Population Structure And Stock Assessment Of Tilapia Species In Coastal Lagoon, Lake Manzala, Egypt, Mohamed Fetouh, Kariman Shalloof, Attia El-Aiatt, Alaa El-Far, Walid Aly

This study aimed to estimate the biology and population structure of cichlid species in Lake Manzala, where tilapias are the main catch. Samples were collected from commercial fishing boats in the fishing areas between 2019 and 2021. The length frequency distributions were evaluated using FiSAT II software. The results showed that Oreochromis niloticus was the most dominant species, making up 50% of the tilapia catch. Four age groups were found in O. niloticus and Coptodon zillii, and three in Oreochomis aureus and Sarotherodon galilaeus. Age group II was the most dominant across all species. International Journal of Exercise Science 18(5): 736-746, 2025. Blood flow restriction (BFR) combined with exercise has been shown to enhance muscle hypertrophy, strength, and aerobic capacity. While previous studies have evaluated the use of BFR among various practitioners, none have investigated its use exclusively among licensed U.S. physical therapists (PTs). A cross-sectional survey was distributed electronically to licensed U.S. PTs. Participants were required to use BFR currently in clinical practice. Survey items included respondents' demographics, practice setting, exercise mode, the type of BFR equipment used, and adverse events. A total of 134 licensed PTs from 20 states completed the survey. …

The SpaceCraft for Optical-based Position Estimation-1 (SCOPE-1) is a 3U CubeSat developed by the Texas Spacecraft Laboratory (TSL) at The University of Texas at Austin to demonstrate near real-time Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) estimation primarily using optical detections of Earth’s islands and archipelagos. The mission adapts algorithms originally developed for lunar crater-based PNT and applies them to terrestrial features for validation in low Earth orbit (LEO). Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the leading cause of mortality worldwide, accounting for over 931,000 deaths in the United States in 2021. The growing prevalence of CVD, coupled with increased life expectancy, underscores the need for early detection and intervention to mitigate its impact on patients, families, and society. Timely identification of subclinical heart disease can significantly improve outcomes by allowing earlier implementation of preventive strategies.

The Canadian Space Agency’s (CSA) Quantum EncrYption and Science Satellite (QEYSSat) mission launching in late 2026 will be the first demonstration of ground-to-space Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) in Canada. For this system, the receiving platform is a microsatellite in low earth orbit and the photon source is hosted in a ground based Optical Quantum Ground Station (OQGS). Together, they will enable the creation and exchange of cryptographic keys, establishing secure quantum communications at a minimum distance of 500 km. Background: Postpartum depression (PPD) and anxiety are growing public and global health concerns, particularly among immigrant populations. In Canada, first-time parents from minority immigrant backgrounds face unique stressors that may heighten their vulnerability to perinatal mental health challenges. While existing research has primarily focused on mothers, limited attention has been given to immigrant fathers and the experiences of both parents as a unit. This study explores the prevalence of depressive and anxiety symptoms among South Asian and Middle Eastern immigrant couples in Canada during the postpartum period.

In August 2024, Planet Labs PBC launched Tanager-1, a small satellite class hyperspectral satellite designed to detect methane point source emissions, developed through the Carbon Mapper partnership. In a short time, Tanager-1 began imaging and demonstrating the exceptional sensitivity of the onboard VSWIR imaging spectrometer designed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The early performance of Tanager-1 signals a significant advancement in remote sensing capability made possible by an innovative public-private partnership bringing together commercial, non-profit, philanthropic, academic, and government entities.
