Vulnerability Through Story Deepening Male Relationships, Paul Samuel Hahn May 2026

Vulnerability Through Story Deepening Male Relationships, Paul Samuel Hahn

Doctoral Dissertations and Projects

Men need a vulnerable community. This action research project examines the development of a vulnerable community within the local church context at Maranatha Bible Chapel in Horseheads, NY. The men of Maranatha Bible Chapel feel the persistent challenges in Western culture that erect barriers to vulnerable masculine relationships within the community. Even though the men of Maranatha Bible Chapel report high participation in the church, they chronicle feelings of isolation and a desire for closer relationships between the men in the congregation. This action research project seeks to address the problem of vulnerable male relationships at Maranatha Bible Chapel by …

A Phenomenological Study Examining The Challenges Mothers Face With Reentry Into The Workforce After Giving Birth, Carrie Bell May 2026

A Phenomenological Study Examining The Challenges Mothers Face With Reentry Into The Workforce After Giving Birth, Carrie Bell

Doctoral Dissertations and Projects

The purpose of this phenomenological study was to describe the lived experiences of new mothers with postpartum depression (PPD) who reentered the workforce in Arkansas. The study aimed to discover the psychological, organizational, and social difficulties these mothers experienced during the transition from maternity leave to regular employment. Using feminist theory, attachment theory, and social constructivism as guiding frameworks, the study investigated the effects of gendered workplace structures, interrupted maternal-infant bonding, and sociocultural expectations in shaping how mothers perceived themselves and their work. A purposive sampling strategy was applied to select participants who had returned to work within one year …

Local dendritic computations are thought to critically influence neuronal signaling and plasticity yet remain largely unexplored in vivo due to challenges in stably imaging small structures at ultrafast timescales. We developed a 3D real-time motion correction platform for movement-stabilized, ultrafast two-photon voltage imaging. By co-labeling CA1 pyramidal neurons with voltage and calcium indicators, we simultaneously measured somato-dendritic and electro-calcium coupling at multiple dendritic sites. We characterized isolated dendritic spikes and distance-dependent backpropagation of naturally occurring and photostimulation-evoked bursts and single spikes. We found that bursts backpropagated more reliably than single spikes, validated that somato-dendritic coupling decreases with distance from soma, …

Beyond The Pulpit: How Theological Training Equips Believers To Discern Their Ministry Calling, Gladys Elizabeth Moy May 2026

Beyond The Pulpit: How Theological Training Equips Believers To Discern Their Ministry Calling, Gladys Elizabeth Moy

Doctoral Dissertations and Projects

This dissertation will examine the theological and practical dimensions of ministry calling through the framework of the Fivefold Ministry as indicated in Ephesians. “And He gave some, apostles, and some, prophets, and some, evangelists, and some, pastors and teachers” (King James Bible, 1769/2017, Ephesians 4:11-12). It will challenge the prevailing assumption that a divine call to ministry is primarily expressed through pulpit-centered roles, arguing instead that ministry encompasses a broader spectrum of functions within the body of Christ. Grounded in theological reflection and contemporary scholarship, the study will contend that while all believers are called to ministry, their specific callings …

Exploring The Impact Of Cultural Beliefs On Death Anxiety: A Qualitative Study To Inform Healthcare Education And Practices, Sharon Sonnilal

Doctoral Dissertations and Projects

A hermeneutic phenomenological approach framed this qualitative study, examining how cultural beliefs, spiritual traditions, and relational contexts shape death anxiety and meaning-making among adults from diverse backgrounds. Terror Management Theory and Culturally Sensitive Grief Treatment guided the conceptualization of death anxiety as a culturally mediated and relational phenomenon rather than an isolated psychological response. A purposive sample of 13 adults aged 18 and older represented diverse cultural, racial, gender, and spiritual identities. Recruitment occurred via Instagram, and participants completed an open-ended demographic and narrative survey. Participants who provided rich survey narratives received invitations to complete semi-structured Zoom interviews to deepen …

Variables in the study include CTAE participation, behavioral referrals, and graduation rates.

