Detection Of Tuberculosis Using 2-D Photonic Crystal-Based Biosensor, Markov Vladimir, Skobelev Maksim, Neeraja Patil, Prathap P B, Saara K
Manipal Journal of Science and Technology
While there has been a significant increase in healthcare demands and the need for precise clinical judgment, it is important to note that the performance enhancement of photonic crystal sensors is not solely attributed to this surge in demand. Instead, photonic crystal-based biosensors have demonstrated improved performance over conventional biosensors. In this study, a 2-D photonic crystal-based biosensor with a square lattice structure, measuring 6 x 6 µm in length and width respectively, was proposed. The biosensor utilizes Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) as a sensing material, where TiO2 is employed to attract target molecules present in the sample. The proposed biosensor …

Data Privacy Issues In West Virginia And Beyond: An Overview, Jena Martin
Law Faculty Scholarship
Work on the first edition of this white paper originally began in February 2019. The final results were published in February 2021 and was originally entitled Data Privacy Issues in West Virginia and Beyond: A Comprehensive Overview. In the almost three and a half years since that work was commissioned, the landscape of data privacy and its attendant technologies has grown so significantly that I no longer feel comfortable in calling any paper that discusses these issues comprehensive. Indeed, when engaging with experts, insiders, and consumers, the one common theme that seems to now permeate this work is its vastness …

Controlling the time to perform each part of the human wheel movement in a way that serves the goal is one of the important factors that determine the success of the continuity of the movement performance. Therefore, it is very important for the athlete to learn the ability to control how to show acceleration during rotation, and show momentary stillness during balance. The success of executing the human cartwheel depends on the strength and speed of propulsion of the legs and hands, as well as on the mutual relationship between them. It is noted that one of the problems that …

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), especially in the proximal part of the lower extremity, might progress to pulmonary embolism and be fatal. Therefore, it is crucial to prompt the diagnosis of DVT in the emergency room (ER). Due to its efficiency and patient convenience, duplex ultrasound has become the preferred diagnostic method for DVT. Point-of-care ultrasonography (POCUS) was known as a simpler and faster way to use ultrasonography at the bedside. The two-point compression method has become frequently used due to its ability to take less time for examination, yet there are still concerns about its accuracy. This study was conducted …

Policies related to stunting prevention have been in place since 2013. However, the prevalence of stunting in East Nusa Tenggara Province is still the highest in Indonesia from 2013 to 2022. One of the areas in the province where the prevalence decreased from 2021 to 2022 is Kupang City. Oresitrophe is monotypic, with the only species, Oresitrophe rupifraga Bunge, which is exclusive to China, having special growth and developmental traits due to its habitat. Furthermore, it has bright flowers and medicinal benefits. This study investigated the metabolites present in various tissues of Oresitrophe rupifraga Bunge. Using a widely targeted metabolomics approach, 1965 different metabolites were identified in Oresitrophe rupifraga Bunge. Based on principal component analysis (PCA) and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA), the aboveground and underground metabolites of Oresitrophe rupifraga differed significantly. The comparison between bulblets and leaves revealed the differential expression of 461 metabolites, whereas the …
