Asadh: A Meta Learning-Based Auto-Selective System For Anomaly Detection In Healthcare, Nadia Rashid, Rashid Mehmood, Fahad Alqurashi, Turki Alghamdi
Journal of King Abdulaziz University: Computing and Information Technology Sciences
Anomaly detection plays a crucial role in healthcare, supporting early disease identification, process improvement, and the reliability of medical equipment. Traditional machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) models often fail to generalize across heterogeneous medical datasets due to variations in feature distributions, class imbalance, and high dimensionality. To address this, we extend our earlier ASAD framework and propose ASADH (Auto-Selective Anomaly Detection in Healthcare), designed specifically for medical anomaly detection. ASADH applies meta-learning over a unified set of cross-modal meta-features spanning tabular, time-series, and medical image data to characterize each dataset and automatically recommend the most suitable anomaly detection …

Advancements in AI technologies like ChatGPT are very much equipped and capable of writing articles within a short span of time. Use of artificial intelligence in education needs to be well organized and needs to go beyond technical accuracy, this opens a door to various unethical applications across multiple domains. Students rely on these AI tools, instead of coming up with their own idea and leads to reduce the student’s capacity to analyze information and to form a judgment. In other sectors like medical as well as in the field of scientific research there is an increase in use of …

Governing Cyberterrorism In Indonesia: Resilience And Gaps In The Draft Cybersecurity Law (Ruu Kks 2025), Eko Setyo Utomo
Indonesia Law Review
Indonesia’s accelerating digital transformation and persistent terrorist threats expose both resilience gains and governance gaps in its cybersecurity framework. This article examines the Draft Law on Cybersecurity and Resilience (RUU KKS 2025), which consolidates the authority of the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN) and strengthens protections for critical information infrastructure. While the bill enhances technical resilience and institutional coordination, it remains silent on cyberterrorism, leaving statutory, institutional, and international gaps. Drawing on cybersecurity theory, securitization theory, and hybrid warfare theory, the study argues that resilience without terrorism-specific provisions is strategically insufficient. Comparative analysis with the United Kingdom’s Terrorism Act, …

Floating Nuclear Power Plants On The Horizon. Do We Need A Revised Brussels Convention On The Liability Of The Operators Of Nuclear Ships?, Jakub Handrlica
Indonesia Law Review
Adopted in 1962, the Brussels Convention on the Liability of the Operators of Nuclear Ships has been considered an obsolete instrument for the last 60 years. In light of renewed interest in floating nuclear power plants (FNPPs), this article revisits the regime of this half-forgotten Convention and calls for its modernisation. The fact is that a robust legal framework for liability and compensation must accompany any prospective deployment of FNPPs. This article argues that adopting a Revised Brussels Convention will help address these challenges. This article aims to identify the reasons for this modernisation and to outline its significant features. …

BACKGROUND: Self-reported medication data collected as free text in gerontological and dementia research is often unstructured with inconsistent formatting. These circumstances pose a challenge for standardization and classification when preparing effective, reproducible analyses. Spelling variations, naming conventions, and reporting drug combinations can hinder mapping to standard pharmacologic vocabularies and compromise medication exposure assessments. We aimed to develop and implement a transparent, reproducible, and scalable data harmonization pipeline that ingests free-text medication records and classifies them according to American Hospital Formulary Service (AHFS) therapeutic categories. METHODS: A four-phase curation pipeline processed 30,062 Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) medication records collected over …

Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) infections are a leading cause of diarrheal illness, responsible for an estimated 100,000 deaths annually. ETEC pathogenesis is driven by various virulence factors, including toxins, adhesins, and noncanonical factors such as the protease EatA. The first line of host defense against intestinal pathogenic bacterial infections is the protective intestinal mucus layer. Here, we demonstrate the mechanism by which EatA degrades the core mucus component MUC2, thereby facilitating access to the epithelial cell surface and promoting infection. We identify the specific cleavage site region localized at the C-terminal of MUC2. EatA's protease activity depends on the interaction …

