Gci #289 — Bio‑Active “Pulse‑Lattice” Cast, Michael Victor Caldwell Mr.
Defensive Publications Series
This disclosure describes the GCI #289 — Bio‑Active “Pulse‑Lattice” Cast, a reusable, breathable, bio‑active orthopedic immobilization system intended to replace traditional plaster and fiberglass casts. The device combines a 3D‑printed gyroid/tri‑diamond “Pulse‑Lattice” exoshell, embedded low‑intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) elements, pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) vortex coils, acoustic impedance–based Bone Density Index (BDI) monitoring, visual healing‑phase indication (red–yellow–green LEDs), vortex‑air internal channels for skin health, and self‑powered operation via kinetic and thin‑film solar harvesting. The cast is designed to immobilize a fractured limb while actively accelerating bone healing, monitoring structural progress, detecting re‑injury, and maintaining skin integrity. All components are intended to …

System And Method For Automated Factual Correction And Real-Time Video Synthesis In Streaming Media, Ashutosh Srivastava
Defensive Publications Series
A system related to automated factual correction and real-time video synthesis in streaming media. The system establishes persistent links between verifiable factual claims in video audio tracks and canonical external data sources, continuously monitors sources for changes, and upon detecting verified discrepancies, synthesizes corrected audio using voice cloning and generates synchronized lip-sync video segments that are spliced into the original video asset.
Smart Glasses To Compute Heartbeat, Jian Guo, Dongeek Shin
Smart Glasses To Compute Heartbeat, Jian Guo, Dongeek Shin
Defensive Publications Series
This disclosure relates to systems and methods for monitoring a wearer’s heartbeat using smart glasses configured to detect pulsations of a temporal artery located near a temple region of the head. A sensing component embedded within a temple arm of the smart glasses includes a capacitive sensing assembly configured to detect deformation of a soft temple material caused by arterial pulsation or an accelerator chip, for example, inertial measurement unit (IMU) configured to capture vibration. Changes in capacitance resulting from the deformation generate an analog electrical signal corresponding to the wearer’s heartbeat. The analog signal is conditioned by a signal …
Rna Interference Targeting Autocrine Motility Factor Receptor In Unfolded Protein Response In Acyrthosiphon Pisum, Micah A. Von Stroh, James Balthazor
Rna Interference Targeting Autocrine Motility Factor Receptor In Unfolded Protein Response In Acyrthosiphon Pisum, Micah A. Von Stroh, James Balthazor
SACAD: Scholarly Activities
Acyrthosiphon pisum, more commonly known as pea aphids, are a pest to many species of Fabaceae (legumes) mainly due to the species being prone to carrying Fabaceae diseases. Protection against A. pisum currently includes insecticides and natural predators, both of which bring potential negative effects to other organisms in the surrounding area. In this study, the use of RNA interference (RNAi) provides an alternative and species-specific elimination of A. pisum. The targeted proteins in this study, Autocrine Motility Factor Receptor, plays a role in removing misfolded proteins from the cells of A. Pisum and is encoded by the AMFR gene. …
Standardizing Cardiac Rehabilitation Referrals In A Rural Primary Care Clinic, Carlie H. Sanders
Standardizing Cardiac Rehabilitation Referrals In A Rural Primary Care Clinic, Carlie H. Sanders
SACAD: Scholarly Activities
Abstract
Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is a cost-effective, evidence-based approach for patients with cardiac conditions to improve quality of life and health outcomes. Despite the benefits, it remains a nationally underutilized service, and extensive research has been conducted to identify interventions that most effectively increase referrals and participation in CR programs. Two of the more successful interventions include strengthening provider recommendations and using a standardized referral system (Ades et al., 2022). This quality improvement project aimed to strengthen provider recommendations and increase the frequency of referrals to the existing CR program at a rural primary care clinic by 50%. To do …

Atp Architect - Development Of A Metabolism Boardgame, Selene J. Welch, Micah Burk, Brooklyn Gilchrist, Emma Haase, Timothy T. Jones
SACAD: Scholarly Activities
Traditional metabolism instruction often leaves students struggling with pathway interconnectedness and metabolite flux. To foster systems thinking, we are developing an educational board game where students manipulate tokens to navigate physiological constraints and achieve target energy goals. Grounded in Design-Based Research (DBR), the game undergoes iterative refinement based on player feedback. The design utilizes constructivism by allowing students to "fail safely" and revise strategies in real-time, while leveraging embodied cognition to externalize abstract flux into the physical trading of resource tokens.

Social Emotional For Secondary English Language Learners, Summer E. Wallace
Social Emotional For Secondary English Language Learners, Summer E. Wallace
ASPIRE 2026
A presentation about Social Emotional Learning (SEL), it's importance, and how to implement it in the classroom. Specific considerations are included for secondary English Language Learners. Parts of lesson plans created for this population of students on the topic of SEL are included, as well, to show how this type of instruction can be effectively implemented in the classroom.
