Small Satellite Conference
The growing demand for agile orbital maneuvering in small satellites highlights the need for propulsion systems that provide both sufficient ΔV and meaningful thrust. Existing options remain polarized between low‑thrust electric propulsion and hazardous, difficult‑to‑miniaturize chemical systems. Hybrid chemical propulsion offers a promising middle ground; however, only one in‑orbit demonstration has ever been conducted, leaving the technology at a low level of maturity. Letara Ltd. has developed ICR‑X, a 2U CubeSat‑class hybrid chemical propulsion system using HDPE fuel and nitrous oxide. The system features an integrated oxidizer‑tank–combustion‑chamber structure, a low‑power multi‑restart ECP ignition system, and oxidizer‑temperature‑based thrust control, enabling 1–4 …

The MUSIC Hall thruster has been selected as the propulsion system for the Space Trajectory Demonstrator 1.0 mission. The propulsion system is based on four baseline MUSIC 4U systems with two Xe tanks and a planned total impulse of at least 150 kNs. The four thruster units can provide up to 12 mN of combined thrust and the system will be used for orbit raising. The satellite platform is a 50 kg-class microsatellite scheduled to launch in Q3 2027 with a KSLV-II launcher from the Republic of Korea. MUSIC STD 1.0 propulsion system follows an 18-month long development timeline with …

Vyom 2U is a compact 2U green monopropellant propulsion system designed to deliver a total impulse of 1700 Ns. At Beginning-of-Life (BOL) conditions, corresponding to a tank pressure of 24 bar, the thruster can deliver up to 1.1 N with a specific impulse of approximately 250 s, while requiring a peak electrical power of 15 W. At an operating pressure of 14 bar, the propulsion system delivers a thrust of approximately 0.67 N with a specific impulse of about 238 s. This operating point was deliberately selected for in-orbit operations to maintain sub-newton thrust levels compatible with the attitude control …

Exposure to space weather in the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) environment poses significant challenges to both the integrity and longevity of orbital hardware, as well as the health of astronauts, driving the necessity for improved means of radiation shielding for future missions. With a 1U CubeSat formfactor, ROSISat is a planned LEO mission that aims to characterize the radiation shielding capabilities of seven candidate materials: ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, boron nitride, carbon nanotubes, boron nitride nanotubes with polyethylene fibers, carbon fiber reinforced composite, and aerographene, as well as two control materials: aluminum 6061 and ep33. By comparing the shielding performance …

NASA’s Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD) funded CU Aerospace (CUA) to develop and fabricate the Dual Propulsion Experiment (DUPLEX) 6U CubeSat to perform an on-orbit mission demonstration of two new polymer fiber electric propulsion technologies developed by CUA using NASA Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) funding. Both new propulsion technologies have multiple advantages: they utilize no fluid propellant, no pressure vessel, no valves to clog or leak, and no toxic materials. The 1.7U fiber-fed pulsed plasma thruster (FPPT) uses spooled Teflon filament as its propellant, has extremely high total impulse ( > 29,000 N-s) with high specific impulse ( > 3,500 s), …

MOTIVATION
A feasibility study conducted at an Auckland secondary school in December 2024 found strong interest in satellite-related learning. Following an outreach presentation, 63 students (Majority aged 15 - 18) completed a questionnaire, with an average interest rating of 4.86/5. The most popular subjects were Orbital Physics, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering (fig. 1).

Small Satellite Conference
Recently, active research and technological development have been conducted on various mission application in VLEO(Very Low Earth Orbit) using MicroSat. However, the limited payload accommodation capability of MicroSat poses significant challenges for high optical resolution commercial or national-level practical missions. In contrast, satellites of 2,000 kg in size have performed well in low-Earth orbit for the very high optical resolution missions required so far (e.g., 30 cm-level resolution optical satellites) in 450 km ~ 600 km orbit altitude, but in order to meet the continuously increasing resolution requirements in the future optical imagery market (e.g., 15 cm-level resolution), the optical …

Small satellite teams often develop flight software and mission operations separately, leading to software behaviors that drift out of sync with ground procedures. To fix this, we present a co-design approach that directly links mission goals and operational procedures to the onboard flight software architecture. Demonstrated on the CubeSTEP-Cerberus mission using NASA’s F′ framework and FreeRTOS, our system maps mission intent into five constrained software states (Initialization, Safe, Idle, Experiment, and Transmit) guarded by automated health checks. This co-design strategy ensures the spacecraft acts autonomously to preserve its goals while strictly maintaining operator control over critical decisions.

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine
Urinary calculi are commonly encountered in veterinary practice; however, information regarding their distribution of stone that underwent analysis and associated clinical findings remains limited. This study investigated the distribution of urolithiasis and the associations between stone types and clinical and laboratory findings in dogs and cats presented to the Chulalongkorn Small Animal Teaching Hospital between 2020 and 2024. The three most common stone types in both species were calcium oxalate (CaOx), struvite, and urate, with relatively stable trends over the 5-year period. Small-breed dogs had a higher risk of developing CaOx urolithiasis than medium-breed dogs (OR = 10.4, 95% CI …

Exchange-Health Monitoring For Human–Ai Systems: A Technical Description, Christopher P. Horrocks

Current safety mechanisms for general-purpose AI systems classify individual messages against categories of prohibited content. A distinct class of failures -- sycophantic drift, dependency formation, deployer-aligned output shaping -- develops across exchanges rather than within them and has no recognizable topic. Experimental evidence indicates that participants in such exchanges cannot reliably detect these failures, because the interaction itself shifts the evaluative baseline against which degradation would be judged. This document describes a two-tier, locally hosted monitoring architecture that reads the exchange from outside it. The architecture comprises a session reader (real-time triage of single sessions) and a trajectory reader (scheduled …

In multi-agent systems, such as those organized as directed acyclic graphs, cold-start initialization latency at transitions between agent nodes can create performance bottlenecks. This delay can occur when a system waits for an upstream agent to complete its task before preparing resources for the subsequent downstream agent. The described systems and techniques can address this by implementing speculative resource pre-warming. A system can monitor the partial output of an active upstream agent to extract a routing fingerprint and predict the likely next agent in the workflow. Based on this prediction, computational resources for the downstream agent, such as models and …
