Helicobacter Pylori Infection In Oral Health: Virulence Mechanisms And Host Immune Modulation, Thariat Abdualrahman Al-Joubori

Muthanna Medical Journal

Helicobacter pylori is a Gram-negative microaerophilic bacterium that infects nearly half of the world's population and is well known for its role in chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, and gastric cancer. In recent years, increasing attention has been directed toward the oral cavity as a possible extra-gastric reservoir for H. pylori. The organism has been detected in dental plaque, saliva, periodontal pockets, and oral mucosal surfaces, suggesting a potential involvement in oral diseases and recurrent gastric infection. The ability of H. pylori to survive within the oral environment is largely attributed to a variety of virulence factors, including urease, …

Computation Of Minimum Numbers Of Tile And Bond-Edge Types For Dna Self-Assembly Of Select Archimedean Graphs, Tabitha Merrithew, Jessica Sorrells

Theory & Applications of Graphs

This project mathematically models the self-assembly of DNA nanostructures in the shape of select Archimedean graphs using the flexible tile model. Under the most strict set of conditions of this model, we employ principles of linear algebra and graph theory to determine the minimum number of different DNA branched molecules needed to construct the desired shapes, theoretically reducing laboratory costs and the waste of biomaterials. We determine exact values for $T_3(G)$, the minimum number of molecule (or ``tile") types needed for all six order 12 and 24 Archimedean graphs. We also determine exact values for $B_3(G)$, the minimum number of …

Marching To The Beat: The Role Of Complementor Alignment In The Architectural Evolution Of Ecosystems, Pengxiang Zhang, Liang Chen, Yang Yang, Sali Li

Research Collection Lee Kong Chian School Of Business

The evolution of innovation ecosystems hinges on the effective coordination between ecosystem leaders and complementors. While ecosystem-sponsored architectural innovations create new technological opportunities for complementors, they may unintentionally disrupt the performance of complementor products that were originally developed based on legacy architectural designs. This study provides empirical evidence of these disruptive effects and explores how complementors’ alignment with the ecosystem leader mitigates such challenges. Focusing on Apple’s release of Core ML—a proprietary artificial intelligence module—in its mobile ecosystem, we employ a difference-in-differences design to investigate variations in complementor performance after adopting this ecosystem-sponsored architectural innovation. Our findings reveal that complementors’ …

Emergency Reinfusion Of Vaginally Salvaged Red Cells After Vacuum-Assisted Vaginal Delivery In A Jehovah's Witness: A Case Report, William Hughes Nov 2026

Emergency Reinfusion Of Vaginally Salvaged Red Cells After Vacuum-Assisted Vaginal Delivery In A Jehovah's Witness: A Case Report, William Hughes

Peninsula Medical School

Perinatal blood management is critical for all obstetric patients as peripartum haemorrhage is common, unpredictable, and consequences can be severe. Patients who do not consent to allogeneic transfusion of blood products introduce additional complexity and are at greater risk of morbidity and mortality. There is growing evidence that reinfusion of autologous blood salvaged from vaginal deliveries is safe and can be lifesaving. Delivering this potentially lifesaving care requires that staff well trained in intraoperative cell salvage are always resident on the delivery suite, and that the delivery suite multidisciplinary team is familiar with the procedure. Here we present a case …

Research outputs 2022 to 2026

Animation production workflows centered around motion capture techniques require animators to edit motions based on a set of keyframes. However, most existing keyframe selection methods are optimization-based, which suffer from the issues of flexibility and efficiency. In this paper, a novel deep reinforcement learning method with dual agents are proposed for unsupervised keyframe selection. First, an S-Agent and an R-Agent evaluate the actions of selection and refinement, respectively. A deep spatio-temporal network, namely graph keyframe evaluation network (GKEN), is proposed for the agents. Then, an animation specified reward is devised based on reconstruction, which fulfills three important properties of the …

Listening As Method: She Speaks And The Case For Podcasting As A Feminist Research Methodology In Women's Non-Medicalised Self-Care, Narelle Lemon

Research outputs 2022 to 2026

Women's non-medicalised self-care — the everyday, relational practices through which women tend to themselves — remains largely illegible to conventional health research methods. This article argues that podcasting constitutes a feminist research methodology rather than a supplementary dissemination tool and makes the case for its adoption in qualitative health research on women's wellbeing. The argument develops through an extended case study of She Speaks , an Australian podcast series produced by the author across four seasons and sixty-two episodes. Situated within arts-based research and feminist methodological traditions, the study treats the podcast itself as the research vehicle: a site where …
