Determining The Fidelity Of Multiple Casts Made From A Single Polyvinylsiloxane Impression, Steven Curtis, Steven Sadowsky, Eric Salmon
Determining The Fidelity Of Multiple Casts Made From A Single Polyvinylsiloxane Impression, Steven Curtis, Steven Sadowsky, Eric Salmon
Oral Health
ABSTRACT
Statement of problem: Indirect restorations may not fit the patient’s teeth, or they may require excessive adjustment. If multiple casts from the same impression are equivalent, dentists can use new pristine casts to determine if fit problems have a laboratory or clinical cause. If the problem is from the laboratory, it may be correctable on a pristine cast.
Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study is to determine if the areas critical for indirect restoration fit are equivalent on 6 casts made over 29 days from a single polyvinylsiloxane impression.
Material and Methods: Eight impressions were made …

Populism And Identity Politics In The U.S. Heartland, Ann M. Oberhauser, Daniel Krier
Populism And Identity Politics In The U.S. Heartland, Ann M. Oberhauser, Daniel Krier
Fast Capitalism
The rise of populism on the political right in the U.S. and Europe in recent decades reflects a significant shift in political culture. This populism has been associated with the rejection of mainstream politics and increased hostility toward immigrants, racialized minorities, and other marginalized groups who are seen as threats to economic security and hegemonic social identities. In the U.S. Heartland, several key states flipped from Democrat to Republican in 2016, sealing Trump's win and leading to widespread debates about populist political attitudes in this region. This analysis draws from focus group discussions with community leaders in rural and micropolitan …

The Manosphere As An Online Protection Racket: How The Red Pill Monetizes Male Need For Security In Modern Society, Eva Bujalka, Tim Rich, Stuart Bender
Fast Capitalism
To effectively manage, empathize with and respond to the implications and impact of the so-called ‘Manosphere,' this paper is centered on the premise that researchers require an understanding of the draw factors that lead individuals to engage, affiliate with, and contribute to the various groups that constitute this wider movement. This paper seeks to contribute to the growing body of knowledge around the Manosphere by exploring how thought leaders propagate symbiotic cycles of ontological security and insecurity through YouTube in a manner that resembles a protection racket. It argues that these constructed ontological security cycles provide a powerful impetus to …

Synthesis And Characterization Of Tio₂@Zn₂Sno₄ Composite As A Novel Uv Filter With Reduced Photocatalytic Activity And Low Toxicity For Sunscreen Applications, Rusul Kadhim Naser, Kadhim Al-Attafi, Muntadher Abdulsalam A.Al.Alrabeeah
Karbala International Journal of Modern Science
This study builds upon our recent investigation, which utilized various morphologies and particle sizes of Zn₂SnO₄ and TiO₂. Zn₂SnO₄ can block UVB and part of UVA and shows much less photocatalytic activity than TiO₂. Herein, the current study aims to reduce the photocatalytic activity of TiO₂, a compound often utilized as an ultraviolet (UV) filter in sunscreen, by incorporating Zn₂SnO₄ as a composite. Since Zn₂SnO₄ produces much fewer free radicals, in terms of the reactive oxygen species (ROS), due to its low photocatalytic activity. To overcome or minimize the high photocatalytic activity of TiO₂, composite materials TiO₂@Zn₂SnO₄ …

Karbala International Journal of Modern Science
Background: With the rising popularity of e-cigarettes, questions have emerged regarding their broader influence on oral ecology, nutrient absorption, and psychological health. Disruptions in the oral microbiome may alter vitamin B12 dynamics. This, in turn, may indirectly influence serotonin biosynthesis and mood regulation.
Methods: An observational cross-sectional study involved 150 young adults segregated into groups of 50 each as vapers, smokers, or non-users. Streptococcus sanguinis and vitamin B12 metabolism-related variable statuses methylmalonic acid and holotranscobalamin were quantified in samples, along with inflammatory markers interleukin-6, kynurenine/tryptophan ratio, and serotonin. Statistical techniques, including ANOVA and the Kruskal-Walli’s test, correlation, and serial mediation …
