Exploring The Theoretical Foundation With Rupture And Delayed Rupture Experiments, Shi-Qing Wang, Junpeng Wang, Asal Y. Siavoshani, Cheng Liang
University Research
We carry out uniaxial continuous and step stretching of various cross-linked polymer networks to demonstrate how characteristics of rupture during continuous stretching and delayed rupture after step stretching can be used to probe the structure of the emergent kinetic activation theory of bond dissociation (KATBD) for elastomeric failure. Based on delayed rupture experiments, we show that the network lifetime tntw, taken as the incubation time tdel-rupt for delayed rupture, depends on temperature in an Arrhenius like manner and is exponentially sensitive to the degree of network stretching (depicted by the step-stretch ratio λss). Rupture at λb during continuous stretching for …

Jurnal Administrasi Bisnis Terapan
Parental loyalty toward child therapy services is a critical factor in ensuring the sustainability of child development therapy centers. This study aims to analyze the effects of perceived quality, perceived value, perceived satisfaction, and perceived differentiation on brand trust and brand loyalty within the context of a child development therapy center. The study adopts a quantitative explanatory approach using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM–PLS). A total of 784 respondents who had utilized pediatric therapy services participated in this study. The results indicate that brand trust is the strongest predictor of brand loyalty (β = 0.386; p < 0.001). Perceived differentiation exerts the strongest influence on brand trust (β = 0.399; p < 0.001). Perceived quality significantly affects brand trust but does not have a direct effect on brand loyalty. Meanwhile, perceived satisfaction and perceived value significantly influence both brand trust and brand loyalty. These findings underscore that parental loyalty is shaped by a combination of trust, service differentiation, satisfaction, and perceived value. This study provides important managerial implications for the development of effective strategies in pediatric therapy services.

This study aims to examine the implementation of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) in the context of cryptocurrency investment intentions. UTAUT is a modern technology acceptance theory, developed from earlier models of technology adoption, and is commonly used to explore user acceptance of new technologies. In this context, it is applied to cryptocurrency, a relatively new form of investment that relies on technology not previously used in traditional investment instruments such as stocks, commodities, bonds, or mutual funds. UTAUT consists of four key constructs that explain individuals' intention and behavior in adopting a technology: effort …

Finding The Major Questions Doctrine, Chad Squitieri
Finding The Major Questions Doctrine, Chad Squitieri
Pepperdine Law Review
The major questions doctrine has been invoked primarily in the rulemaking context, where it requires agencies to identify particularly clear statutory authority before promulgating rules of “major” importance. Some scholars have suggested that the doctrine is a tool that should be limited to agency actions that are purportedly “legislative” in nature (e.g., rulemakings)—meaning the doctrine would not apply in other contexts, such as agency adjudications and enforce-ment actions that may not be similarly “legislative.” This Essay responds by arguing that the major questions doctrine is best understood as a limit on executive authority—meaning the doctrine could apply across a wider …
The Market Theology Of The Early Church: Some Theological Contributions To The Dismal Science, Jacob Sheldon Feiser
The Market Theology Of The Early Church: Some Theological Contributions To The Dismal Science, Jacob Sheldon Feiser
Journal of Religion and Business Ethics
This Article seeks to make three modest contributions. First, this Article serves to correct a failed historiography of the early church. While no patristic scholar argues that the early church professed a sort of proto-communism, other disciplines, namely, economics and business, perpetuate a misapprehension of how the early church thought about property and markets. Second, this Article offers an intellectual survey of both Ante-Nicaean and Nicaean/Post-Nicaean church fathers on property and markets. Through this survey, this Article seeks to demonstrate a general theme of the acceptance of private property, capital accumulation, market exchange, and arbitrage. Finally, this Article supports two …

Improving Quantitative Support Across An Institution Using An Ecosystem Framework, Laura Muller, Melissa Eblen-Zayas
Improving Quantitative Support Across An Institution Using An Ecosystem Framework, Laura Muller, Melissa Eblen-Zayas
Numeracy
In our keynote address at the 2025 National Numeracy Network Annual Meeting, we introduced the framework we developed for considering four domains of an institution’s quantitative skills/reasoning support ecosystem that includes bridge programs with a quantitative component, approaches to assessing readiness, curricular on-ramps, and supplementary support. We believe this ecosystem framework has the potential to help campus leaders coordinate institutional efforts around student success in areas connected to students’ quantitative preparation. This keynote highlighted the idea that coordination of stakeholders and their engagement with domains of the ecosystem fall along a spectrum. We provide approaches for using this framework to …

Higher Dosage Of Acetaminophen Associated With Lower Risk Of Acute Kidney Injury After Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, Melissa Nater, Joshua Wong, Nobuyuki Ikeda, Brian Heenan, Rohit S. Loomba, Jamie Penk
Journal of Pediatric Intensive Care
Background: Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) after pediatric cardiac surgery is manifested by injury along multiple pathways. One of these is oxidative injury related to hemolysis and subsequent deposition of hemoglobin in the kidney. Acetaminophen inhibits hemoprotein-catalyzed lipid peroxidation associated with hemolysis and in turn, may attenuate renal injury. Methods: We performed a retrospective chart review of patients undergoing pediatric cardiac surgery. A randomized controlled trial previously performed dictated a regimented, high dosage, acetaminophen. A historical cohort who received ad hoc acetaminophen prior to that study and that met the same inclusion/exclusion criteria were also analyzed, as patients from that era …

Evaluation Of Correlation And Agreement Between Spo2/Fio2 Ratio And Pao2/Fio2 Ratio In Neonates, Hemananda K. Muniraman, Abhijeet Namjoshi, Rutuja Kibe, Rangasamy Ramanathan, Manoj Biniwale, Ashley Y. Song, Ashwini Lakshmanan
Journal of Pediatric Intensive Care
Objective: To evaluate correlation and agreement between SpO2/FiO2(SF) ratio and PaO2/FiO2 (PF) ratio. To derive and validate predictive PF ratio from noninvasive SF ratio measurements for clinically relevant PF ratios and to derive SF ratio equivalent of PF ratio cutoffs used to define acute lung injury (ALI, PF<300) and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS, PF<200). Methods: Retrospective cohort study including neonates with respiratory failure over a 6-year study period. Correlation and agreement between PF ratio with SF ratio was analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient and Bland-Altman analysis. Generalized estimating equation (GEE) was used to derive PF ratio from measured PF ratio and derive corresponding SF ratio for PF ratio cutoffs for ALI and ARDS. Results: 1019 paired measurements from 196 neonates with mean 28(± 4.7) weeks gestational age and 925(±1111) grams birth weight were analyzed. Strong correlation was noted between SF ratio and PF ratio (r=0.90). Derived PF ratios from regression (1/PF =-0.0004304 + 2.0897987/SF) showed strong accuracy measures for PF ratio cutoffs <200(AUC: 0.85) and <100(AUC: 0.92) with good agreement. Equivalent SF ratio to define ALI was <450, moderate ARDS was <355 and severe ARDS was <220 with strong accuracy measures (AUC>0.81, 0.84 & 0.93 respectively). Conclusion: SF ratio correlated strongly with PF ratio with good agreement between derived PF ratio from noninvasive SpO2 source and measure PF ratio. Derived PF ratio may be useful to reliably assess severity of respiratory failure in neonates. Further studies are needed to validate SF ratio with …300)>
