Locational Analysis Of Seasonal Migration Of Nomadic Pastoralists In A Part Of Northern Nigeria, Nathaniel Olugbade Adeoye

The Geographical Bulletin

There seems to be paradigm shift in the direction of seasonal migration among the nomadic pastoralists in southern Nigeria owing to recent social events and hostility confronting them in their communities. This study examined the new directions of seasonal migration among nomadic pastoralists, the migration pattern, distances covered during migration, period of return to the home area, factors responsible for the migration pattern, and the challenges encountered in the new area. The study relied mainly on primary data, which emanated from a survey questionnaire. The resultant data were used to elicit information on the relevant variables of the study. One …

A New Genus Of Horn-Like Tetrigids (Orthoptera: Caelifera: Tetrigidae) From South America, Daniela Santos Martins Silva, Marcelo Ribeiro Pereira

Insecta Mundi

A new pygmy unicorn genus, Brazitettix Silva, new genus, and two new species, Brazitettix roraimae Silva, new species and Brazitettix paulista Silva, new species (Orthoptera: Caelifera: Tetrigidae) are described in Brazil. This new genus is a unique tetrigid taxon in the American continent due a notched-long and elevated head projection. The morphology of this taxon resembles Rostella Hancock, 1913 and Dravidacris Bhaskar and Kasalo, 2022 that are currently comprised into Cleostratini, an artificial group that contains biogeographic distant taxa with distinct morphological head projection.

Resumen

Un nuevo género de tetrígidos, Brazitettix Silva, nuevo género, y dos nuevas especies, …

All ETDs from UAB

The purpose of this dissertation was to examine the impact that power imbalance has on safe sex practices among African American emerging adults. The objectives included: provide a thorough review of preexisting literature that explores the impact of power imbalance on safe sex practices among African American women; understand the impact that power imbalance has on safe sex practices among African American emerging adults comparing data from men and women; and understand if resilience is associated with power imbalance among African American emerging adult women in the United States. Utilizing a retrospective, cross-sectional, quantitative study design, three methods were used …
