The Level Of Student Participation In Decision-Making Processes In Kosovo Universities: A Comparative Study Between The University Of Prishtina And The University Of Business And Technology, Blerina Recica, Dea Preniqi, Dritero Arifi
UBT International Conference
During the last decade in the education system of Kosovo, there has been an increase in demands for increased student representation in the decision-making processes of universities. During the last decade, efforts have been made for the concept of joint leadership to be implemented by Kosovar universities (public and private). This can be justified because students are the primary actors influenced by these decisions, and consequently, they should be held accountable for these decisions. To see how effective the work of these bodies has been, this paper aims to analyse research and elaborate at what level is the degree of …
Emmanuel Bailly: The Advisor And Friend Of Christian Youth, Ralph Middlecamp
Emmanuel Bailly: The Advisor And Friend Of Christian Youth, Ralph Middlecamp
Vincentian Studies
Frédéric Ozanam’s legacy overshadows contributions of other Society of Saint Vincent de Paul founders, such as Emmanuel Bailly. A man who worked in the background, Bailly should be better recognized, both for his role as a founder and for the part he played in the restoration of Catholicism in post-revolutionary France. Ralph Middlecamp discusses Bailly’s life and work, which was rooted in his Vincentian heritage. A teacher and a journalist, Bailly mentored young men in faith and good works, and the Conference of History that he started brought the Society’s founders together. He published several newspapers addressing contemporary social issues …
A Biblical, Culturally Relevant, And Contextually Applicable Financial Literacy Curriculum, Wallace Kanyuira
A Biblical, Culturally Relevant, And Contextually Applicable Financial Literacy Curriculum, Wallace Kanyuira
Doctor of Leadership
Poverty in Kenya is high, and the church should respond by economically empowering the people to be self-reliant. People are in poverty, not for lack of opportunities and resources, but because they lack the knowledge and skills to exploit these opportunities, make decisions they are ill-equipped to make, and lack financial literacy. Many people who are financially struggling tend to seek solace in churches. Consequently, pastors need to master and teach biblical financial literacy and reshape the church culture to be responsive. In Hosea 4:6 God says: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. . . .” Biblical financial …

The study was carried out by a review of the literature to identify the significant contribution of these two related theories in human resource management. Due to its multi-disciplinary nature, the literature on these two theories was wide among scholarly sources such as web-based sources, including Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and subject-specific e-databases namely JSTOR, Emerald, Sage Journals, Taylor &Francis, and ERIC. This study explores several aspects of …
Using Visual Storytelling To Design Solutions-Based Approaches To Homelessness, Peggy Peattie
Using Visual Storytelling To Design Solutions-Based Approaches To Homelessness, Peggy Peattie
Dissertations
Despite millions of dollars spent over several decades on assistance programs, the nation’s homeless population has increased for the last four years in a row. The number of people reporting as homeless for the first time doubled in San Diego between June 2019 and June 2020. Trying to impose a one-size-fits-all model of care on a population comprised of unique individuals has resulted in many homeless opting for the street rather than subjugating themselves to rules they feel do not treat them with respect and dignity. Yet, the perspectives of homeless individuals are excluded from decision-making dialogue around policies and …

Becoming Aware Of The Leader Within: Measuring The Impact Of Mindfulness Practices On Leadership Development, Ayumi Tachikawa
M.A. in Higher Education Leadership: Action Research Projects
The unprecedented events brought on by the global spread of COVID-19, along with the racial justice protest movement, have contributed to heightened mental, emotional, and physical distress among leaders. While research shows chronic stress and anxiety contribute to decreased focus, creativity, and overall well-being, mindfulness, the practice of being actively aware of the internal and external environment, can counter and mitigate those harmful effects that hinder effective leadership.
This research utilized a mixed-methods approach to examine the impact of mindfulness practices on three leadership competencies that an extensive literature review deems essential for successful leadership in times of uncertainty: self-awareness, …

How Are The Collaborative Efforts Of The Transition Plan Team Viewed By Its Members, Teresa Henderson
Doctoral Dissertations
The views of a transition/IEP team members of the collaborative efforts of each other have had little or limited viewing. Annually there are approximately six million special education students in the United States of America (Samuels, 2017). While in high school, these students and their transition/IEP team are tasked with preparing them for adult life (U.S. Department of Education [USDOE], 2018). The team’s collaborative efforts are a necessary component of ensuring the success of each student’s adult life (Michaels & Ferrara, 2005).
For students to find success after high school, all transition/IEP team members need to collaborate as best as …

It was hypothesized that SMIs would have higher levels of extraversion, agreeableness, openness, conscientiousness, and neuroticism than non-SMIs. It was also hypothesized that SMIs would demonstrate more stress on social media than non-SMIs. In the current study, the participants consisted of 75 SMIs and 75 non-SMIs on Instagram. LIWC software was used to analyze frequencies of terms used by the …
The Use Of Drama To Help Children Build Confidence And Self Image, Ronson Hawkins
The Use Of Drama To Help Children Build Confidence And Self Image, Ronson Hawkins
Honor’s College Freeman Research Journal
The art of Theatre has been practiced for hundreds of years. It is an art form that merely imitates life. The actor is challenged mentally, physically, and emotionally in order to live truthfully under the imaginary circumstances given by the creator of the show/production that they are participating in. This requires one to flex a set of creative muscles that must be developed through constant training within the craft. Although excellent formal training would equip any Actor with the appropriate tools to excel within a performance, those tools don’t just apply to the stage. The tools given to one who …

The Pursuit Of Equitable Virtual Learning: District Leaders’ Understanding Of The Influences On Designing 100% Virtual Learning Experiences During The Covid-19 Pandemic, Kathleen Wolfe Maxlow
Educational Leadership & Workforce Development Theses & Dissertations
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam required all schools to close their doors from March 13, 2020, through the remainder of the school year, causing districts in the Commonwealth to create distance learning plans for PreK-12 education within a matter of weeks. The continued fluctuation of COVID-19 positive case numbers throughout the spring and summer led to several school districts choosing to open the 2020-2021 school year using a 100% virtual model for all students. This qualitative, grounded theory study sought to determine how superintendents understood the influences on the design of their district’s 100% virtual learning plans. …
