Multi-Neutrosophic Ayni Method Based On Ancestral Logic And N-Alectic Reasoning For Ethical Ai And Sustainability, Maikel Y. Leyva Vázquez, Noel Batista Hernandez, Edwin Alberto Callejas, Florentin Smarandache
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
This article presents the Multi-Neutrosophic Ayni Method, a novel framework that integrates Latin American Indigenous philosophies with neutrosophic logic to guide ethical and sustainable AI development. Grounded in ancestral principles such as Ayni, Buen Vivir, In Lak’ech, ch’ixi, and nepantla, this approach models plural, ambiguous, and context-dependent ethical judgments through Multi-Neutrosophic Sets (MNS). A key contribution is the introduction of the Euclidean Multi-Neutrosophic Consensus Measure, which quantifies the degree of alignment among diverse stakeholders' evaluations without erasing epistemic differences. This measure enables the detection of convergence thresholds in intercultural deliberation, offering a rigorous yet flexible tool for decision-making. The method …

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
The present study investigates a central problem in the field of virtual education: how it influences the use of Google Meet in the Oral Production Competition of University Students at a public university in Lima. The research issue focuses on determining whether this platform, widely integrated into current educational environments, effectively contributes to the development of oral communicative skills in a foreign language. In a context where digital technologies are essential for teaching, understanding their real impact is essential to optimize learning processes in non-face-to-face modalities. Therefore, this investigation adopts an innovative approach based on neutral Z numbers, which allows …

Neutrosophy, Causal Ai, And Web3: Combo For Complex Decision-Making, Ranulfo P. Barbosa, Florentin Smarandache, Maikel Y. Leyva Vázquez, Joaquin B. Monge
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
This article introduces Neutrosophic Causal AI, a novel framework that integrates neutrosophic logic with structural causal models to enhance decision-making under uncertainty. While traditional Causal AI is effective at identifying cause-and-effect relationships, it assumes a level of precision rarely found in complex, real-world systems. By incorporating degrees of truth (T), indeterminacy (I), and falsity (F), Neutrosophic Causal AI extends causal inference to accommodate ambiguity, contradiction, and incomplete data. The proposed framework formalizes the neutrosophic do-operator and adapts Judea Pearl’s structural causal models to a neutrosophic context, allowing for more nuanced intervention analysis and counterfactual reasoning. Through illustrative examples and a …

Thinking About Complexity In Latin America: Contributions Of Neutrosophy In Dialogue With Edgar Morin, Noel Batista-Hernández, Maikel Yelandi Leyva-Vázquez, Alenna Rosa Batista-Barallobre
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
Smarandache’s neutrosophic logic—and its broader philosophical umbrella of MultiAlism, which insists that any assertion must be considered together with its neutral and anti-assertive counterparts—offers powerful methodological tools to operationalize Edgar Morin’s complexity thinking. While Morin contributes the principles of dialogic, recursiveness and the hologrammatic approach, his continental framework can be difficult to apply empirically. Neutrosophy and MultiAlism formalize contradiction, uncertainty and multidimensionality, thereby bridging theory and practice. In Latin America, where complexity thinking is widely adopted to address realities marked by inequality and instability, this integration enables rigorous modelling of non-linear phenomena. Applications such as Neutrosophic QCA (NsQCA), Neutrosophic Cognitive …

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
This study aimed to evaluate user satisfaction with retail software developed by Software Engineering students using a Neutrosophic Likert Scale, which captures agreement, indeterminacy, and disagreement dimensions to better reflect real-world user perceptions. The results demonstrated high agreement scores (mean ∼0.75) across key characteristics such as ease of use, speed, and response quality, indicating strong user satisfaction, while moderate indeterminacy scores (mean ∼0.25–0.75) highlighted areas for minor improvements. The study’s key contributions include the application of neutrosophic logic to assess software usability, validation of the student’s technical and managerial competencies, and actionable insights for enhancing system performance and user experience.

