Journal of ICSAR
This study analyzes the influence of transformational leadership, achievement motivation, and organizational culture on teachers’ learning innovation in public senior high schools in Jepara Regency. Using a quantitative survey involving 215 teachers, multiple regression analysis was employed to examine both partial and simultaneous effects. The results show that transformational leadership (β = 0.421; p < 0.001), achievement motivation (β = 0.367; p < 0.001), and organizational culture (β = 0.298; p < 0.001) significantly affect teachers’ learning innovation. Collectively, the three variables explain a substantial proportion of variance in learning innovation (R² = 0.612). In this study, learning innovation is defined to include inclusive teaching practices, the use of accessible digital tools, differentiated instruction, and adaptive strategies that support students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities. The findings therefore highlight that pedagogical innovation does not only involve creativity and technology integration but also the development of equitable and disability-responsive learning environments. Inclusive education remains a persistent challenge in remote and underserved areas, where structural limitations, sociocultural complexities, and limited professional capacity intersect. This study explores the barriers and enabling factors shaping inclusive education practices in Papua, Indonesia, a region characterized by high geographic isolation and rich cultural diversity. Using a descriptive qualitative design, data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis involving early childhood and primary schools in Jayapura. Findings reveal four major constraints: limited teacher competence in identifying and supporting learners with disabilities, absence of systematic assessment procedures, insufficient infrastructure and learning resources, and weak cross-sector collaboration. Nevertheless, …

Cross-Cultural Perspectives On The Development Of Critical Thinking In Deaf Students: A Comparative Study Between Indonesia And Finland, Fariyeni Fariyeni, Nurhastuti Nurhastuti
Journal of ICSAR
This study examines how cultural context shapes the development of critical thinking skills in deaf students through a comparative cross-cultural analysis of Indonesia and Finland. Although critical thinking is recognized as a core 21st-century competency, it remains underexplored in deaf education, particularly from a cross-cultural perspective. The research employed a qualitative, descriptive, and comparative design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analysed using comparative thematic analysis. Trustworthiness was ensured through source and method triangulation, peer debriefing with inclusive education experts, and member checking with participants. Participants included secondary-level deaf students, special education (SLB) teachers, and inclusive teachers …

Introduction: Hemiarch replacement with proximal aortic replacement is seldom performed via upper hemisternotomy (UHS). We report our surgical technique and postoperative outcomes in 11 patients who underwent UHS for hemiarch and proximal aortic replacement, compared with 15 patients who underwent the procedure via full sternotomy (FS).
Methods: A UHS was performed at the right third or fourth intercostal space. Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) was established via the distal ascending aorta or right axillary artery and right common femoral vein. After aortic cross-clamping (ACC), the heart was arrested with single-dose antegrade crystalloid cardioplegia. After proximal aortic replacement, hypothermic circulatory arrest (HCA) between …

Background
Intracranial arteriosclerosis (large‐ and small‐vessel disease) is considered a risk factor for major neurological disorders, such as stroke, cognitive impairment, and dementia. While most studies investigating intracranial arteriosclerosis include individuals from industrialized populations, the prevalence and clinical meaning of intracranial vascular calcifications in populations with a subsistence lifestyle is unknown. Methods
In this population‐based study evaluating data collected between 2017 and 2019 from Tsimane and Moseten people, 2 indigenous populations of forager‐horticulturalists living in the Bolivian Amazon, we used computed tomography to determine the prevalence of vascular calcifications in the intracranial internal carotid arteries, vertebral arteries, and lenticulostriate arteries …Unconstrained Plasticity Disrupts Memory Consolidation In A Mouse Model Of Rett Syndrome, Huda Y Zoghbi, Sachin P Vaidya

Memory impairment is a hallmark cognitive deficit in Rett syndrome (RTT). Yet, long-term memory deficits in RTT animal models remain poorly understood, largely due to the technical challenges inherent in tracking neural activity over extended periods. Here, we used longitudinal two-photon calcium imaging to follow the same population of hippocampal CA1 neurons as RTT mice and their littermate controls formed cognitive maps of their environment during a spatial learning task. Neural representations in RTT mice were marked by excessive place cell (PC) activity, with individual PCs exhibiting pronounced instability across days. This disrupted single-cell stability propagated to the population level, …
