A Roadmap For Trauma-Informed Practice Integration In Teacher Preparation Content, Kathryn S. Young, Ofelia Castro Schepers
Journal of Educational Research and Innovation
With the continued interest in trauma-informed practice (TIP) knowledge at the P-12 level, it has become imperative to consider the role of teacher preparation programs in providing this crucial knowledge to preservice educators. The TIP program at Mountain U (pseudonym) School of Education (SOE) is working to increase the current TIP knowledge of preservice teachers so that they are ready to implement TIP from the beginning of their careers. This paper adds to the trauma-informed literature in teacher preparation by describing the TIP initiative at Mountain U. It provides a roadmap for schools and departments that want to undertake this …

Rapid Direct Wax Up For Provisional Crown Fabrication, Debra A. Woo Dds, Ma, Chi Tran
Pacific Journal of Health
While there are numerous choices for provisionalization, this technique is advantageous when a patient presents with an immediate need for temporization and there is limited time in the schedule for both the patient and provider. Providing an efficient solution using readily available materials that address the esthetics, function and reduction of sensitivity until the patient can be appointed for definitive treatment is illustrated.
Medical School Middle Managers Learning To Successfully Work With Leadership To Navigate Organizational Change, Elizabeth G. Smith
Medical School Middle Managers Learning To Successfully Work With Leadership To Navigate Organizational Change, Elizabeth G. Smith
Doctor of Education Program Dissertations
There is a lapse in research exploring middle managers at medical schools during an organizational change. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to examine the perceptions of middle managers during an organizational change to mitigate burnout and build resilience. The literature reviewed explored how stressors from organizational changes may impact medical school middle managers, leading to feeling less secure about their position and increasing middle managers’ stress leading to burnout. For an organizational change to be successful, middle managers must build trust with their staff, communicate with middle managers, and engage middle managers in the change process. Burnout …

Identifying Essential Employability Attributes Of Mba Graduates Without Work Experience Using Grounded Theory, Puja Ghosh Singh, Parveen Ahmed Alam, Kaushik Kundu
An-Najah University Journal for Research - B (Humanities)
The aim of this study is to identify attributes that are essential to increasing the employability of a fresh MBA graduate, i.e., those without any work experience, based on the grounded theory approach. Specifically, the purpose is to explore HR managers’ perceptions of attributes required by fresh MBA graduates to assess their corporate readiness or employability so that they can join the corporate sector. The study utilized Strauss & Corbin’s (1990) method of grounded theory, where 16 human resources professionals at the middle management level were interviewed one by one to get their perspective on the attributes that are essential …

Grain and Other Field Crops Research Articles
Context or problem
Selective herbicides control weeds in cereal cropsand break down over time, allowing safe planting of legumes in the following years. However due to climatic inconsistencies and changing farming practices, this is not always the case, and residues can inhibit formation of legume/rhizobia symbioses.
Objective or research question
The objectives were to determine whether: i) exposure to triasulfuron, even at extremely low levels, reduces shoot and root growth and nodulation of five diverse and widely sown legume pasture cultivars in Australian farming systems; and ii) sowing legumes prior to recommended plant-back criteria being met for chlorsulfuron, …

BACKGROUND: Neuroligin 4 X-linked (NLGN4X) harbors a human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-A*02-restricted tumor-associated antigen, overexpressed in human gliomas, that was found to induce specific cytotoxic T cell responses following multi-peptide vaccination in patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma.
METHODS: T cell receptor (TCR) discovery was performed using droplet-based single-cell TCR sequencing of NLGN4X-tetramer-sorted T cells postvaccination. The identified TCR was delivered to Jurkat T cells and primary human T cells (NLGN4X-TCR-T). Functional profiling of NLGN4X-TCR-T was performed by flow cytometry and cytotoxicity assays. Therapeutic efficacy of intracerebroventricular NLGN4X-TCR-T was assessed in NOD scid gamma (NSG) major histocompatibility complex (MHC) I/II knockout (KO) …

