“Gen Z Malas Dan Gampang Resign?”: Analisis Wacana Kritis Atas Representasi Negatif Dalam Media Massa, Muhammad Gaza

Jurnal Manajemen dan Usahawan Indonesia

This study employs Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis to examine how Indonesian online media construct negative stereotypes of Generation Z in the workplace. Based on an analysis of 15 national news articles (January–May 2025), the findings reveal that narratives such as “lazy,” “spoiled,” and “quick to resign” are consistently reproduced through word choice, institutional quotes, and framing aligned with traditional work values. The discourse operates on three levels: micro (biased linguistic structures), meso (digital market logic), and macro (intergenerational value tensions). These representations are not mere reflections of reality but symbolic practices that reinforce dominant work structures. A critical reading …

Monitoring And Mitigation Of Per- And Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (Pfas) In Urban Stormwater Runoff, Mustafizur Rahaman Jun 2025

Monitoring And Mitigation Of Per- And Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (Pfas) In Urban Stormwater Runoff, Mustafizur Rahaman

Theses and Dissertations

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are emerging contaminants known for their persistence with widespread environmental and health concerns. Urban stormwater runoff could be a non-point pollution source that transports PFAS to receiving water bodies. This study analyzed types and concentrations of PFAS in stormwater runoff from Trenton and Glassboro, New Jersey, with samples collected from high- and low-traffic areas during precipitation events in February, June, July, and August 2024. Significantly higher concentrations of PFAS were identified in high-traffic areas than low-traffic areas (p< 0.05) in both cities for most sampling events, confirming the role of traffic in PFAS dispersal. To address PFAS contamination in stormwater runoff, this study evaluated the removal of six U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA)-regulated PFAS compounds from synthetic stormwater runoff using aluminum-based water treatment residuals (Al-WTRs, by-products of the drinking water treatment process). The findings demonstrated that Al-WTRs exhibited high sorption capacities and low desorption rates for PFAS, particularly for long-chain PFAS compounds such as perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS), supporting their potential as an economical and effective sorbent for stormwater PFAS management. Furthermore, the durability and sustained performance of Al-WTRs indicated their feasibility for future field-scale applications.

From Differentiation To Disease: Cyclin C Directly Coordinates Transcription And Mitochondrial Dynamics, Alicia Campbell

Theses and Dissertations

Organelle crosstalk is essential for coordinating cellular responses to various external cues, including stress and differentiation. Two key organelles, the nucleus and mitochondria, engage in extensive crosstalk to manage responses to a range of environmental and developmental signals. Complex processes such as stem cell differentiation and neuronal development rely on organelle crosstalk. Both processes integrate changes in gene expression with cytosolic and organellar remodeling. However, it remains unclear how these two complex processes are coordinated to achieve the desired outcome. This project concentrates on cyclin C (CCNC), a component of the Mediator Kinase Module (MKM), and its role in directly …

Predicting The Influence Of Aggregate Size And Distribution On Cementitious Concrete Properties: A Review, Innocent J. Macha

Tanzania Journal of Engineering and Technology (TJET)

Cement concrete has been in use for centuries as one of the primary construction materials. Its demand in the construction industry is expected to continue for several centuries before the full development of alternative products. However, one of the main areas of research interest is understanding how its constituents can be tailored to make its properties predictable to reduce risks associated with structural failures, reconstruction and reduced durability. These hindrances associated with cementitious concrete result from several attributes, including constituent material characteristics, mixing ratios and workmanship. Understanding the predictability of cement concrete properties requires computer modelling tools to provide reliable …

Ai And The Erosion Of Law’S Moral Authority, Joseph Avery Jun 2025

Ai And The Erosion Of Law’S Moral Authority, Joseph Avery

BYU Law Review

Over the past decade, artificial intelligence (AI) has begun to assist, augment, and influence judicial and legislative work. At the end of 2023, U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts was “confident” that technological changes would continue to transform the common law and that judicial work would “be significantly affected by AI.”

In the legislative realm, there are AI tools devoted exclusively to drafting statutes, and the use of AI by members of the U.S. Congress is now officially sanctioned. These developments have led to a focus on technical and performance-related issues with AI, including those of accuracy and reliability, …

“Absolute And Arbitrary”: How The Supreme Court’S Certiorari Power Violates The Nondelegation Doctrine, Dinis Cheian

BYU Law Review

The Exceptions Clause of Article III of the Constitution is clear that “Congress” “shall make” the rules prescribing the Court’s “appellate jurisdiction.” And so Congress did for almost 150 years. But in the twentieth century, Congress delegated its power to the Supreme Court in the form of—as Chief Justice Taft demanded—”absolute and arbitrary” discretion to pick its appellate cases. Today, under the resulting certiorari regime, the Court enjoys that unbridled discretion in selecting its cases.

Because Congress delegated its power to the Court without articulating “an intelligible principle,” certiorari jurisdiction violates the nondelegation doctrine and is unconstitutional. This Article is …

Purdue’S Side Effects: Using Due Process To Realign Mass Tort Bankruptcies, William A. Organek

BYU Law Review

In Harrington v. Purdue Pharma, the United States Supreme Court held that victims of the opioid crisis could not be forced to release their independent claims against the Sacklers, who owned and controlled Purdue, without the victims’ consent. Such releases had become a controversial mainstay of mass tort bankruptcy filings. Yet Purdue was decided on narrow, textualist grounds, leaving as a side effect many seemingly disparate and difficult questions unanswered. This Article argues that Purdue and its open issues should be analyzed through a broader due process lens in tension with some aspects of current bankruptcy practice but consistent with …