Findings from the study reveal positive …

One Body Many Members: Toward A Vision Of Individual And Corporate Maturity In The New Testament, Rebecca Mohr May 2026

One Body Many Members: Toward A Vision Of Individual And Corporate Maturity In The New Testament, Rebecca Mohr

Doctoral Dissertations and Projects

The apostle Paul and the author of Hebrews both discern within the early Christian communities a critical deficiency: some individual believers did not realize the value they would bring to the corporate Church body by maturing and remaining committed to the fellowship. For Paul, growth in Christ is inherently ecclesial; the believer’s Christian maturity contributes to the edification and unity of the body, as articulated in Ephesians 4, where maturity in faith and knowledge safeguards the church from fragmentation and instability. Spiritual immaturity, therefore, is not merely an individual shortcoming but a communal liability that threatens the integrity of the …

The Effects Of Narrative Identity Awareness On The Relationship Between Adult Attachment, Shame, And God Attachment, Jacqueline H. Watson May 2026

The Effects Of Narrative Identity Awareness On The Relationship Between Adult Attachment, Shame, And God Attachment, Jacqueline H. Watson

Doctoral Dissertations and Projects

This quantitative study examines the interconnectedness of adult attachment, shame, God attachment, and narrative identity awareness. Insecure adult attachment has been shown to result in increased shame experiences and has been linked to insecure God attachment. Awareness of narrative identity has been used to improve left-right brain integration and correct problematic narratives that often lead to shame. This research employs Likert scale-style questionnaire data, parallel mediation, and linear regression-based models to assess the connections between study variables. More specifically, it examines whether narrative identity awareness moderates the relationship between adult attachment, shame, and God attachment. Participants included self-identifying Christian adults …

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

Hantaviruses are zoonotic agents that play a significant role in global public health, primarily due to their ability to cause two highly severe clinical syndromes: Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome (HFRS), which is predominant in Eurasia, and Hantavirus Cardiopulmonary Syndrome (HCPS/HPS), which is primarily found in the Americas. Although long recognized, the complex interactions between the virus, its rodent reservoir, and environmental factors make hantaviruses still a relevant epidemiological threat today. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of their virological characteristics, epidemiological patterns, pathogenesis mechanisms, risk factors, diagnostic methods, therapeutic options, prevention strategies, and the latest developments in …

An Introduction To Forest Management And Its Long-Term Linkages To Water Resources, John W. Groninger, Karl W. J. Williard May 2026

An Introduction To Forest Management And Its Long-Term Linkages To Water Resources, John W. Groninger, Karl W. J. Williard

Journal of Contemporary Water Research and Education

The management of forest-based land uses and water resources largely complement one another. Formal research where vegetation versus water-focused resources intersect has been limited primarily to assessing short-term impacts of intensive forest harvesting operations on water quality or watershed discharge. Outside of harvesting, foresters and watershed managers are generally aware that changes in forest structure or evolving management protocols that play out on multi-decadal scales also impact water resources. However, few studies have addressed these in ways that may influence proactive management decision making. Recent changes in water resources and forest management protocols, driven by forces as diverse as urbanization, …

Background: Fluoxetine is a commonly prescribed selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor in children and adolescents. It is administered as a racemate where the R- and S-enantiomers differ in pharmacological activity and metabolism. Additionally, fluoxetine and its primary metabolite, norfluoxetine, contribute to overall therapeutic effects. S-fluoxetine is primarily metabolized by CYP2D6 to form S-norfluoxetine, while R-fluoxetine is metabolized by CYP2D6, CYP2C9, and CYP2C19 to form R-norfluoxetine. These enzymes are highly polymorphic, and the combination of alleles an individual carries corresponds to a metabolizer phenotype, such as CYP2D6 poor (PM), intermediate (IM), normal (NM), and ultrarapid metabolizers (UM). Further, fluoxetine and norfluoxetine are …

Recombinant Erythropoietin (Repo) Use For Anemia Of Prematurity- A Three-Year Single Center Experience, Hannah Darland, Krishna Dummula, Chaitali Mahajan, Vishal Pandey

Research Showcase

Background: Anemia is a common disorder of prematurity secondary to limited blood volume, excessive blood draws, inadequate nutrition, poor iron reserves, and insufficient endogenous erythropoietin. While many NICUs use recombinant erythropoietin (rEpo) to treat anemia of prematurity, the absence of universal guidelines has

led to variability in dosing and schedules. Here we present our experience on the use of rEpo in a level 3 NICU. Our unit protocol uses 400 IU/kg three times a week for a total of 9 doses if hematocrit < 30%.

Objectives/Goal: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the response to rEpo in infants with anemia …
