Dnp Final Report: Lifting The Silence: Psychological Stress In Air Medical Crew Members, Justin Brooks
Dnp Final Report: Lifting The Silence: Psychological Stress In Air Medical Crew Members, Justin Brooks
DNP Final Reports
Psychological stress among air medical crew members is a persistent concern with implications for workforce well-being, retention, and patient safety. Air medical transport environments are characterized by high-acuity clinical care, operational risk, irregular schedules, and repeated exposure to potentially traumatic events, all of which contribute to elevated stress levels. The purpose of this Doctor of Nursing Practice project was to evaluate the impact of a structured, evidence-based intervention designed to reduce psychological stress among air medical crew members within a single air medical transport program. Guided by the Johns Hopkins Evidence-Based Practice model, the project implemented a multimodal intervention incorporating …
Fossil-Fueled Failure: How Nonrenewable Energy Policy Will Cost The United States The Ai Race, Kayla Landeros
Fossil-Fueled Failure: How Nonrenewable Energy Policy Will Cost The United States The Ai Race, Kayla Landeros
Duke Law & Technology Review
This Article examines the structure and regulation of the United States electricity industry in light of accelerating electricity demand driven by Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) and digitalization. It argues that the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and related executive actions have exacerbated existing structural weaknesses within the nation’s energy governance framework by repealing renewable energy incentives, privileging nonrenewable generation, and reinforcing the instability of an executive dominated regulatory model. Through a comparative analysis, the Article contrasts the United States’ fragmented, market-based approach with China’s centralized, statute-based framework, which integrates renewable energy development, grid expansion, and AI infrastructure into a cohesive national …
Developing Pediatric Educational Resources For Occupational Therapy Fieldwork Students And New Employees, Alyssa Gottheiner
Developing Pediatric Educational Resources For Occupational Therapy Fieldwork Students And New Employees, Alyssa Gottheiner
Entry-Level Occupational Therapy Doctorate - Doctoral Capstone Symposium
For occupational therapy students, the fieldwork education portion of their curriculum allows them to apply theory and principles learned in their academic program into practice with actual clients (Occupational therapy fieldwork education, 2022). Research indicates the benefit of access to resources and adapting to different learning styles in occupational therapy fieldwork education (Grenier, 2015). Research also indicates that training programs for new healthcare employees can positively impact knowledge, skills, and performance (Patel et al., 2023). However, there is a lack of research on the availability and benefit of supplemental educational resources for students to access during fieldwork education in pediatric …

Crossing The Border: A Participatory Action Research Project For The Brentwood Oaks Church Of Christ To Engage With Spanish-Speaking Neighbors Through Missional Hospitality, Charles Johanson
Harding School of Theology Dissertations and Theses
Throughout Scripture, hospitality occupies a central place in the mission of God. Welcoming the stranger across cultural barriers requires the church to practice missional hospitality by playing the role of host and, especially, guest in the neighborhood. Moreover, small group experimentation facilitates the innovation necessary to effectively practice missional hospitality. Through experimentation in cross-cultural situations, church members increase their awareness of cultural differences that leads to opportunities for the congregation to welcome neighbors in loving, sacrificial, and hospitable ways. Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ (BOCC) resides next to a neighborhood with a high population of Spanish-speaking immigrants. The goal of …

Quality Improvement Project Strengthening Faculty Competence: The Impact Of Structured Debriefing Education On Nursing Faculty Confidence And Competency Compared To Current Practice, Sudaneyse Emmanuel
Doctor of Nursing Practice Projects
Nursing education sometimes struggles to prepare faculty to lead effective simulation-based learning and debriefing. Inconsistent debriefing practices can reduce faculty confidence and competency, limiting student reflection and the development of clinical judgment. This quality improvement project examined whether a structured debriefing education program could enhance nursing faculty confidence and competency in simulation debriefing compared with current practice at a technical college. The project used the Jeffries Simulation Theory and Lewin’s Change Theory as guides. The project used a one-group pretest-posttest design by using the C-Scale to measure confidence and the Facilitator Competency Rubric to measure competency among nursing faculty who …

Brain Delivery Of Antibody-Derived Biologicals For Alzheimer’S Disease: An Updated Narrative Review, Rachita K. Sumbria, Ruben J. Boado
Pharmacy Faculty Articles and Research
Antibodies directed against β-amyloid (Aβ) have been developed for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). However, the in vivo central efficacy is reduced by the poor penetration of antibodies across the blood–brain barrier (BBB). In addition, these antibodies have been associated with adverse effects like amyloid-related imaging abnormalities. Thus, the development of new antibody-based therapies for AD with improved transport across the BBB may improve efficacy and reduce adverse effects. Antibodies targeting the BBB transferrin receptor (TfR) are able to cross the BBB through receptor-mediated transcytosis, producing a global distribution throughout the brain. Along the same line, bispecific antibodies directed …

