Numerical Simulation Of Co2 Sequestration Combined With Enhanced Geothermal Energy Extraction In Deep Saline Aquifers, Xie Zehao, Zhang Liehui, Zhao Yulong, Cao Cheng, Kou Zuhao, Zhang Deping, Li Jinlong
Coal Geology & Exploration
Objectives and Methods Deep saline aquifers represent ideal spaces for geologic CO2 sequestration while also featuring high geothermal gradients and abundant geothermal resources. The combination of CO2 sequestration and geothermal energy extraction holds great significance for enhancing the CO2 sequestration effect and achieving integrated resource development of deep saline aquifers. Therefore, this study proposed a development approach that combined CO2 sequestration with geothermal energy extraction in deep saline aquifers and established a thermo-hydro-chemical coupling numerical simulation model of the gas-water two-phase flow. Accordingly, it explored the optimal injection mode, production and injection well patterns, and injection …

Numerical Simulations Of The Impacts Of Co2-Induced Calcite Dissolution On The Permeability And Elastic Parameters Of Rocks, Yang Bo, Xu Tianfu, Feng Guanhong, Zhu Huixing
Coal Geology & Exploration
Objective CO2 dissolution in water tends to induce mineral reactions, thus significantly changing the pore structure of rocks and further affecting their seepage and mechanical properties. This phenomenon poses a major impact on the suitability and long-term safety of geologic CO2 sequestration engineering. Methods Using a simulation technology that combines the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) and the finite element method (FEM), this study systematically investigated the calcite dissolution characteristics of calcite-bearing rock samples under varying injection rates of a saturated solution of CO2. Furthermore, the dynamic evolution patterns of the permeability and elastic parameters (bulk and …

Objective and Methods Driven by the goal of carbon neutrality, geologic CO2 storage has become a critical national priority in China. Compared to conventional reservoirs in sedimentary basins, such as saline aquifers, depleted hydrocarbon reservoirs, and unmineable coal seams, basaltic formations offer more significant advantages in geologic CO2 storage. Specifically, basaltic formations can form stable carbonates through reactions between CO2 and rock minerals while also exhibiting extensive distribution, considerable potential for CO2 storage, and low risk of CO2 leakage. The engineering feasibility of geologic CO2 storage in basaltic formations has been validated by the …

Human activities, either intentional or unintentional, have significantly influenced the global distribution and genetic composition of many species. The black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens; BSF) is a species native to North America that has rapidly gained commercial importance due to its bioconversion efficiency, upcycling organic waste into higher-value products. Through human-mediated dispersal associated with trade and insect farming, BSF has been introduced widely across the Old World, including Africa, where both wild and captive populations are now established. Despite its expanding global distribution, the demographic history and genomic consequences of these introductions remain poorly understood, particularly in Africa. This work …

Insomnia, The Witch, And The Dark Passenger As Shadow Projections In Joharah Al-Remal's Al-Awsaj, Dr. Afaf Al-Enezi
Journal of Arabic Sciences and Humanities
This study investigates how psychic repression and identity fragmentation are represented in Joharah Alremal’s Al-Awsaj (2023), asking how inherited trauma and the symbolic Dark Passenger shape the protagonist’s fractured selfhood. It aims to clarify the mechanisms through which insomnia, shadow projection, and the witch’s prophecies externalize unresolved familial wounds. Methodologically, the paper employs a psychoanalytic close reading informed by Jungian theory, situating the novel in comparative dialogue with Jeff Lindsay’s Darkly Dreaming Dexter (2004). The comparison examines both the universality of repressed destructive impulses and cultural trauma specific forms through which trauma manifests. The study finds that negotiations with the …

Derivation From Underived Nouns Between Theory And Practice A Morphological And Semantic Study, Dr. Ibrahim Abdullah Ahmed Al-Zein
Derivation From Underived Nouns Between Theory And Practice A Morphological And Semantic Study, Dr. Ibrahim Abdullah Ahmed Al-Zein
Journal of Arabic Sciences and Humanities
Derivation is deemed one of the most significant sources for enriching and expanding the vocabulary of Arabic language. Arabs derive words not only from verbal roots but also from underived nouns—such as nouns of meaning, time, entities, and sounds. This study aims to present the opinions of linguists regarding derivation from underived nouns, in addition to examining the practical reality of this phenomenon through evidence from Arabic dictionaries and linguistic works, which confirm or prohibit permissibility thereof. The researcher adopts the descriptive method,. The study concludes that derivation from underived nouns is based on unwriten precedents, and due to the …
The Image Of The Father In The Autobiography Of Saleh Al-Ghufaili A Psychological Narrative Study, Mohammed Bin Khalifa Bin Battah Al-Khazzi
The Image Of The Father In The Autobiography Of Saleh Al-Ghufaili A Psychological Narrative Study, Mohammed Bin Khalifa Bin Battah Al-Khazzi
Journal of Arabic Sciences and Humanities
This study examines the image of the father in Saleh Al-Ghufeili’s autobiography “My Life Journey” through a psycho-narrative lens. It employs tools from modern psychological theory—particularly Freud’s view that literary texts are largely emotional products shaped by unconscious stimuli—alongside narrative techniques to trace and interpret the father’s representation and its explicit and implicit meanings. The father’s image emerges as complex and psychologically charged. The narrator appears torn between an unconscious urge to settle unresolved conflicts with his father and a conscious attempt to construct an idealized paternal figure. However, this idealized image collapses when confronted with the contradictory, textually revealed …

Journal of Arabic Sciences and Humanities
This study explores two key stylistic features in Al-Marrār ibn Munqidh al-ʿAdawī’s’ poem: poetic imagery and intertextuality, as they form the main structural and aesthetic basis of the poem. It highlights their psychological and artistic connotations through a descriptive-analytical and stylistic approach that examines the poem’s expressive and aesthetic aspects. The study includes an introduction outlining the problem, aims, method, and previous studies, followed by two sections: the first section analyzes the artistic image, its forms and meanings; the second section discusses intertextuality with earlier Arabic poetry and its influence on meaning. The conclusion shows that Al-Marrār used simile to …
The Memory Of Place In Saudi Short Stories And Sketch Drawing, Dr. Ibrahim Bin Sarawi Ahmed Asiri
The Memory Of Place In Saudi Short Stories And Sketch Drawing, Dr. Ibrahim Bin Sarawi Ahmed Asiri
Journal of Arabic Sciences and Humanities
This study examines the “Memory of Place” as a manifestation of creative memory in the Saudi short story and visual arts through a semiotic approach integrating Lotman’s concepts and Peirce’s triadic model. It explores how place transcends geographical boundaries to become an “active semantic structure” and cultural sign that reproduces collective identity. The analysis reveals a shared rural “Semiosphere” between narrative and image, where meanings intersect to form a unified creative memory that reinterprets heritage amidst modern urbanization. The study concludes that the synergy between linguistic and visual media preserves spatial memory and reinforces the cultural presence of the Saudi …