Computational Intelligence For Disease Diagnosis: An Approach Based On Neutrosophic Logic, Omar Mar Cornelio, Barbara Bron Fonseca
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
Medical diagnosis faces significant challenges due to the inherent uncertainty and ambiguity of clinical data. In this context, this paper proposes a neutrosophic logic-based approach to disease diagnosis, with an emphasis on the detection of chronic kidney disease. The primary objective was to develop a computational method that adequately represents and manages uncertainty by transforming clinical attributes into neutrosophic structures composed of triplets (T: truth, I: indeterminacy, F: falsity). The implemented methodology included the collection and preprocessing of real clinical data extracted from the UCI repository (135 patients), the application of imputation and normalization techniques, the definition of diagnostic criteria, …

Integrating Random Forest With Neutrosophic Logic For Predicting Student Academic Performance And Assessing Prediction Confidence, Franklin Parrales-Bravo, Roberto Tolozano-Benites, Alexander Castro-Mora, Leonel Vasquez-Cevallos, Elsy Rodríguez-Revelo
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
This study proposes a hybrid approach to predict students’ final academic performance in a mathematics course by integrating Random Forest, a supervised machine learning model, with neutrosophic logic to assess prediction reliability. The objective is to improve educational forecasting by not only predicting grades but also quantifying the confidence of each prediction through neutrosophic components—truth (T), indeterminacy (I), and falsity (F). The model was trained on a dataset of demographic, academic, and social attributes from Portuguese schools, achieving robust performance (MAE = 1.54, R2 = 0.61). Key contributions include: (1) a framework for transparent AI-assisted decision-making in education, (2) actionable …

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
This study investigates the interdependence between informational skills and digital competencies, and how an educational intervention can strengthen this relationship in university students. Using Plithogenic n-SuperHyperGraphs as a modeling mechanism, 40 students were assessed through questionnaires and practical tests before and after a ten-week experiment. Findings revealed new associations, such as a strong positive correlation (0.82) between information searching and digital literacy. Significantly, the percentage of students with high-level integrated skills increased from 12.5% to 37.5% after the intervention. Although the intervention improved all dimensions regardless of socio-demographic variables, female students, engineering students, and the 18-20 age group showed the …

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
This research contributes to the literature where ideal monetary policy selection to increase housing demand in Pe-ru is still lacking for a vulnerable sector that can easily become unstable in times of recession. This research is sig-nificant because policymakers should pay attention to the real estate sector as it has economic and social welfare implications due to the current housing deficit situation across the country and international investors and lenders. Although previous articles have assessed how monetary policy transmits through the housing sector, few pay at-tention to the adoption of uncertainty itself. Therefore, prevailing methods do not comprehensively assess how …

Strategies For Harmonic Mitigation In Water Pumping Systems Using Neutrosophic Logic., Jefferson A. Porras, Luis R. Curipoma, Byron P. Corrales, Jorge L. Villarroel
Neutrosophic Sets and Systems
This study analyzed harmonic contamination in Quillán 1 and Quillán 2 pumping stations, characterizing the electrical system conditions and proposing solutions that addressed actual operational requirements. High levels of harmonic distortion were identified, particularly in 5th and 7th order harmonics, which exceeded the limits established by national regulations, despite the system presenting adequate energy utilization. To select the most appropriate mitigation strategy, the TOPSIS method under neutrosophic logic was applied, which allowed the integration of expert perception and the inherent indetermination margins of such systems. This logic, which simultaneously considers degrees of truth, falsehood, and uncertainty, enabled the evaluation of …

Back To The Future For Climate Liability, Anthony Moffa
Pace Environmental Law Review
The Polluter Pays Principle has been a central tenet of environmental policy for decades. It provided an economic justification for compelling cleanups through the Superfund law (the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA)). However, outside of that context, it has not been explicitly cited as the chief justification for much environmental law in the United States—until now. The principle has recently been invoked in state climate lawmaking. Last year, Vermont and New York became the first states to enact laws that impose liability on fossil fuel producers for climate change harms, invoking the Polluter Pays Principle and Superfund …

A Versatile Platform For Designing And Fabricating Multi-Material Perfusable 3d Microvasculatures, Nathaniel Harris, Charles Miller, Min Zou
Mechanical Engineering Faculty Publications and Presentations
Perfusable microvasculature is critical for advancing in vitro tissue models, particularly for neural applications where limited diffusion impairs organoid growth and fails to replicate neurovascular function. This study presents a versatile fabrication platform that integrates mesh-driven design, two-photon lithography (TPL), and modular interfacing to create multi-material, perfusable 3D microvasculatures. Various 2D and 3D capillary paths were test-printed using both polygonal and lattice support strategies. A double-layered capillary scaffold based on the Hilbert curve was used for comparative materials testing. Methods for printing rigid (OrmoComp), moderately stiff hydrogel (polyethylene glycol diacrylate, PEGDA 700), and soft elastomeric (photocurable polydimethylsiloxane, PDMS) materials were …