Occupational Resilience (Part 1): Origins And Significance To Health And Well-Being, Bernard A. Muriithi, Jyothi Gupta
Occupational Therapy Faculty Scholarship
Occupational resilience (OR) is a novel concept emerging in occupational therapy and occupational science, with significant implications for the field. However, its definition is still evolving and needs clarity and consensus. In this article, we offer a definition inspired by the real-life experiences of refugee immigrants who have been resettled in the United States of America (USA). We define OR as the ability to persist in an occupation, where the duration and intensity of engagement are the essential contributors. Therefore, we propose that three elements, occupation, intensity, and duration, constitute the nature of OR and shape how occupation impacts health, …

Occupational Resilience (Part 2): Toward A Cross-Culturally Relevant Measure Of A Novel Construct, Bernard A. Muriithi, Milan Bimali
Occupational Therapy Faculty Scholarship
Occupational resilience (OR) refers to an individual’s ability to persist in performing an occupation, with the duration and intensity of engagement determining resilience for each occupation. It is a key determinant of both the manner and the extent to which occupations influence health; therefore, it is a promising construct with several potential applications. There are currently no validated OR measures; which problematizes its application. Three considerations were made in designing the Occupational Resilience Measure (ORM 1.0) and evaluating its potential as a cross-culturally relevant measure of OR: 1) the findings of a published study of lived experiences of refugees from …

Background: Surgical sutures play a critical role in wound healing, especially in dental applications where the oral environment presents unique challenges such as high vascularization and constant exposure to saliva. While Indonesian-made silk sutures offer an affordable alternative to imported options, their mechanical performance under simulated oral conditions remains underexplored. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the mechanical properties of Indonesian-made silk sutures after immersion in artificial saliva for varying durations (0, 1, 7, and 14 days). Methods: An in vitro experimental study was conducted using 20 sterile silk suture specimens (4-0 gauge). Five specimens were tested …

Quality Evaluation Of Ecological Experience Resources And Optimization Of Resource Management Policies In National Parks: Taking The Laohegou Area Of Giant Panda National Park As An Example, Baorong Huang
Double Helix Methodology
National parks are the core carriers for implementing the concept of “ecological protection first, public welfare for all”. This study used the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to evaluate the ecological experience resource quality of the Laohegou area in Giant Panda National Park of China. Based on the standardized psychological assessment scale and the Kessler Psychological Distress Scale, we have established an evaluation model for the psychological health benefits, quantifying the psychological health benefits of tourists in the ecological experience of national parks. At the same time, the relationship between the demographic characteristics, ecological experience characteristics, psychological health level, and psychological …
Economic Resilience As A Mediator: Assessing The Impact Of China’S Grazing Withdrawal Project On Herders’ Well-Being In The Yellow River Source Region, Lihua Zhou
Double Helix Methodology
Investigating how China’s most extensive grassland conservation program, the Grazing Withdrawal Project, impacts herders’ resilience and welfare levels is crucial for promoting sustainable grassland protection and enabling herders to withstand external shocks. However, few empirical studies have linked policy measures, economic resilience, and subjective well-being. Based on 266 questionnaires from the Yellow River Source Region, we constructed an indicator system for evaluating economic resilience and employed multiple linear regression to explore the key variables affecting herders’ economic resilience and subjective well-being under the context of the project and to clarify the mediating effect of resilience in translating government interventions into …
Toward An Orderly And Efficient Post-Disaster Humanitarian Material Donation System: A Case Study Of The ‘9·5’ Luding Earthquake, An Chen
Double Helix Methodology
Purpose – This study aims to assess the orderliness of the humanitarian material donation system (HMDS) following the 2022 “9·5” Luding Earthquake in China, providing insights into improving disaster relief efficiency and promoting postdisaster recovery. Design/methodology/approach – The orderliness of the HMDS is evaluated across three dimensions: donation input, donation output and donation environment. Correlation entropy and running entropy models are used to assess the system’s dynamics and to compare the performance of four donor types: government, enterprises, organizations and individuals. Findings – The early emergency phase (the first 12 days after the earthquake) is characterized by disorder and repeated …
