest and three students (9.6%) showed no interest. After Jigsaw was implemented, students’ interest increased significantly, as indicated by a t-test significance value below 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). The findings indicate that Jigsaw is effective in increasing students’ interest in science. It may therefore serve as an alternative for addressing low learning interest while improving the quality of classroom instruction. The Jigsaw model can create a more interactive and collaborative classroom atmosphere, positively influence student engagement, and strengthen both learning outcomes and overall educational quality.