Transposable elements (TEs) make up around half of the human genome. Their transcription is repressed in most somatic cells to maintain genome integrity and function. The repression is chiefly maintained by a combination of epigenetic modifications such as DNA methylation and histone modifications. However, recent research suggests that liver steatosis is associated with extensive changes to the hepatocyte epigenome. Furthermore, studies in mice have reported diet- and drug-induced changes to TE transcript levels in liver. The confirmation of these effects in human liver has not previously been undertaken. Here, we examined TE transcription in liver tissue from three patient cohorts …

Simple And Complex Phonic Tics In Tourette Syndrome, José Fidel Baizabal-Carvallo, Joseph Jankovic
Faculty, Staff and Students Publications
Tourette syndrome (TS) is the most common cause of tics. Tics are classified as motor and phonic tics. The latter (previously also referred to as “vocal tics”) are manifested by simple sounds (simple phonic tics) or complex, often semantically meaningful utterances (complex phonic tics). Methods: We compared the clinical and demographic features of consecutive patients with TS who exhibited simple and complex phonic tics. Results: There were 149 patients, 117 (78.5%) of whom were males; the mean age at evaluation was 19.61 ± 12.97 years. In total, 35 (23.5%) of these manifested complex phonic tics, and 26 (17.4%) had verbalizations. …

Clarifying Issues Surrounding The “First” Jazz Recording, Mark C. Gridley
Clarifying Issues Surrounding The “First” Jazz Recording, Mark C. Gridley
The IASJ Journal of Applied Jazz Research
Ten questions are answered regarding the first jazz recording, whether it was really the first, and if so, how it qualifies as jazz. They touch on the nature of swing feeling, the extent of improvisation in the recordings, the primacy of the Original Dixieland Jazz Band, the recordings of Wilbur Sweatman, and the comedy team of Harlan and Collins, and why the Original Creole Orchestra of Bill Johnson, featuring Freddie Keppard, did not record.

Influence Of Increasing Fires On Mixed Conifer Stand Dynamics In The U.S. Southwest, Simon D. Baker, Kristen M. Waring, David Auty, Nicholas Wilhelmi
Aspen Bibliography
(1) Stand-replacing fires may threaten the continued stability of mixed conifer forests in the U.S. Southwest. Increasing fire frequency and severity have made post-fire forest recovery trajectories uncertain for many coniferous species, potentially leading to long-term shifts in forest structure and composition. (2) The purpose of this study was to examine post-fire stand dynamics over a 10-year period, using a network of permanent plots established prior to wildfire events across Arizona and New Mexico. We assessed changes in over story composition, regeneration, and fuel loading across different fire severities. (3) High severity fire caused near-total over story mortality, with little …

Passive Radar In Metropolitan Environments (Prime), Hannah Bajakian, Carson Crisafulli, Dylan Olson
Electrical and Computer Engineering Senior Theses
Radio Detection and Ranging (radar) is a core application of RF engineering, traditionally implemented through active systems that transmit high-power signals and process their reflections to estimate target range and velocity. However, active radar systems require significant power, cost, and regulatory overhead. This thesis explores the design and implementation of a passive radar system as a low-power, cost-effective alternative for real-time aircraft tracking.
The system capitalizes on existing ultra-high frequency (UHF) television broadcast signals as illuminators of opportunity. These signals, along with their reflected signals from airborne targets, are received using Yagi-Uda directional antennas and captured using a USRP B210 …

All Decisions
In a holdover proceeding initiated by new co-op shareholders who acquired shares via judicial execution, the court denied their motion to set aside a prior order denying a default judgment. The landlord incorrectly predicated the holdover on RPAPL § 713(1) and § 713(7), arguing the former proprietary lessee was a licensee. The court reaffirmed that these sections do not apply to former proprietary lessees; rather, RPAPL § 711(1) for holdover tenants is the proper vehicle. The court emphasized that cooperative shares are considered personal property for these purposes, preventing the application of "real property" sale provisions under RPAPL § 713(1).

Acrobasis juglundis (Le Baron), and A. demotella Grote cause extensive damage to black walnut foliage and branchlets, and are potential threats to commercial production of walnut trees in Michigan. Both species are univoltine in Michigan and overwinter in hibernacula. lnstars 1-111 are morphologically indistinguishable between species and have similar feeding habits. In the spring, A. demotella was active about two weeks earlier, caused more damage. and was more abundant than A. juglandis. Five parasitoids were reared from A. juglandis including Trathala plesia (Cushman), a new record. No parasitoids were reared from A. denzotella.