Background
Standardized exercise protocols have been shown to improve overall cardiovascular fitness, but direct effects on left ventricular (LV) function, particularly diastolic function and relation to post-transcriptional molecular pathways (microRNAs (miRs)) are poorly understood. This project tested the central hypothesis that adaptive LV remodeling resulting from a large animal exercise training protocol, would be directly associated with specific miRs responsible for regulating pathways relevant to LV myocardial stiffness and geometry.
Methods and results
Pigs (n = 9; 25 Kg) underwent a 4 week exercise training protocol (10 degrees elevation, 2.5 mph, 10 min, 5 days/week) whereby LV chamber stiffness (KC) …

"ABSTRACT TITLE: Improving Time to Defibrillation
Background: Providence St. Vincent Medical Center (PSVMC) Medical Surgical units are not meeting the American Heart Association requirement of less than 3 minutes to defibrillation. Time to defibrillation in codes with shockable rhythms averages 4.2 minutes. In Mock Codes, only one met the time less than 3 minutes; four Mock Codes had times over 5 minutes. Resuscitation Quality Improvement CPR (RQI) training is required quarterly. Defibrillator practice with overall Code Blue competency is annual.
Purpose: Combine the hands-on practice of the defibrillator with the hands-on training for RQI.
Methods: The Medical Surgical unit 6 …
How Summary Eviction Proceedings Fail Individuals Facing Housing Discrimination, Katherine Alonzo
How Summary Eviction Proceedings Fail Individuals Facing Housing Discrimination, Katherine Alonzo
Cardozo Journal of Equal Rights and Social Justice (ERSJ) Blog
Every year, over three million American households are threatened with eviction from their homes. The consequences of eviction are “dire” and affect “every facet of life” that go beyond someone’s physical safety and livelihood. For instance, evictions may leave people unhoused, “[fracture] the integrity of their families, [crush] their livelihoods, [damage] their mental and physical health and their safety, [deprive] them of their place in community and, ultimately, [tear] apart the fabric of their communities.” While Americans of all backgrounds face evictions, there are often large racial, ethnic, and gender disparities among those who face eviction with Black Americans, women, …

Here is the first single book to exclusively address this tragic behavior. From the foreword by Dr. Mamoona Muzammil to the final conclusions and recommendations, College Student Suicide serves as both a primer and a state-of-the-art volume on youth suicide in the higher education setting. Experts provide important data on suicide, examine the risk factors for suicide, and explore preventive interventions and the delivery of other necessary services. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for young people ages 18-24. What is not always captured by this statistic is the strong emotional impact that suicide has on young people …

Aspen Bibliography
Oystershell scale (OSS; Lepidosaphes ulmi L.) is an invasive insect that threatens sustainability of aspen (Populus tremuloides Michx.) in the southwestern United States. OSS invasions have created challenges for land managers tasked with maintaining healthy aspen ecosystems for the ecological, economic, and aesthetic benefits they provide. Active management is required to suppress OSS populations and mitigate damage to aspen ecosystems, but before management strategies can be implemented, critical knowledge gaps about OSS biology and ecology must be filled. This study sought to fill these gaps by addressing 3 questions: (i) What is the short-term rate of aspen mortality in …

Implementing Clinical Practice Guideline To Impact Postpartum Hemorrhage Among Immediate Postpartum Mothers, Teresa C. Okolo
Dissertations
Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) can lead to untoward conditions in mothers following childbirth. At the project site there was no accurate method for measuring blood loss, resulting in the early identification of PPH, so an evidence-based solution was sought. The purpose of this quantitative, quasi-experimental quality improvement project was to determine if the implementation of the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative (CMQCC) Quantitative Blood Loss (QBL) Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) would impact blood loss within two hours post-delivery among mothers with a vaginal or cesarean delivery in an urban hospital in New York over four weeks. Kristen Swanson's theory of caring …
Performance Analysis And Evaluation Of Image Processing Techniques, Dcnn And Bsn Model For Detection And Classification Of Diabetic Retinopathy, Sudha S
Theses and Dissertations
Diabetes is a disorder that arises when blood sugar level increases. Insufficient secretion of insulin hormone is the ground for the evolution of diabetes, and it affects most of the critical organs in our body. Diabetes causes leakage of blood in the retinal blood vessels, inducing an eye disease, Diabetic Retinopathy (DR). The visual identification of micro features in fundus images makes the clinicians complex and challenging tasks. Therefore, timely diagnosis and proper treatment can prevent eye blindness. This research is proposed to identify and classify diabetic retinopathy using an Image Processing technique, Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN), Biological Sensor …
