Civilian airports in recent internal armed conflict are being affected by the military operations of state armed forces and non-state armed groups. A review of the recent internal armed conflict in the middle east shows increase attacks on airports, which often disrupts, altogether halts civilian navigation, and increase the risk of being affected despite the fact that international humanitarian law (IHL) does prohibit such civilian objects attack that violates humanitarian law except in certain situations when it became military objectives. Moreover, military use of airport, may not justify any attack and remains prohibited by other IHL principles. Despite the negative …

Imprisonment As A Criminal Sanction Against Corporations In Forestry Crimes: How Is It Possible?, Hafrida Hafrida, Retno Kusniati, Yulia Monita
Hasanuddin Law Review
Environmental harms are frequently part and parcel of ordinary commercial practice. This study aimed to highlight the importance of applying imprisonment as a corporate criminal sanction in forestry crimes to observe and consider individual and far-reaching victims. Forest crimes impact the community’s socio-cultural life and cause environmental damage by increasing global warming. Based on the laws and regulations, fines as criminal sanctions do not effectively deter corporations. Subsequently, imprisonment could be an alternative criminal sanction against corporations through identification where corporate liability could be identified through its management. Actions taken by the management are not based on their rights and …

Privacy should become a key component in the IT system. It is not something to be considered at last but from the very early stages. Almost no nation has a greater sense of personal data security which could be equivalent to the European level. Since 9/11, the United States has declared to utilize PNR as a method for combating terrorism by associating PNR data with criminal records. Nevertheless, in fact, the majority of data found in the PNR is immense and most of this data is of a confidential nature. The paper used doctrinal legal research methodology utilizing the case …

Sequential Convex Programming Using Safe Flight Corridor For Trajectory Planning Of Uavs, Zhu Wang, Zhenpeng Zhang, Mengtong Zhang, Guangtong Xu
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: To address the issues of sensitivity to initial values and weak convergence of sequential convex programming(SCP) based time-optimal trajectory planning for UAVs, a SCP method using safety flight corridor, denoted as SFC-SCP(safe flight corridor-sequential convex programming) is proposed. According to the obstacle avoidance path obtained from the front-end path planning, a safe flight corridor is constructed by forming a convex polygon safe flight area without obstacles for each trajectory point. The non-convex obstacle avoidance constraint is converted into linear inequality constraints to improve convergence ability. The rear-end SCP method is used to transform the nonlinear trajectory optimization problem under …

Hasanuddin Law Review
Arbitration serves as a dispute resolution method that offers notable benefits, especially in cases related to medical issues. In contrast, other methods such as litigation are often seen as less effective, while mediation lacks executory power due to the absence of legal enforceability, making agreements vulnerable to cancellation. In Indonesia, arbitration has not yet been adopted for resolving medical disputes, as specific technical regulations are still needed to guide relevant institutions and establish effective mechanisms. This research highlights the importance of implementing arbitration in Indonesia’s medical dispute resolution framework, using a comparative analysis of practices in the United States. Employing …

Examining The Sexual Identity Disclosure Process Among Black Queer Femmes And Their Families, Kaylah Denis
Master's Theses
Existing queer identity development theories often overlook the unique intersectional experiences of Black queer femmes (BQF), limiting their applicability and effectiveness in addressing the challenges faced by this population. Traditional models typically emphasize "coming out" to friends and family as a key step towards identity integration and self-actualization. However, these frameworks may not adequately capture the complexities faced by BQF, who navigate tensions between their racial/ethnic and LGBTQ+ identities. This study aimed to: 1) explore BQF experiences related to disclosing their sexual minority status to family members, 2) understand family members' responses to these disclosures, and 3) identify factors influencing …

Plasmodium Berghei Subpellicular Microtubule Protein-1 (Pbspm-1) Is A Microtubule Stabilizing Protein That Affects Schizont Development, Manuel Joseph Widuch
Master's Theses
In eukaryotes, microtubules (MTs) are regulated by microtubule-associated proteins (MAP), only a few of which have been characterized in the malaria parasite to date. Here we present the functional characterization of STOP axonemal protein 1 (SAXO1) of the rodent parasite Plasmodium berghei. The protein exhibits high sequence and organizational conservation to the subpellicular microtubule protein 1 (SPM1) of the apicomplexan parasite Toxoplasma gondii and SAXO1 of Trypanosoma brucei. SAXO1 proteins are conserved in most eukaryotes where they form a protein family. We refer to this protein as PbSPM1. It is a 38 kD protein that is organized into an N-terminal …

Carbon-rich Wolf-Rayet (WR) binaries are a prominent source of carbonaceous dust that contribute to the dust budget of galaxies. The “textbook” example of an episodic dust-producing WR binary, WR 140 (HD 193793), provides us with an ideal laboratory for investigating the dust physics and kinematics in an extreme environment. This study is among the first to utilize two separate JWST observations, from Cycle 1 ERS (2022 July) and Cycle 2 (2023 September), to measure WR 140’s dust kinematics and confirm its morphology. To measure the proper motions and projected velocities of the dust shells, we performed a novel point-spread function …