Efficient Intrusion Detection For Iomt: Integrating Machine Learning, Feature Selection, And Fuzzy Logic, Ghaida Mansour Balhareth
Efficient Intrusion Detection For Iomt: Integrating Machine Learning, Feature Selection, And Fuzzy Logic, Ghaida Mansour Balhareth
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The internet of medical things (IoMT) has transformed healthcare by enabling real-time patient monitoring, remote diagnoses, and effective data exchange among connected medical devices and clinical systems. The increasing reliance on interconnected medical equipment has also intensified cybersecurity risks, as resource-constrained devices and wireless communication channels are vulnerable to attacks such as man-in-the-middle, spoofing, data injection, and ransomware. Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs) play a critical role in mitigating these threats; however, traditional IDS approaches often struggle with high-dimensional IoMT data, class imbalance, and uncertainty in traffic patterns, which can increase false alarms and reduce reliability in safety-critical environments. This dissertation …

Setbacks And Stigmas: The Career Consequences Of Mental Health Treatment For Soldiers In Combat Roles, Micah Mark Marchand
LSU Master's Theses
This study examines how potential career consequences, perceived stigma, and confidentiality concerns influence mental health help-seeking among United States Army Soldiers, with particular attention to differences across Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) categories. Despite the availability of behavioral health services, many service members delay or avoid treatment due to fears that seeking care may negatively impact their careers, including risks to promotion, deployment eligibility, and retention. Guided by Systems Theory, this research explores how interconnected military structures, policies, and cultural norms shape these perceptions and behaviors.
Using a confidential survey design, data were collected from current service members and recently separated …

Engaging Clinicians In Geriatrics Education: Geriatrics Fast Facts & Casts, Deborah Simpson, Angela Beckert, Anne Getzin, Kathryn Denson, Kjersti Knox, Christina Dukehart, Steven Denson, Edmund Duthie
Aurora GME
Introduction/Background
Educating clinicians about geriatrics is critical as the U.S. population ages rapidly. The 2020 Census revealed that 1 in 6 people in the U.S. were 65 or older and by 2050, Americans aged 65+ will reach 82 million—23% of the population. Research shows 30% of seniors need care from a geriatrician, but the current supply meets only a fraction of that demand. Most clinicians lack formal geriatrics training, despite the increasing numbers of older adults with complex, multifaceted needs. Integrating geriatrics into medical education ensures all providers can deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care to this growing demographic. Geriatrics …

Toward A Local Governance Model For Green Building Regulation: Lessons From A Philippine City, Mikaela Amihan S. Arrosa, Aileen V. Lapitan
Journal of Public Affairs and Development
The study analyzed local governance in implementing green building regulations in a city in Metro Manila, Philippines, through a case study. Compliance rates were calculated by comparing projects with Green Building Compliance Certification to those with Green Building Pre-Compliance Certification issued by the city. The Delphi method explored environmental sustainability implications of compliance, while key informant interviews and policy landscape analysis identified the factors affecting Green Building Code management. Fewer than half of the pre-compliance and construction permit holders also received occupancy certificates. Three rounds of the Delphi method were conducted, resulting in consensus on recommendations to enhance governance mechanisms …

Implementing The Safe System Approach For Speed Management In Utah, Kezia Isabelle Tripp
Theses and Dissertations
Speed management is central to reducing fatal and serious injury crashes. The Safe System Approach, an emerging roadway safety paradigm in the United States, recognizes human error and vulnerability and focuses on minimizing crash severity through coordinated policy, design, and operational strategies. This thesis examines how Safe System Approach principles can be applied to speed management, with a focus on identifying practical countermeasures and implementation strategies relevant to the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT). A compendium of practice was conducted to evaluate speed management countermeasures and document how cities and state Departments of Transportation are implementing Safe System Approach-based strategies. …

A landlord, owner of subsidized housing for persons with disabilities and senior citizens, commenced an action seeking rental arrears, injunctive relief for objectionable conduct, and ejectment. The tenant moved to dismiss the ejectment cause of action. The court denied the landlord's cross-motion for partial summary judgment as procedurally improper. While denying the tenant's request to transfer the case to Housing Court due to the demand for injunctive relief, the court granted the tenant's motion to dismiss the ejectment cause of action, finding the termination notice deficient as it failed to advise persons with disabilities of their right to request reasonable …
